1 starI recently moved and emailed them to cancel my account. The response was that I have to provide proof with my last bill from my previous location and first bill at my new location (Uh? Why?). If I've moved in with someone they want a notarized statement from that person that I don't pay the utilities and if I'm renting they want a statement that my utilities are included in my rent. HUH?? They need this why exactly? I'm seeing others saying it took 8 months or more to cancel.Anyone interested in a class action lawsuit? Time to lawyer up.Clearway Community Solar

1 starThe folks at Clearway Community Solar are shady. They generate my monthly bill on the 6th and I do not get the bill until after the 19th. This leaves only a few days to get the payment to them or it is past due. Then they harass you with multiple calls every day the bill is late. I've spoken to them SEVERAL times about it. Each time they want me to pay electronically (which I will not).
I learned today that if you cancel your account, they still bill you for 6 more months. All of their service representatives are outsourced outside the United States with poor English skills and difficult to understand accents.
I believe this is a scheme to get their customers to all pay electronically or something. I wouldn't trust these guys with anything.Clearway Community Solar

1 starIf I could give 0 star I would.. SCAM! BE AWARE! As you will see in many of these reviews, it is TRUE what people are saying. A man showed up at my front door and stated that they were contracted with National Grid and help consumers lower their monthly bill. Little did I know, I'm paying DOUBLE what I normally pay. There is NO discount. They make it seem like you are saving 7% but when you average it out, you are paying MORE.
Also, I cancelled less than 1 month into signing up and the lady stated you aren't placed on a farm yet so you won't be charged. Come Jan 2025, they are calling me stating that I owe $431.85... mind you I have not lived at that location since Nov 2024.
They said it will take 8 months to cancel because (coming from the MANAGERS mouth), they can not leave the farm with no-one, someone needs to pay...
They said they can not stop billing me but once they found out I did not reside there, they stated, oh well if that is the case we will get them to terminate immediately... like WTF. You can't cancel my account for 8 months because you can't leave your farm empty but you can cancel IMMEDIATELY because I no longer live at that address?
All I have to say is, be careful. If you choose to go with Clearway make sure you document everything because they def do not deserve A+ Accreditation. I could go on about the conversations I had with their manager but please read everyone's reviews and if you choose to take the chance, good luck!Clearway Community Solar

1 starThe most horrible experience ever!!! I had Clear Way since 2021. I wanted to change my name on the account as my Husband was no longer here. They would not. Then I canceled the account in September. I changed my account with My Excel in only my name.. After that I received a Bill from Clear way. I called they said it would be my last bill and it was because of how they bill out.. Well Ok I paid that bill. Now I get another bill and Mind you it is over 200 dollars. They are saying they are 3 mths behind.. weoll that is not possible because there is no longer an account attached to the Clearway account. Now I am also being told mind you after many phone calls. Now being told after the account with ********************** is finally paid up I will get a 600 dollar closing fee.. This place is a rip off...Clearway Community Solar

5 starsWe have been a Clearway Community Solar customer for many years. I still remember when the young man came through our neighborhood trying to sign people up for their solar farm. It was a new idea, at least for me, and I liked it. It is only slightly cumbersome because I have two electric bills instead of one: one to my electric company and one to Clearway Community Solar. I have them both on auto-pay so it works very smoothly. I get credit for the electricity that Clearway Community Solar provides from my account to my electric company. My total cost is less because the electricity I get from Clearway is cheaper than the electricity from my electric company. The savings is not substantial, but I like the idea of harnessing the power from the sun instead of burning fossil fuel. It has been a good deal for us.Clearway Community Solar

1 starHORRIBLE!!!CleayWay Community Solar scammed me! They even took money out of my checking account without my authorization. When I first signed up, they told me that it would be easy to cancel and that there are no cancellation fees. Well, now they told me it will take at least 8 months to cancel my contract with them and am responsible for paying these bills until I personally find someone to replace my spot. Im a single mother of multiple children and I have no time for this.I have been on the phone with them multiple times and all they do is try to manipulate you into believing that youre somehow saving money with their solar credits. My utility bill doesnt even have the name ClearWay on it, just Other Chargesand now Im stuck with paying 3 different companies just for electricity!Clearway Community Solar

5 starsI signed up for clearway 6 months ago and I absolutely love it. All of these reviews with 1 star or 0 stars are completely false. Clearway is nothing as to what other reviews are saying. My electric bill is usually around $500 a month but ******* are higher and I save a great deal of $$ each month. I 100% recommend this company to anyone if youre looking to save some money. The rep that came to help me apply was the nicest young man and offered to help me bring in my groceries. These people really do care about you and arent just trying to scam you. I also enjoy that clearway isnt a 3rd party program so it gives me relief that I wont be shut out of the program. Im on this program for 20 years and I wish it was longer!Clearway Community Solar

1 starI don't want to say anything negative about solar power because we so desperately need to change our energy sources, but my patience with Clearway has run out. They overestimated my energy use so my bills from the beginning were higher than my NG bills. I requested a scale down, but they said that would take 4 months due to agreements with NG and the state. I was patient for a while but then got fed up and cancelled. The scale down finally went through about 3 months after cancelling, but the bills are still too high. It has now been 8 months since I cancelled, and the end is nowhere in sight. Now I have to get lawyers involved. Yuck.Clearway Community Solar

1 starI cancelled my account with ********************** on 12/26/2023. I think it's absolutely criminal that they'll take up to 8 months to cancel. I call this "Extortion". I've had solar panels on my house rooftop for 2 months now and don't need or want their services anymore.
