Amerisun installed solar panels on my house. The financing was to include a previous solar contract. They never paid the other solar company and is still charging me the full amount plus the other solar company is charging me. I was in contact with Amerisun and was waiting on a refund and now find out they are out of business. I financed roughly $80,000 to them but about $25,000 was supposed to pay off the other solar company.Initial Complaint

I contacted Amerisun last spring to discuss some home upgrade construction work. The Amerisun representative on the phone told me they handle contracting work and scheduled a visit from a sales person to review the job and provide an estimate. The sales person who showed up at my house wasted an hour of my time while I described the construction work that he had no intentions of writing up for an estimate because his SOLE purpose was to sell solar panels to me. Even after I explained on the phone I am not ready to buy solar panels until the home remodeling is done. This sales person, in my home, was rude and obnoxious and sarcastic, belittling me and my knowledge of home ownership. He even asked for my recent tax return so he could look at my income and tell me what tax credits I would receive for buying solar from Amerisun. I suspect that the request is not even legal considering that my personal information is in my tax paperwork. This sales person would not take NO for an answer on the solar issue so I had to ****** him to the front door.A few months later, I received the first of many phone calls from Amerisun, harassing me about solar, despite me explaining the bad experience with their sales man and no desire to buy solar panels from them. They call me from a different phone number every time and use sarcasm and bullying to try to talk to me about solar panels. Every time I ask them to stop calling and they refuse. Today, after one more call from Amerisun using another phone number, I told them forcefully to not ever call again (for about the 12th time) and blocked YET ANOTHER number used by this hostile, toxic company.I want these b******* to stop harassing me about solar panels. I'm sick of this treatment. I believe they are doing it on purpose because I rejected the belligerent sales man's offer during the first visit and it's some kind of payback. This must stop! If I get one more phone call from Amerisun, I will be filing a lawsuit against them.Business Response

In March 2023, we contracted with Amerisun to install a more roof solar panels, replace our ****, and our gas water heater with an electric hybrid.1 The north roof was taken by existing panels. They promised the new panels on the south roof were to be on angled mounts. In April they put them on standard roof mounts, facing north, not as promised.2 We signed docs with all the work to be completed. Yet the docs filed with GoodLeap financing showed the full price for everything, but only listed the solar panels. When the solar installation was complete, they were paid for the entire contract, not just what they were owed for the work done.3 The **** was larger than the attic access, requiring the trim to be removed and reinstalled. They promised it would be put back the way it was. It was not. It has visible damage and does not fit square with the opening any longer.4 They **** required new thermostats. They left without connecting the upstairs thermostat. This **** is split so left the upstairs was without A/C in summer. After many calls & over 3 months they finally connected the upstairs thermostat. Since they had manipulated the finance paperwork to get paid pre-installation they had no motivation to finish the job quickly.5 and worst, we decided the water heater was not worth the cost as it would not save us much in operation. So we requested a change to the contract leaving that out. We signed a change order form 8/29/2023. As filled out by them, it clearly stated that the payment was due August 2023 and the refund amount was $6,500. After repeated calls, and lies about the check being in the mail, being sent to the finance company and so on, they have refused to pay us what we are owed. They never should have been paid on this in the first place. It is their fault they were paid before installation. We are seeking the refund we are due of $6500, plus the interest paid on that amount in our loan.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
They have repeatedly lied saying "the check is in the mail" in every other variation possible. This is clearly another attempt to deceive.
1. They misspelled my name in their response. They have never ever had any such difficulty before.
2. They put "Ms." when they have had clearly known it's "Mrs" in everything else with them.
3. There is no way it took seven months for an envelope to be returned.
4. They offer no proof. Where is this envelope? I want to see the markings. I want to see the address they put on it. They never ever had any problem with my address in the past. Only when they own me a lot of money are there mysterious problems sending it. I want to see the check they claim they sent.
5. This is the fifth time they have claimed a check was sent. They would say it would be here by Friday, then say give it a few more days. Then they would "appologize" and say they will send it.
6. I have repeatedly tried to contact them. They have refused to answer my calls for months. I do not believe they will "get in touch with me."
This is exactly like all of their other deceptions and delay tactics. I don't believe them.

Amerisun installed my home generator but failed the inspection. I am forced to pay the monthly payments but my generator does not work. The finance company, Service Finance also has not been getting returned inquiries. It would be great if they would pay for the months that I have not had my generator in operation and pass the inspection so I may use my product.Business Response
Date: 12/07/2023
We installed and completed installation of the generator on June 9th and passed the trench inspection. June 14th we passed the gas pressure test. July 19th we failed the final inspection and had to do a revision and submitted the revision to The City of Oakley for approval. We received approval on Dec 1. We passed final Dec 4 and got the generator up and working. We have no control over processing times with building depts. Also inspectors have the right to call for revisions on previously approved plans so you can see we were not at fault for the delay though we sympathize with our customer and strive to keep our customers happy. We would like to reimburse 4 months of payments for August, September, October and November in an effort to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. If this is satisfactory please send the amounts of the payments to ************************************ and we take care of it. Thank youCustomer Answer

We had solar installed by Amerisun. I was recently told that our solar was not communicating, so a tech came out. He told me that a rma for inverter was never installed. I left messages and never received a call back. Now when I call I keep calling until I reach someone. I was told that our solar has not been communicating/working since November 2022, which means that is the reason our PG&E bill has been high, especially in the summer months. On 9/25/23 I spoke to **** and I asked for a manager. Was told she would have to find out who our project manager is but they are in a meeting so she will call back but may be next day because a lot of managers are out sick. She stated that she sees a lot of documentation/service calls with no resolution on our account and also that I am the second person that day with the same issue. I never got a call back, so I called 9/26/23 in the afternoon and spoke to ***** this time. She referred me to solar edge stating that the inverter was ordered and never received, so I needed to talk to them, not amerisuns problem. I called solar edge, spoke to ****, he stated that the last case they have for us was in November 2022 and that part was delivered to amerisun and he referred me back to amerisun. I called amerisun back, spoke to ***** who stated shed call back and did not. I called to follow up. Was told again that many employees are out sick, was told that for sure the inverter is ordered but they dont know when it will come in. Was told that there is a case number but it was not provided to me. On 9/29/23 I was told we were on the schedule for Monday 10/2/23 and a tech would come out and investigate further and run a diagnostic. Nobody showed up after I waited all morning. I called and was told not sure why we were on the schedule . ***** did give me her direct number and followed up with me letting me know basically that the part is on order, no idea when it will come in, but we will be scheduled when it does.Business Response

We have had numerous tracked conversations with **************** in regards to her inverters not working properly on a couple of different occasions. We were waiting for the Manufacturer to send us her replacement and while waiting we did attempt to reach out to advise per emails, and phone calls. ********* has been backed up in providing quick replacements so unfortunately it's been a waiting game for both parties and we have somewhat been at their mercy.
We also sent tech out to ******************** home on Wednesday, October 18th to do a swap of the inverter and have been in communication with **************** as well. Please see the attached proof that her Enphase is now fully operational and communicating properly.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
While it is true that the system is now working, the response from Amerisun is not truthful. I never received emails from them. I had been told they would email me showing that the parts were ordered, and never received the email. I called back to ask for the email and was told they were short staffed. Communication happened, however, only when I called, I only received one call from Amerisun. On several occasions I was told I would receive a call back and did not, I had to call back the following day. I asked for a manager on each call and was never given the opportunity to speak to one. They scheduled a tech twice to come out to our home to run a diagnostic and nobody showed up. When I called to ask I was told either they didnt arrive because they didnt have the part, or they didnt know why nobody showed up and would call me back, which again, did not happen. I received a call from BBB to see if I had heard from the company and I said no. At this point BBB called amerisun on my behalf. Within and hour a tech was at my home installing the part that we apparently had been waiting on since November 2022, stating that they just bought the part themselves to remedy the issue.
I still feel as though a reasonable request would be reimbursement for PG&E bills we paid that we would not have had if the system were working.Business Response

This company is terrible to work with. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM. I interviewed several solar companies before deciding on Amerisun. I liked the person I worked with. I also thought it would be good to work with a company that is also a contractor so that I could do other projects with them in the future. Once we got the financing set up, I didn't hear from them until I called them myself. I was then told that they'd be coming to install the next day, I asked if they had been approved by my HOA and they claimed to not know that I had one even though I mentioned it several times. This process delayed everything for several months. When that was finally done, they came and installed in one day and even installed a battery for no extra charge "for my troubles". Well, that was almost 4 months ago. They didn't get the proper permits for the battery from the county and weren't able to activate my system. They were already paid by the finance company though. Which means I am paying on the panels plus PG&E at this time. Also, they always blame someone else for their incompetence. When the county finally approved the plans, they set up the inspection. I was here, and they failed. They set it up a second time, I took the day off work because they didn't respond to my request for a time frame. No one showed and no one called until I called them. They set it up a third time and the county inspector was here but they never showed. So here I am warning others to not trust this company for anything. They should not be doing business when they are this incompetent and unreliable. Be warned!! I will be contacting a lawyer next.Business Response

At that time the job was put on hold for the ***** day approval. 7/21/22 the customer was contacted to provide the information for the **** The customer responded on 7/25/22 with the information and HOA approval was finally sent to us on Nov 30. To keep our customer satisfied we gave her an Enphase Battery that sells for $12,500 and we also gave her a new inverter to accommodate the battery. Because of this change we had to revise the plans and there was a long delay at the ************** because of the Holidays. We also refunded the customer on Feb 24 in the amount of 720. to cover three finance payments. We have several emails showing we contacted the ************* every week trying to push the process along and those emails were sent to the customer.
We received the first revision on Mar 9 but ended up having to do another revision and thats what we are waiting for at this time. As soon as we get this last revision we will install as soon as possible. We have been contacting the customer weekly to keep her updated.

We had 2 salesman show up to are door step and everything well. Fast forward after install date we notice a few thing 1. See like the water was running off over the edge of the gutter instead of flowing through 2. They promise to re align and reseal my existing gutter but I can clearly see that didn't happen.3. I told them I didn't want the product anymore due to the customer service and install job, but now I'm being ignored and can't get ahold of no body 4. We agreed on 52 bucks a month for the price but now the finance company wants 92 dollar a month,Overall I'm just unhappy and they're ignoring my calls and don't want to work with me anymore unfortunately. I totally regret getting service with this company. I bought 5 solar panels with this company and previously already owned 30 with another company. The reason I bought 5 more was because they promised me that it will offset my true-bill. After they installed it my true bill went up 4x the amount in the past 6 months. I was previously paying **** dollars a year for the past 2 years but now for the past 6 months I already owe ****. I try to contact with their customer service but they never helped and never resolved my concerns. I sent them my pgne statements and try to contact them but they never responded. please give me a call as soon as possible to help with my situation Thank You.
