I used this mover to move us out of our condo. The Movers did a good job. My husband has medical issues so I did the move. They held my stuff in storage, as my husband and I were homeless for a couple of months due to the fact that we are Seniors, living now on Social Security. My husband can no longer work and I had fraud (they cleaned out all my savings/maxed out my credit card). As a result we planned to move away from ***********due to high cost of living-but we could not handle the cost of moving away. We did end up finding a tiny place (1 bdrm) and finally was able to get our stuff from storage. I paid approx $*****. to move, $*** per month for storage. The move in was awful. Partially becuase our place is small, but I gave them instructions @ 2- boxes to hold off moving them. In addition, they damaged a find piece of furniture, bashed the wall corner, ripped off the paint. At the end when I asked "where is the TV" oh they finally brought it in. However they forgot to give us the TV plug!!! In addition the 2-boxes ( with my husbands medicine) were put way in the back of our patio behind dozens of large/heavy boxes! We are slowly trying to move things, Gave away most of our furniture to charity and are trying to sell some to make som e money. We finally got thru all the boxes and are missing a large standing lamp and several other smaller items. I called to speak to them 3 or 4 times, left several messages however they NEVER return my calls. At the end of the move, they wanted to charge me an additionsl $1***. however the guy kept making mistakes on the final cost , so I paid them only $***. Finally, I keep getting emails from threatening me from a company called : ****************** stating: "f we do not receive payment in 60 days we have to turn it in to the collections dept. and hurt your credit!!! We are struggling, no doubt about it- but having to take care of my husband, move and try to buy food and gas, I am overwhelmed. Please help!!Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2022/05/17) */ We did everything in our power to help her with her moves out of state. She committed to her move to ************** and the date given to her for the pickup out of our storage. She cancelled the move 2 days before the pickup which caused our long distance carrier time and mileage for the *********** pickup. She rescheduled the move to a small 1 bedroom apartment in ***********. We completed the move and at the conclusion she only paid $*** on a credit card and said the had no money. Leaving her with a balance of $***. Due to the lack of none payment we are unable to provide and service to the alleged damages. If payment is rendered we will provide all contractual services. Based on our tariff we must be paid for our services before repairs can be made. Consumer Response /* (3000, 8, 2022/05/21) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I paid them $*****. for the initial move out. Than I had to pay $*** for storage of belongings. My husband has issues and Iam supporting him , we both live on Soical Security. We slept in our car for 2 night until a friend helped us out. I used all my savings to pay for this move , nhe is gouging me. The move in was completely irresponsible, unpfrofessional ( they forgot to bring in the TV until I asked for it) and yes it is an extremely tiny place , all we could afford. Because I had to pay all the rent anf food ( we are eatin one meal a day) We found a charity that was going to pay this bill on our behalf ( The ********************) they rejected us because my husband's friend sent him money to live on and they think we don't need the money !!!! Finally, after having top open all of our large boxes ourselves, we had to pay additonal money ( we borrowed) to help us move the heavy furniture into our living room!! This has been the worst move of ur life- we re also missing a standing glass mirror ( large) and a Channel Back Wing Chair (large) how could they not deliver these items? Also , there is an entirely differnt company he has contacting me and threatening me that is not Walter's Moving- I sent pictures of the damage as the company refuses to return my calls or correspond directly with me. The woman at this other comp'any of theirs (??) said she knew nothing about them? Why could they not call me directly or return any of my calls right after the move? This company is shady sorry. The combination of this awful experience and what we are dealing with makes me strongly feel we are being treated badly, and the cost is way overboard. We paid all the expenses involved in your move. We paid all the employees, gas, and mileage from out storage facility. We also tried calling you numerous times and you didn't respond. I contacted Walter's in February and he gave me a quote to move my items across the country from CA to NC. My items were picked up on 4/17/21 and it is now 5/26/21 (40 days) and they have never been delievered. I have been getting the run around (broken vehicle, towed vehicle, driver quit, driver was arrested, items in tow yard.) Those examples are not made up by me, those have all been shared with me during the month they have reported back to me over the phone. At no time has the owner of the company stepped forward and said he would make sure it got done. He said my items were a "priority" but has since stopped all communication with me. His original binding contract of cost stated that it would take 7-14 business days from the time of pick up. I have paid $**** up front and was planning to pay an additional $**** when my items were dropped. I am under so much stress, and the company is putting forth no effort at getting the job done.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/06/11) */ We picked up the clients shipment on 4/17/21. We were in route to NC and the truck had a major engine problem. Then we tried contacting other carriers that we work with. Due to the pandemic hundreds of businesses have cut back or shut down. We finally located a carrier that we have worked with for over 15 years and have given hundreds of shipments for delivery with no problems. He offered to take this shipment. While in route he had and accident and the truck turned over causing losses. The items were reloaded to another truck and were delivered. The sub contractor has his own insurance and we also have a claims adjuster that will resolve this problem. We apologize for the inconvenience and problems this has caused and want to make things right for our customer.
