Engine light was on. Friend checked code. It was the Knox sensor. Took it to Schneiders 8/4/21. Got it back 8/11/21. Engine light came on hours later. Took it back. They said it was exhaust manifold this time. Friend checked code. Knox sensor code still, plus Schneiders broke my heater core. I said they needed to fix it. They had my truck 8/16/21-8/20/21. Hrs. later check engine light on again, plus truck shifts hard, revving too high. Wasn't doing that as of 8/16. I want a full refund! They have not fixed my check engine issue, and now my truck doesn't shift gears correctly. After Schneiders had my truck for two weeks, my truck is still broken and runs worse than before I brought it in. I do not trust them to fix it one more time. The mechanic Joe told me that if I accuse him of breaking the heater core, that it won't go well for me. That's a threat! And, apparently, it hasn't gone well for me. I'd like a full refund of $1500, so that I can take my truck elsewhere to get it fixed.Business response

We just finished researching the complaint and here are our findings: The client brought her vehicle in on 8/4 with a check engine light on and two codes, one for a knock sensor and one for a lean code, which we confirmed when we scanned the codes with our diagnostic equipment. We advised client of both codes. She told us she was aware of the lean code. She authorized us to replace the knock sensor. When taking the 2001 Nissan Frontier apart, the technician noted that the hoses were worn and cracked due to the age of the vehicle and mileage of almost 200,000 miles. The technician suggested replacing the hoses to eliminate future problems with the vehicle. The technician replaced the hoses, and we did not charge her labor to replace them. While the technician was replacing the hoses, he advised that the heater core tubes were deteriorated. Customer returned on 8/23 because the check engine light for the knock sensor had come back on. The technician warranted the knock sensor job. The client insisted that our technician broke the heater core. The technician advised the client that we did not break the heater core, however, to keep the client satisfied, the repair was completed by the technician with no charge to the customer. Today we received a voice mail advising that “another check engine light had come on and that the truck did not shift correctly”. The owner contacted the client and asked her to bring the vehicle back in for inspection. However at this point we think it is in the best interest of both parties that we refund the client the full original amount of the invoice ($1453.66) and that she takes her vehicle to another repair shop. We never want to have a client feel that they have been treated with anything but respect and facts.
