On June 9,2022 i brought my Kia ***** into this establishment for a full service oil change. On July 7,2022 i was driving my car and it abruptly stopped on the freeway. I called triple A and the guy told me i didn't have any oil in my car so i had them tow my car back to this location Within less than a month all of the oil they put in leaked out of my car, there was no warning sign or check engine lights on indicating there was a problem before bringing my car here. The assistant manager *************************** told me he would look for a problem. He then came and thanded me a piece of my oil pan or engine back, as well took my floor to my car out and kept it. I keep my car in great condition and get oil changes when needed. My next oil change wasn't supposed to be until 9/7/22.Business response

The customer came in for an oil ********************** on 6/9/2022. Our technicians noticed that the oil level was very low prior to service and what oil was left in the engine was unusually dirty. Both of these issues were documented on the customers invoice. In roughly 28 days after the customers service with Speed Oil Change Center, they drove their vehicle for ***** miles. Oil Change intervals are usually ***** miles, so the customer obviously was driving the vehicle harder than normal driving conditions would suggest.When the vehicle was towed back to our shop on 7/7/2022, the safety check inspection showed that there was a hole that was blown out in the engine/oil pan area. After speaking to multiple mechanics and to the Kia *********** the consensus was that in order for this to happen was some degree of internal mechanical engine damage that lead a piece of the engine to break loose and blow thru the engine block/oil pan area. We clearly documented and wrote that the engine oil was dirty and low prior to our service, and that the engine was making a ticking sound as well. These issues along with the wear and tear of the vehicle are likely the issues why the vehicle ended up the way it did. The following are pictures of the damage on a camera that we took when the vehicle came back, along with pictures of the paperwork we have of the original invoice and safety check form when the customer came back, but would not sign. Invoice:564417 Cost: $32.70 Charged:$92.70 Charged: $60 Day 1 - On April 4th, 2022 at 6:10pm, I drove into the Speed Oil Change Center located on *************************************************************. I drove in to get a standard oil change and after the service was complete, the service technician(******) overcharged me for the service. I brought this charge to his attention and he told me that there was no one at this location that would be able to process a refund for me. I then asked the technician what the next steps would be for me to receive a refund. He told me to come back tomorrow and the manager would be there to process the refund. Day 2 - I came back the next day and talked with the manager and he explained to me that the owner can only process refunds and that the owner would not be there till the next day. I thought that it was a bit odd that there was no one available to process a refund but I remained patient and agreed to come back the next day.Day 3 - I arrived at the location around 10:45 am and asked the manager(Manual) if the owner was there and again, he told me they were not. At this point, I started to grow suspicious of this operation along with being annoyed. The manager told me someone would call me later that day.I got a call from a representative and they told me that the refund has been processed. Day 4 - As I thought that this nightmare couldnt get any worse, I checked my bank account and saw that I was charged an additional amount of $60. Instead of refunding me $60, they charged me $60. (Now, they owe me $120) I instantly drove back up the to this place in rage and needed an answer for what was going on. No one seemed to have a resolution for this ongoing issue. I asked for the owner's name and email. They provided me with a name but no email. (*************). I would just like my refund back! I feel that I should receive the full amount that I paid all together as a courtesy for my inconvenience.($152.70)Business response

Hi Jaciento,
All these confusions were caused by my mistake as I'm not familiar to use the credit card machine. You are right and I refund you the total $152.70. Today I made another mistakes. As you can see in my attachment, there were 3 transactions with your credit card. 1st is to charge $152.70, 2nd is to void $152.70, and 3rd one is to refund $152.70. Sorry for making your credit card transactions messy. You should get $152.70 eventually. Any problem, please come to me directly at ************. Sorry for causing your big inconveniences.

On August 3, 2021 I went to 1 of this owner's 7 stores at ************************************ to get my oil changed, which was performed; but after leaving and getting several miles down the road and onto the freeway to head home, I start hearing lots of noise and noticed black things in my rear view mirrors coming from underneath my vehicle. When I pulled over to check, I see my skid plate underneath my car half way gone and hanging. The people at Speed Oil Change didn't put my skid plate back on properly, screws and nuts missing. I immediately called to report and even went down to file a written complaint and was told they would take care of it but every time I call even after sending a demand letter to the owner, I'm told he's not in and I still haven't gotten a response or resolve.
