I have used this app for about 4+ years. I was increased to a $2,500 limit. I currently owe $159.03 with the next payment not due until May 29, 2024. I have been in good standings for years (thus the spending limit)!! I go to make a $91.26 purchase using Afterpay, and THEIR card kept coming up as "insufficient funds." I tried several times. Each one of their cards entered, failed (I wish they allowed pictures to show it was THEIRS, not mine!). I contacted customer service, presented the situation with screenshots, and they, or "Jan" responds with this:"Hi ****,Afterpay looks at a lot of data to make decisions in real-time about whether to approve your purchase. We need to act in an instant and we may not always come out with the approval you are looking for, but thats how Afterpay works and we appreciate your understanding that we cant approve every transaction.Afterpay does not approve 100% of purchases but we do make a fresh assessment each time you attempt to purchase with Afterpay. With this in mind, you may try our service with a future transaction. We will continually review your repayment history and so long as payments are made on time you may find your spending capacity increase once more. This is all part of how we can keep Afterpay service free for our customers.What can you do?To finalize your transaction you will need to use an alternative payment method other than Afterpay.This doesn't mean that you won't be able to shop with Afterpay ever, we hope you will try us again in the future. Thank you for your ongoing support.Thank you."They have randomly decided to not allow my purchase that I requested several times, no reason given. My Afterpay payment method was approved, they auto-filled the payment information with their temporary credit card, I attempted to process the payment on their card to be alerted that the card has "insufficient funds." Afterpay is not worth it. You could make all your payments on time and they still will decrease you. Then trying to contact them and get original answers instead of scripted ones is impossible. No one can do anything here or even explain why.Afterpay, Inc. Response

Please be careful using this service because they do not provide customer service by phone. I purchased a couple items using after pay, because I wanted to establish credit through a service like this. However after ordering through ******** I noticed the laptop, that I ordered did not have enough storage space for my job. Therefore, I immediately cancelled the order along with other items. I've asked after pay via their portal to be refund the full amount of lended credit for these items and full deposit of $59.35 because the order was cancelled before it ever shipped. I have contacted after pay tiresomely and provided proof of the cancellation, because I don't want to be charged for items I didn't receive. ******* has emailed them with the confirmation code for the entire refund. Please help BB because after pay is not being ethical towards their customers.Kindly ******.Afterpay, Inc. Response

$127 was taken out of the wrong account I mentioned it to the company. They gave their reason for not giving the refund. I mentioned that I would put the amount on the correct card.$127 that was taken out of the wrong account went toward my car note. An error was made and this company even did not try to help and I missed my Car note this month. I'm at the risk of losing my Car because of this. This company doesn't care nothing about their customers. An error was made so what it's their loss.READ GOOD! Stop doing business with Afterpay they do not care about their Customers. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN! IF AN ERROR WAS MADE TOUGH WE DON'T CARE LOOSE YOUR HOME AND YOUR CAR! THAT IS HOW AFTERPAY FEEL ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! These other folks on here are telling the truth folks reading need to think! All of these complaints are almost the same Afterpay do not try to work with their customers. You took the money off the correct card put it back. It about treating the customers correctly in order to continue to have repeated business.Afterpay, Inc. Response

I purchased a pair of boots thru afterpay and unfortunately needed to return them. After MANY conversations with the boot company confirming this refund, Afterpay still claims to not have received the refund. They will not respond on the help platform nor have they called me to resolve this issue. Do not recommend doing business with them at all.Afterpay, Inc. Response

I placed an order with wayfair and used afterpay to pay for it. First time ever using after pay and they charged me the first installment but my order with ******* never went through. I called wayfair and they said they do not have the order in their system. I have reached out to afterpay through there help section and IG and have not gotten a response or my refund. This is unacceptable how your stealing hard working people's money. I wish I checked BBB before placing the order. I want my money back!Afterpay, Inc. Response
