A company called BCO Consulting Services reached out to me in October of 2021. They claimed that they could consolidate my student loans and apply for debt forgiveness through their program. They claimed they work with the ********** of ********* and had enough of my information for me to believe it was legit. I never gave them any of my personal information other than my name and email address and then later my credit card to pay for my income driven repayment plan that they signed me up for. They charged $1,000 as a consulting fee and then estimated my monthly payment would be $39/month after that. They did consolidate my loans with my loan servicer *********** and applied for an income driven repayment plan, but have never been making payments toward my loans. I have been making $39 payments to them for a little over a year now, however, I just reached out to *********** and none of those payment have been applied to my student loan balance, so it is a total scam. I have terminated any future payments to them and requested that they cancel my "income-based" repayment plan and cease all future communications with me regarding any payments due. I had my loan servicer file a report on my behalf and am reaching out here and with the *** and the *****

I've been paying BCO consulting services starting 02/25/2021 up until 09/26/2022 for student loans that they never paid. They informed me when I signed up for the program that BCO was going to reduce my student loans by $20,000 by applying for income-based billing from the government. I paid $1000 in increments of $200 for 5 months and after the 5 months, I paid $40 every month up until I cancelled. I owe over 30k in student loans. BCO informed me that 20k was going to be forgiven because of my income and my monthly payment would be $40 versus the $320 I was already paying. I paid and paid and when I checked my student loan balance, nothing changed. BCO is a predatory company that preys on former students. I asked all the necessary questions and they blatantly lied to me. They need to be sued and disbanded. It is unfathomable how many people that they have scammed. Total I have paid over $1500 and non of it went to my student loans and come to find out the income-based program was never applied for under my name. This company is a scam and they need to be stopped. They DO NOT assist with any student loan forgiveness even though that is the complete premise of their business. Please help.

BCO offered to help clear up my student loan debt by me paying $247 for the next five months and my loan would be paid off. After thinking it over and speaking with Federal Student Aid, I called back and called the agreement and requested a refund on 02/29/22. As of todays date 09/16/22, I still havent received my refund of $247.00.

I was deceived to believe that payments were going to 10 year student loan forgiveness program and they were keeping it for themselves. They consolidated my loans and did not pay any money towards my loans. I lost a year and half of payments towards the program. I want my money back

The company (BCO Consulting Services) was misleading about the type of service they provide. The individual I spoke with (******************************* - possibly not his real name considering) stated they could provide me with student loan forgiveness through the ************** Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. He stated that all I would need to do is pay $199.80 for 5 months, then $39 for 120 months for my student loans to be forgiven. I found it to be odd considering that literally not being student loan forgiveness, just me paying someone else. He was able to gather my loan information by stating that he would send me a code that I would need to read back to him. I did not realize that he was simply entering my email and then forgot password" into the *** site to then change my password and gain access to my loan information. He mumbled or spoke quickly through certain parts of the conversation as if to cause confusion or be misleading. Thankfully I saw previous customers" very similar complaints on your website before any transactions could occur.

      Hello ***********************,

We understand your concern in regards to the programs, but just so you are aware, these programs were developed by the ********** of ********* for individuals like yourself that work in the public service workplace. The enrollment payments discussed is a processing fee that our organization debits for the submission and approval of documentation. Please understand this is all stated within the documents and agreements. If you would like to handle any of these programs yourself please reach out directly to the ********** of *********. If you have any other questions or need assistance reach out to ******************************************

Hi there this business reached out to me in October regarding my Students loans that I had to pay soon. They persuaded me into their "Student loan forgiveness program" and retrieved all my information including fasfa and bank information. I had made one payment with them before I realized that they stole my money and were not affiliated to EdFinancial services. I ended up calling them immediately once I found out and cancelled my services with them. I also had to contact my bank and report fraud on the money they took and also close that account. I'm not really sure to do now since they have my information including my social security number. I would also like y'all to look into this business because they are misleading and steal money from people. Since they have my information I'm not sure if they have used it against me on my credit. Thanks

Hello,Today, 11/23/2021, around 6pm EST, I received a phone call from "*******************" with BCO Consulting Services, a student loan servicing company. This individual reported he would be able to look into my current repayment plans to determine if I was eligible for a reduced monthly rate for the Parent Plus Loan I took out on behalf of my daughter. He stated these offers were part of the recent changes brought on with *****. This individual requested to log into my Federal Student Aid account and was able to reset my password after sending a text message to my phone and asking me to share the code. After speaking with my daughter and reviewing the Federal Student Aid website, I see this is a major red flag for scams. I unfortunately also provided them with my SSN and bank account information. I feel awful about this. I am an elderly individual and I feel I have let my guard down. I am not sure what to do or how to proceed. I am worried what they will do with my information.

BCO Consulting Services, **** violated my privacy and disregarded my wishes not to be contacted by them. These calls were direct violations of the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 U.S.C. 227). Despite my private number being listed on the National Do Not Call Registry for the past 9 years, I still received at least two marketing calls from BCO Consulting Services. When I confronted BCO about this, I was told that my phone number was even on their own internal Do Not Call list and given no further response. Despite repeated invitations by me, BCO has not contacted me to resolve this matter.

      Hello *******,
Your phone number has already been added to our DNC list within our internal database. I have attached a call recording from the phone number from your complaint and it does show that you said your name was ******* and sounds like you were falsifying information to us. Please be aware that we do not take kindly to those trying to engage with us in this misleading manner. Your number has been removed and nothing further is needed on your end.

      Customer response

      02/16/2022

      Good afternoon,

Thank you for responding to my BBB complaint.  Unfortunately, your response does not resolve the issue at hand.  The fact remains that you twice violated my privacy by engaging in a illegal activity under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (47 USC 227) by using an automated system and false phone numbers to call my personal cell phone.  It is completely immaterial whether or not I provided you accurate information about my identity at that time.  I'm sure you can appreciate that there is a prevalence of identity theft these days and using a false name is a method of protecting myself until I can determine exactly who it is I'm dealing with. Further, my use of a false name in order to determine the identity of the entity calling me is not a legitimate defense to your violation of federal law, especially considering you utilized false phone numbers to contact me.  If you have case law to the contrary, please provide it and I will be happy to review it.

As I have indicated to you through my November 1, 2021 demand letter and multiple follow-up e-mails, your actions constitute willful violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act which does entitle me to triple damages in Court (i.e., $1,500 per illegal call).  I have demonstrated that my phone number has been listed on the National DNC since March 14, 2012 and you have indicated to me that my phone number was "already" on your internal DNC at the time of your calls.

I will refer you to my demand letter e-mailed to you on November 1, 2021 once more and invite you to have your legal representative to provide a response to the demand contained therein.  Should you continue to refuse to acknowledge your illegal activity against me, I will be forced to file a Complaint in Court requesting the full amount I am entitled to under federal law and any applicable **** state laws (e.g., the **** Consumer Sales Practices Act) as well as reasonable attorneys fees and court costs.

      Best,

      -*********************

Thank you again for replying, although none of your statement of violation claims are true and they are all falsified. Please do not threaten us with your TCPA violations as we have no regards to your issue. They may be directed to the marketing company that called you directly.
