      I left a one star rating in September 2021. My opinion of the service resolution from that complaint has changed. California Energy Consultant Service worked to accommodate my work schedule and make the needed repairs on a Saturday and even went beyond that to repair my screen door damage during the same visit. I was pleased and impressed with the worker being at my home on time and very pleasant to work with. The owner of the business had become involved, due to my prior review and was very responsive to my issues and providing exceptional service to remedy the issues that we had with our window and sliding doors. I feel that this company has done everything possible to remedy a situation that had gone way wrong and restored my confidence in recommending them to others. I am leaving 4 instead of 5 stars only because our warranty issues took so long to resolve. If the warranty service we received becomes the future practice of the business, I can surely see the business growing huge from referrals. Thank you, ****************

      California Energy Consultant Service has now earned the best rating from one very happy customer! A while back I was dealing with a lot of issues on the windows that were installed in the house. I felt abandoned by Cal Energy as I dealt with one issue after another. It took some time to correct them, due to some issues at the manufacturer's end which was beyond the control of California Energy Consultant. But a phone call at the outset from Cal Energy would have made a big difference to me. Simonton Windows was also completely aware of the problem and they tried to fulfill the many customers' issues they have had at hand & I didn't know where my mine stand in their priority list. Finally, however, this November both businesses came through with flying colors! The broken circular window looked good and installed perfectly by Cal Energy installers. Now I am very pleased with the services of the two companies! I will definitely recommend them!

      Proceed with caution before hiring them. This is the kind of review I wish I saw before hiring them. I am not a picky or difficult person and relied on the near 5 star reviews others had posted but I regret hiring them to this day. I had them replace 7 windows and a sliding glass door a couple of years ago and the experience still bothers me. The sales guy didn't even show me options, discuss pros and cons of each product, or explain the window features. The windows they installed have cheap locks that I can't even use because they get stuck. They installed a slider that was several inches smaller than the original with no explanation about the gap. They were still doing the install 2 hours after dark without any lighting set up because they would only do it all in one day even though they take out all the windows first and then they start installation one by one. This was January * it was freezing. I even watched one of the installers make a mistake and he glanced back at me to see if I noticed. I didn't say anything to see if he would own up to it and he moved on and I had to call it out to him. The 'expert' they sent out to correct the poor caulking and seals on the interior from the install talked on his cellphone the whole time * shoulder to ear to hold the phone in place so he didn't even use both hands/arms to do the work and what he did still left gaps and I ended up telling him to just leave the material and I would do it myself. I contacted them last week about an issue with an exterior seal on one of the windows and about getting the same window for another window * hoping they would fix the one and the locks and do a better job on the new window. One online request and another email and 5 days later still no response.

      "The office lead and owner immediately contacted me after my review posted to offer to resolve the issues. After scheduling delays on my part, the CECS's representative came to my house and he examined each window and the slider while I was present. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my detailed questions. His answers made sense for why certain things were done for the window selection and installation. His demeanor was friendly, professional, respectful, and at no time did he try to dispute my concerns. I feel that his answers and apologies were sincere and not an attempt to "kiss up" to get me to remove my review. He quickly fixed the window locks, added lubricant to the windows, and watched while I tried the locks myself to ensure I could easily move the lock. After this new experience, I think there were issues on both sides when the work was originally performed. 1. I should have ensured my concerns were escalated even though I was fearful of how the guy previously sent to "fix" the issues would react if I complained (people are crazy). 2. They should have ensured that the escalations were handled correctly and by the appropriate person. I have no idea what their employees told them at the time. However, those employees I worked with at the time haven't been employed there for some time. The folks that I have dealt with this time around were much more professional and I could recommend working with these individuals and plan to have them replace the remaining 2 windows in my home."

      I have been in contact with CES twice in the last year trying to get an appropriate solution for 3 sliding doors they sold me that do not latch easily and are very difficult to open along with a window with a broken seal. When I purchased the windows and doors (made by ********) I was given the whole spiel about them being guaranteed for life but they now are not fixing the issues. I was told that ******** would be in touch to fix things, that didn't happen. I finally called CES again and the return call was full of excuses , we don't have parts etc. That's not my problem! CES needs to take care of its customers that they contracted with because they made promises in writing. This could be a breach of contract if not resolved soon. I will be calling again. I would never use this business in the future because of the poor service.************
