8/25/2022 - I took my truck in to have some work done on it and when I took it in and they did an inspection on what they would charge me they contacted me and told me and I said ok but asked if I could get a discount for being a veteran. They said yes and that was the guy victor the owners agent working for him that told me that. I left my truck there for almost a week and it was not done yet but I had a doctor appt. the following monday so on sat. I went down and picked it up and they said they needed a 1000.00 deposit so I gave it to them. I brought the truck back on monday and left it again. They had it all week again and this time it was a different guy that had helped me named Dan I think. Finally on Friday evening ******* called and said it was ready. When I went to pay the bill he said he was going to give me 10% or even 15% but when I paid the bill he had not taken anything off. When I got home and figured out the charges I saw that they had not given me the 10% so I went back today to take care of it. The owner was there and said he never approved that so he would not return any money to me. I told him his agents told me that and that I did not know he had to approve it so therfore he still owes me that discount it is almost 400.00. He did give me back the money that they charged for an oil change that I told them not to do. He gave me a check for that. I told him that I would be calling the Bureau of automotive repairs and fileing a complaint which I have done today as well as this.Initial Complaint

*** PLEASE REFERENCE CONFIRMATION #177****0 submitted on August 25, 2022. The complaint listed the incorrect location of the shop intended for the complaint. It should not have been Valvoline Instant Oil n Newton Highlands, MA. The information defaulted to the incorrect location. I am re-submitting the information for AAMCO Transmissions in Moreno Valley, Ca. I apologize for the inconvenience.*** I took my vehicle to AAMCO after my check engine ling came on. I trused the mechnics to be honest and share with me what was wrong with my car. I was given a diagnostic that included mechanical isssues and that I needed a transmission. I paid for the repairs and after picking up my vehicle and driving it, I noticed the same issues were present. My check engine light was no longer on but my car was still performing the same. I contacted AAMCO and took the car back. I paid over $2550 for a transmission and now, after taking the car back I was told I needed "spark plugs". This was never mentioned with the initial diagnostic. I was upset and decided to take my car to another auto mechanic shop. I was told it appears the check engine light was "turned off" but the repairs were not done. I ended up paying over $300 for spark plugs along with an oil change which I feel I should not have had to do. AAMCO mechanics were dishonest and it appears they charged me for a transmission that I may not have even needed. Had they mentioned I need the "spark plugs" replaced they should have replaced them first before suggesting I needed a transmission costing me over $2250.Initial Complaint

This vehicle had the transmission rebuilt on 3/20/21 due to gears slipping. The vehicle as of today has the same slipping problem with the gears and this shop after a 4500.00 for the rebuild is now in need of a complete replacement not even a year later but the vehicle is 1K miles over the allowed 18K per the warranty but within the 18 months. After spending 4500.00 for a rebuild trans less than a year later needs a complete replacement now, not some repairs but a complete replacement and that is if they did a complete rebuild. This should not be the case. Also, the shop owner said he did not own the shop when the trans was replaced, but I feel AAMCO should repair this trans as a curtesy, this in my opinion is due to some poor workmanship or they did not complete the repairs that were invoiced. I am also filing a complaint with the local Auto Repair Bureau to have them look into this, hoping for some resolution to this. Just another note we also used AAMCO to install a rebuilt engine, and when this was completed, they quoted me one price and when I arrived to pick up the car it was a 1,000.00 higher, so they did additional repairs with no authorization. Then I had to bring the car back due the engine staling the basically they completed a tune up for another 375.00 to 380.00 with no authorization. This put me a position where, what am I going to say no take the parts out I did not authorize, so I paid on both occasions so I can just get the car back on the road. Now they tell me the Brake Vacuum pump is leaking and that would not be covered under the engine warranty even though it mounts to the engine and they had to R&R that unit when installing the new motor. Nothing but issues. Please help
