My name is ************************* and I am writing this formal complaint against Paradise Village. We purchased this timeshare almost 10 years ago. First of all, the presentation was a joke and misleading. We were not informed of anything informational before the signing. Even after the signing, myself and my wife at the time had to call multiple times to get a copy of our signed agreement. Secondly, this unwanted timeshare has been strenuous on my family and I for quite some time now. All during a short four months in 2021, I went through a divorce and then my ex wife passed shortly after. My wife of 12 years had an unhealthy alcohol use, which unfortunately led to her passing of liver failure. This has been tremendously hard on me and the harassment of this timeshare has not helped! When I tried to get out of this timeshare, the manager herself told me to take a trip to the property and solicit passerbys to take over my membership. This was highly unprofessional and is not something I am interested in doing on a vacation, let alone after just suffering a major life event. I also had no intention of paying this year's maintenance fees. My ex wife had just passed and was not in a clear state of mind and paid them anyway. I want nothing to do with this timeshare. I am only interested in a full release of my contract. I was a faithful customer for a very long time up until recently due to a major life event. I am not asking for anything in return and the mortgage is paid off. I have requested multiple times for options on canceling my timeshare but receive no response from the resort.
