I bought a vehicle from Bay City Motors in March 2021, when I bought the car I had payed extra for an extended warranty from a 3rd party company. The warranty was supposed to cover any drivetrain related issues my car had for a certain amount of time. Now that I have issues, I brought my car to the dealership and told them about the warranty but when they called, the warranty was cancelled but doesn't have a date of when it was canceled. I never called to cancel since I paid for it and it was about to expire. I tired calling the dealer I bought it from only to find out they went out of business so I cant even get this issue resolved through them. The 3rd party warranty company told me to contact BBB to file a claim. So now I'm stuck with having to pay fort a giant bill to fix my car when my extended warranty, which I paid lots for, is cancelled though the dealer I bought it from with out my knowledge. **************** name is AUL, their phone number is ************

The 2017 *********** purchased from Bay City Motors is now attempting repossess it from me regardless of making and attempting to make payments. The loan company says the dealer has the title back. Unfortunately the Bay City Motors is out of business and I have no place to go or anyone to contact to workout new payment arrangements. I have done a lot of research regarding the lender '***************************'.

Hello BBB Representative,On 2/12/23, my husband and I purchased a 2013 Mazda3 from Bay City Motors, *********** ($10,433.82, after taxes) for our 16 year old daughter, a new driver. We test drove it with the sales representative, *********************, and, in addition to communicating with him that our minor daughter would be the sole driver, we discussed it's safety and performance records (*** offered a lot of unsolicited, anecdotal stories about his college daughter's dependable Mazda3). It wasn't evident until the longer drive off the lot after purchase that the vehicle was braking inconsistently. Mechanics confirmed shortly thereafter that the vehicle had a faulty brake system and wasn't safe to drive. We paid ************* to restore proper braking function, after a local mechanic was unable to do so. We have contacted *** and Bay City Motors via phone and email with requests to reimburse us for the cost to restore proper brake function to the vehicle, but they have been non-responsive. We have attached 3 documents: our communications to Bay City Motors and 2 documents from ************* 1) the cost to restore proper brake function and 2) a more descriptive report showing all recommended service for the vehicle. While we had ************* complete all recommended repairs at a cost of $4,388, we have only asked Bay City Motors to "do the right thing" and reimburse us for the $2,719.07 cost to make the car drive safely by restoring proper brake functionality. We are seeking BBB assistance for resolution with Bay City Motors, ***********, since they continue to be non-responsive to all of our communications (see attachments).Thank you,****** and *************

I purchased a used car (**** Jeep Cherokee sport) from this dealer on March 17th 2022. They assured me that the car was inspected by their mechanic that it was good to go. I looked over the car and it looked fine on the outside. About 45 days later I was driving to ******** Hospital where I work as a nurse when the car started shaking violently and I could not drive over 40 mph. I had to have the car towed back to ** (which cost me about $300) to have it fixed at a AAA certified shop. The mechanic there told me that the tires that were on the car were 20 years old with the back right tire about to blow out, the right rear break was leaking, and the rear breaks needed to be replaced. He also later tole me that the catalytic converter was broken and needed to be replaced. All in all costing about $3500. The most shocking part was that they would sell a car with tires that were manufactured ****. I can provide the mechanic report in necessary.

We carefully evaluated the complain and came to the following conclusions:

1 - The sold vehicle passed smog check successfully during preproduction inspection. This can be clearly seen from the Carfax report records: "01/27/2022
      131,338
      **********
      Inspection Station
      ***********, **
      Passed emissions inspection

2 - the mileage of the sold vehicle according to the Carfax records and results of  presales inspection was around 131,300miles

      ***********, **

Based on this official  information we strongly believe that customers complains are groundless for the following reasons:

1.a the complain about the faulty catalytical converter is groundless since the vehicle would not ever pass the emission inspection if it were indeed the case

2.a the complain about the vehicle being sold with the original tires is not true as well, since no tires ever can run for ******* miles

We are happy to provide Carfax reports with the mentioned above information.

I am rejecting this response because:

Since I am not a mechanic I can not speak to the catalytic converter but I do know it was replaced by a AAA certified mechanic who showed me it was broken (I have the report). As for the tires, I did not say they were the original tires I said they were 16 years old and I have attached a photo of one of the tires that was about to blow out. The manufacture date (visible in the photo) is January 2006 making the tire 16 years old, well over twice the length of time recommended by the National Highway ****************************** The ******************* also has a law(A.B. 949) that prohibits the installation of unsafe used tired to cars. I feel I was sold a car with unsafe tires.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************************
