      Be careful and ask about "protection plan" upfront. They will have you sign the contract at the price quoted AND THEN tell you about the extra you'll be paying for the protection plan. Then they will justify it by telling you, you can "opt out." Trying to opt out is a big run around and that's the whole idea. The idea is that you will get sick and tired of trying to opt out and/or forget about it. HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE. Slimy and corrupt

      I had a storage with Price Self Storage for 7 years. I closed it in 2019 and did a walk through and paid my last bill. I filled out paperwork with office to give them my notice. In 2024, they sent a collections paperwork for $1200 for me to a nasty credit collections agency who reported me to all three credit bureaus. They are stating I never paid my bill. I have called the local location to investigate and now I have filed a dispute with my bureaus but this has been 5 years. Someone did not file my paperwork and handle this correctly and of course the people there in 2019 are no where to be found. Also, it shows I spoke with them in July 2019. Never after closing unit did I have a converstation or speak with them again. All was paid and papers signed. They walked through my unit. This is a viscious organization selling my information to a credit collection bureau then reporting me without my knowledge or notice??

      This is a terrible self storage place. They are dishonest and make up things to add to the bill. I had set up my automatic payment right from the beginning of our contract and they kept on saying every month that I had not done that and wanted to charge me $20 more each time for being late, according to them!!! They also make you pay extra for their property insurance even if one has one. I had to send a lot of paperwork to waive it and they still have not sent me my refund. They are awful. Be careful!!!!

      I have rented a unit for 1 month. I have paid the monthly fee together with an insurance for the unit. The day of my signing the lease, I clearly told the manager, that I do have my own insurance. She told me that I will get the money back at the end of the lease. I told her that I would like to give her information about my home insurance so I do not have to pay this extra fee. I was told that I do not need to do that, because I will get the money back at the end of the lease. There was no place on my application to put information about my own insurance. I have asked throughout the month several times, how I can document my home insurance, so I get my money back at the end of the lease. I was given a number to a corporate office at866 and *******. I called several times. There was no answer. I left a message. No-one called me back. I asked about it again at the rental office and I was told, that they will call corporate and that I will be receiving a phone call from them. Well, that never happened. No-one called me back. Then I was given an email address to request my money back. I emailed to opt out from insurance. I did not get an email back. At this point I received a phone call from price storage and I was told that I am not going to get any money back, because I have to pay for extra insurance for 30 days, even if I have my own! I am very upset. This is not a matter of only the $14 that I have paid extra. This is a matter of principal. You tell me you are going to give me the money back, you give me a round around in order to get it back and than you fail me as a customer. I am concerned about this easy scheme how to get extra money from your customers, overcharging customers that already have their own insurance. The ones that do not ask for money back will be simply overcharged.Other storage places tell you up front, that you need your own insurance. Only if you do not have one, only than they charge you extra. I am asking for resolution:1. I want my money back, for being mislead. 2. Price self storage need to be more transparent to customers about their charges for insurance. 3. Their policy needs to change. If you already have home insurance, you should NOT be charged for an extra insurance, regardless how long you rent the unit.
