June 23, 2021 took my **** Buick century to convoy automotive to get a/c and oil change. They preformed a/c performance check for leaks which was *****. Upon preforming test no leaks were detected for ******. It detected the right side HVAC door actuator was stuck and needed replacing. They charged me ****** and when looking on internet cheapest on internet was ***** to more expensive *****. When replacing door it requires the climate control it requires climate control system needs relearning. Upon doing, vacuum control module needed to be replaced. A special order part. Per ***, he was not able to drop original diagnosed but would not.I would like my money back for all services but oil change and windshield wipers. Thank you.Business response

I told him that the right side was blowing hot air..Since he's been in business for 43 years you would think he'd know to go right to diagnostic testing..no he wanted me to have to pay for something that was not needed..He was misleading nd why is the part so much..He is charging 3 times what the part arrigionally goes for.. I could see raising the price a little but 3 times that and labor what a joke ****** for what to do a total of maybe 1 hour work if that..For being in service for 43 years this company is con man and I only took my car there because he got raive reviews boy how much he make off them.. it's really sad that you would take advantage of a single women like that..so as far as future repairs I already got it fixed without special order part and only took 20 minutes to do..I will never do business with you and would like all my money back..Business response

5/18/2021 $5,508.09 I brought my car into Convoy Auto Repair for a scheduled routine inspection set for 8 am on Tuesday, May 18th. The nature of this dispute is that the business has committed fraud in providing me an incorrect quote. I'm being charged $5,508.09 for unspecified repairs. This goes well past the $915 I agreed to for repairs that were discussed over the phone and broken down by cost over email. My car is now being held by Convoy Auto Repair with important materials to me. I was provided no cost breakdowns or repair details exceeding $915. This was financial fraud, bad business practice, and now the business is using intimidation to have me pay a full amount of $6352.58 in cash for a car that is barely worth $5,000. I have open investigations with ***************** **** of America, and will be taking this matter to court. The business has still failed to provide an invoice or any rational explanation for why and what work was done to get to this total of $5,508.09.Business response

As noted before the ******************** Repairs has investigated this claim on site. They have reviewed all the documentation and concluded we meet all civil and vehicle codes and followed the legally acceptable procedures in obtaining approval.
As a goodwill gesture we have offered a substantial discount of $844.49. Details are attached in the email sent to ***** with this offer and timelines.
Regrettably the Lein sale was processed today and will add an addition $ ****** in filing fees plus storage fees of $ ***** per day accrued from the day of notification of the vehicle repairs being completed.
As mentioned multiple time we did not want files the Lein, but code requires us to file it to protect our Mechanics Lein.
Depending on the timely acceptance of our final offer we will consider waiving these new fees and they add a substantial cost to the already due ****.
