If I could also I would give them a 0. I work in customer service and rely heavy on our reviews but this company is the most unreliable company I have ever known. We asked 2 months ago to get our toilet fixed and our shower knob and 2 months later and 3 trips both jobs are still Left incomplete. We’ve had to file complaints numerous times already and that’s the only way they respond but it’s also false promises. The plumber Tyler always says he will have to order parts or get back in touch and never does. I will be letting both all my family and friends and all 1,400 of my customers know not to go to CM Plumbing. As a Store Manager I am a palled that a place like this is still even running. Dear CM Plumbing please return our calls back and finish the job right first time around. Or maybe it’s time to find someone who knows how to do their job right cause it seems like no one here canCM Plumbing Services, Inc. Response

If I could give zero stars, I would. Ivan, the technician, insisted on modification that cost over $1,000, so my plumbing would fit the water heater he purchased, however, the parts that he purchased were not necessary or required by code. When asked him about it, he said, "he would not guarantee the work because he had to use all the parts" whether they were required or not by California Code, which he misquoted. He obviously did not know the code. It also obvious that Ivan wanted to pad the bill and defraud the home warranty company. Ivan was also very defensive and rude.CM Plumbing Services, Inc. Response

Mr. ****, with any water heater installation, modifications and bringing the new unit up to code are required. When the total is as high as yours, it's likely because you don't have code coverage on your warranty contract. When that is the case, we 100% work with our customers and we are sorry we weren't given the opportunity to work with you on the pricing. New water heaters come with a minimum of a 6 year warranty on them and a 30 day installation warranty. We are sorry to have not been able to work with you further but we appreciate your feedback. In the future, please feel free to contact our office at ###-###-#### or email us at ***************@gmail.com for the opportunity to solve the issue together.Customer Response

Miriam, I strongly recommend that your technicians and plumbers actually read and understand the California Code. I have pasted below for your reference. Please note that the drip pan and the $1,000 "modifications," which consisted of running pipe from drip pan to outside the foundation is NOT necessary. Our water heater was in the garage and was not in "an attic, furred space, living area or other location where leakage would result in damage to the building." Therefore, CM Plumbing is trying to "pad" the bill so to squeeze another $1,000 out of me or the warranty company. Your ignorant plumber, Ivan, said he had to put those parts on because "He already ordered them." Excuse me? He ordered unnecessary parts so he must put them on or you cannot guarantee that you installed the water heater properly??? What kind of BS excuse is that??? If Ivan had done his research AND ordered the proper parts, then there would have been no issues here. I am sorry you have an ignorant plumber that does not know the code, BUT you trying to blame all this on me OR my coverage from the warranty company is asinine and shows that you have no defense and could possibly be guilty of fraud. I suggest you do your research, like I have, before you speak. California Code18.12.030 Section 507.5 amended—Water heater safety pans. Section 507.5 of the 2019 California Plumbing Code is amended to read as follows: 507.5 Water heater safety pans. Each water heater located in an attic, furred space, living area or other location where leakage would result in damage to the building or its contents shall have a safety pan with drain. Safety pans shall be metal and be nominal two inches in diameter larger than the water heater, with a minimum depth of two inches. The drain pipe shall be three-quarter inch trade size minimum; shall terminate outside the building foundation or, where this is not practical or possible, at another location approved by the building inspector; and shall have a continuous minimum slope throughout its length of one-quarter inch, per foot away from the water heater. (Ord. 1854 § 8, (2010); Ord. 1889 § 9, (2013); Ord. 1933 § 9, (2016); Ord. 1969 § 11, (2019))Review from A. A.

CM pluming was chosen by my home warranty. They came out assessed the area and left. Never did a follow up call or email. The plumber did NOT check the PRV pressure regulator valve. My pressure it as 90 ! When it should be at 60-65. Horrible customer service, the receptionist didn’t take any accountability & directed me to open up an entire new claim with my home owners insurance because she had already closed this invoice. I asked why if there’s a 30 day warranty. Do NOT a recommend this plumbing company.CM Plumbing Services, Inc. Response

Ms. *******, you placed a claim for a leak, not an issue for pressure. Our technician diagnosed the leak coming from your neighbor’s side of the wall. He also assessed old water damage but no active leak in your garage. There was no mention of pressure issues on the claim or while he was there, when he serviced on March 30th. There is a 30 day warranty through the home warranty but it only applies to the item originally serviced, not just any plumbing throughout the 30 days. We closed the claim because there was nothing more for us to do on that claim. Since you have a completely different plumbing issue, you will need to place a new work order. This is the process through the warranty. You should review your contract and take any issues with their policies up with them.Customer Response

In response to Miriam receptionist for CM plumbers INC Though the home warranty hired this company for a leak it is STANDARD to check the water pressure . For example if the gas company goes out to check a problem the first thing they do is check the gas meter, it is standard. For the record I did call my home warranty back on 4/11/22 and they Sent CM plumbing a new request to come back and check the water pressure & still have not heard back to schedule an appointment however you have time to respond to this complaint. How about try to satisfy the customer rather than not take accountability and make excuses.CM Plumbing Services, Inc. Response

You clearly are not a plumber - it is not always standard to check to the pressure. Also note, we have not received a new work order from your warranty company regarding your pressure regulator - you may want to give them a call.Review from Linda R

Less than 1 star!! Worthless!! Home warranty referred me to CM Plumbing to clear pipes in upstair tub. I called Christine and she sent Tyler who came and cleared only the top screen (5 min job) and said the pipes were cleared. I called them back to request the pipes be snaked, explaining we had put liquid plumber down the pipes and the pipes needed to be snaked to get all the gunk out but, CM Plumbing wanted to charge me $175 on top of the home warranty, to snake the pipes! UGH!! Really. Worthless!!CM Plumbing Services, Inc. Response

We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the scope of work that was performed at your home. Please know that our technician went out to your home and did exactly what he was sent out to do. Clear a blockage which was caused by hair. We realize it wasn’t what you were expecting but keep in mind, he is the plumber, and his professional opinion did not find any reason to run the drain machine, as the line was clear and free flowing. He also noted running the snake through the type of piping in your home, without an active clog, could potentially put your pipes at risk for damage. In reviewing your contract, you will find that preventative maintenance is not something covered through the home warranty. Keep in mind, if the same issue occurs within 30 days, you do have a warranty and we would be happy to come back out to assist.
