Precious who works out the west ** on *********. was the rudest person Ive ever spoken with. Precious whose an employee that represents The Futon Shop. I was referred to this company from a dear friend. Im so disappointed. I would not recommend my enemy to go here. Terrible customer service from Precious and ****.Review from Jul M

I got organic cotton mattress. After 4 months it is smells like barn and chemicals . I have neuro toxicity from it. I wake up with a slight headache. I slept on regular mattress and feel fine. So it comes from their organic mattress which such c*** it is unusable. Something changed with this company either they process cotton with something or else. I bought it based on a wonderful experience 5 years ago now those mattresses are a nightmare from h*** First They suggested I bought a organic cotton mattress with wool, latex and cotton. It smelled horrific when it arrived I woke up with allergic reaction on my back all with hives and red and horrific headache.. They agreed to switch to just cotton one not as bad as bad as the other one but it still stinks and toxic just not as bad. We understand that some of our customer's do have chemical sensitivities, which is why we provide products that are chemical free. The mattress we switched you to was custom made and contained only 100% organic cotton. These fibers are processed on site and come directly from the farms with no other interim processing. They may contain a slight odor as we do not use harsh chemical cleaning agents, however, the odor dissipates over time. This time frame can be decreased by leaving your mattress in direct sunlight in a well ventilated room.Review from Corinth L

Worst rip off of my life. RUN don't walk away from this place. Nightmare experience similar to others who have made a review here. My organic cotton matress smelled like a barnyard and the smell never went away. Had to sleep on make shift bed for a month because smell was so aweful stinking up my tiny studio apartment. And they don't do refunds, only store credit or half store credit for proof of donation. Couldn't donate in good conscience due to smell, couldn't wast more money on returning it. It went to the dump where it belongs when my new usable matress was delivered. Currently in talks with my bank disputing the charge. Don't be fooled by all the good reviews on there site. Trust Pilot has similar horrible reviews as shown here. Worst experience ever with a company.Review from Theo C

Theyre horrible. Send couches with wrong fabric. Cushions are so plumped in the center you cant sit on them without falling to one side. Their customer service is essentially non existent. They dont back their products. And if you want to return a sub standard product you have to pay shipping which is unreasonably expensive from the east coast to the west coast. In sum, their products are inferior and they take absolutely no responsibility. Stay away. Far far awayReview from Alexa P

What a rip off. An acquaintance had told me about this place so I decided to order a futon from them. Due to the fact that the futon was the equivalent of sleeping on a hard rock I decided to bring it back in exchange for a full sized bed. It was around $500z I ordered the full size hemp bed. I enjoyed the comfort of this bed until it randomly broke on me one day out of the blue. I hired a handyman to come fix the bed and it was successful until I started noticing the legs becoming wobbly again. I have been the only person sleeping on this bed and there is no reason it cannot hold the weight of a young woman. At this point im tired of dealing with this company and am just going to buy another bed. Total waste and scam.Review from Bobbi C

I ordered the Tranquility mattress based on sales advising me to upgrade (ie. spend more money) on a better supportive mattress which would be more like a hybrid mattress that I was asking for. I received a basic futon, nowhere can I see the supposed coils this upgraded mattress is supposed to have for the additional support and cost. This is just a basic poorly constructed futon, not at all a mattress. Its lumpy, doesnt hold a shape and doesnt fit in the frame. After numerous calls and emails, Ive been advised that the problem is the frame. No one has taken any responsibility for overselling an underperforming product that is not what was advertised.Review from Miriam M.

I ordered $6000 in modular sofa pieces from the futon shop. They sent the wrong hardware over and over. We could not even use the couches for over six months. When we started sitting on the couches they fell apart. My tiny six year old daughter leaned back and the entire back of the couch fell off, with my daughter crashing to the floor. The backs of the other pieces are wobbly and uneven. The pieces dont even line up together, because they were made unevenly. The screws appear to be sitting in sawdust and are not firmly secured at all, not even for very light usage. These couches are unusable. We barely touch them because they are literally falling apart. I was told I had a 20 year warranty by one salesperson - a 30 year warranty by another. Either way, I began contacting their customer service about the couch falling apart within months of delivery. I have been filing complaints with customer service for over two years. I have refiled those complaints dozens and dozens of times. I have been promised repairs, I have been told replacement pieces would be sent, but then they went silent on me over a year ago! It took dozens more complaints before I got any return email at all. I was told a month ago that I would finally get a call back April 26. Its been several weeks, and despite my three emails asking when that call would actually take place, I have heard nothing from them. The Futon Shop is completely unresponsive. The couches are not usable and they avoid every effort to get them repaired, replaced or refunded. I have been totally willing to work with them, but the futon shop just ignores me while I am stuck with a room full of furniture that we can hardly sit on because they are hanging in by a thread.Review from Dolly H.

I had my mattress for six months in ****, **. The area is extremely dry, high dessert. I also open my window each morning to let my room air out each day while I'm at work. I lifted up the mattress and the entire underside was covered in mildew. I had noticed itchy eyes and a stuffy nose at night for months. I thought it was allergies. When I moved the mattress outside my hands were itchy, red, swollen. My throat was itchy and tight. I removed the matress and cleaned the house with vinegar. When I contacted customer service, they said it was my own fault for not taking proper care of the mattress. I'll make my last payment on it next week.Natural Home by The Futon Shop Response

This link is offered at the bottom of nearly every page on our website. https://www.thefutonshop.com/policy-product-care Our care guide specifically mentions that our mattresses need to be flipped and rotated regularly and are not to be used on a solid surface. By not reviewing the provided material and properly caring for your mattress, built up moisture in the natural fibers caused it to mildew. This is unfortunate, but this is why we offer care instructions.Review from Evan B

After purchasing a wooden futon headboard and waiting for two weeks without even a tracking number, I had to email Futon Shop where i was told that it was "backordered" and could take up to another two weeks. I figured that there have been supply chain issues lately so I was fine with that. I waited for another two weeks, and after still nothing I emailed again asking to just cancel it. Immediately after sending that email I got a call late at night saying that it was miraculously being shipped the next day. They weren't waiting for this item to get to them, they had had it in stock the entire time and had just never sent it. I got the headboard finally and immediately saw that the color was completely different than what was on the website. A gross yellow color. More importantly, there were giant stress cracks right near the edges of the headboard that would be fitting with the bed. I immediately sent an email with pictures showing the cracks and color issue and asked for a refund and wanted to send it back to them. After about 3 weeks of back and forth with different people, I finally got an email saying that the refund to my paypal credit went through and that it could take a few days to show up (which is standard). However, after seeing nothing for a week I emailed again asking where the refund was and only then did I get a message from paypal telling me that I had a refund "pending". Meaning...they had never processed the refund the first time and were probably hoping I just wouldn't follow up. On top of that, it was a partial refund! After asking why it was partial, I was told that they "didn't give refunds for shipping costs." You don't refund shipping costs when you send a broken product? I was..speechless. At that point, I just gave up communicating with the vendor and opened a dispute with paypal credit. Luckily I'm getting my full money back from PayPal but a vendor operating like this is unacceptable. I wish I'd read reviews before. AwfulReview from Kristen F

Bought a reclining couch, was finicky upon arrival, but whatever. Then it full on broke and wont stay upright, and despite emails and phone calls regarding our one-year warranty, I have not received a single call or email back. Do NOT buy from them. They take your money and are completely unreachable after that. Also for the delivery, I had to **** down the number for the delivery company and beg for a reschedule because customer service was unreachable and I had to go out of town for a death in the family. The Futon Shop makes me wonder if they are being truthful about anything they sell, since they are certainly not truthful about service and warranties. Steer clear of them!
