It is not a surprise that this establishment has a 1.08 rating. I booked an appointment with them last year and was going to pay out of pocket. Please make sure you know how to get to the video call and attend the call. I was not in the best of mental health, unable to attend the call. Make sure that you read the no-show policy. They do not call you or e-mail or allow to reschedule. They will charge the full amount to your credit card. I asked for a discount and they said that they provided me one, but I later found out that they have charged me 1.5 times the consultation fee - the original fee + discounted late fee. They charged me again at a discounted rate but did not provide refund for the 1st payment. HardLoop payment has really bad customer service and will provide you with varied reasons for not refunding the amount every time you send an email. If you are looking for a therapist who really cares, do not visit Happier Living. You will have a sadder living!!Review from Brian N

I too have encountered horrible treatment from the billing department. Happier Living did not verify my health insurance in a timely manner and as a result, I attended a session that was out of network. They are insisting that I pay the full $500 out of pocket, despite being at fault for not verifying insurance in a timely manner. As an HR professional well versed in insurance/benefits, I know that the $500 would be a windfall for them because they would not be to collect this much via an insurance claim. I have read so many reviews below about their lack of empathy for those of us who reached out to them for help with mental health. Instead of helping me with my mental health situation, they just made it worse by insisting that I pay the entire $500 instead of being willing to reduce/negotiate a more reasonable fee. It makes me lose faith in the mental health industry when providers like Happier Living treat their patients as mere opportunities to make a bigger profit.Review from Lynnette O

Problematic portal. Can't get through on phone on hold for 30 minutes plus. Person did not have a command of English language. Try to communicate through email to provider. Message referring me back to portal which I have communicated endless times, I can nit access. Tech keeps saying it is fixed. Still locked out. BEYOND FRUSTRATING. CLEAR SIGN they are NOT providing me with "Happier Living"! ??Happier Living Response

Absolutely the WORST establishment I have EVER encountered in my entire life. First, when calling, you are automatically prompted to go online to schedule your first appt through their portal. I thought it was strange that I couldnt speak with someone to schedule, but followed the instructions. They had a list of providers, and you had to pick one with the availability that fits your schedule. Prior to the appt happening, I got charged a co-pay. I thought: why am I paying the copay before services are rendered? Then I met with the scheduled provider, who informed me within 5 minutes that she couldnt provide me with the care I needed because Im on a controlled medication. This is why I was confused about being routed online before speaking with someone to get the care I needed.I then had to jump through hoops to get a refund on the co-pay that was auto drafted prior to the meeting. They said they would waive the cancellation fee, but I didnt cancel, it was their error for prompting patients to book on their own without knowledge of what the provider could/could not provide. I then got an email reminding me of ANOTHER appt (that I didnt book) with said provider. I responded to the email asking if this was standard protocol booking appts without the patients knowledge or consent and to cancel the appt. Never got a response. The day before the appt I got a text confirming the next appt with the provider who couldnt provide the care I (which I never booked). I had to call the 888 number. After being on hold trying to reach a human for ages, it also asks you to stay on the line after the call ends to do a survey which I was planning to do. I explained the situation and she said all appts are automatically recurring. I told them to cancel all appts indefinitely with Happier Living. After the call, she conveniently didnt hang up and I waited 22 minutes to get to the survey. Worst patient experience of my life. Stay far away from this establishment!Happier Living Response

While the doctors at Happier Living ************************************* were fantastic, my experience with their billing department, Hardloop, was unfortunately very negative. For five days, I spent over four hours on the phone with Hardloop customer service trying to resolve an incorrect billing issue. Despite my background in healthcare claims and appeals, they repeatedly insisted the $500 charge for an August 23rd appointment was correct, even though my insurance covered all other appointments during that period. Both Hardloop representatives and management dismissed my concerns, claiming the billing was accurate and the responsibility was mine. My insurance confirmed they received no claim for the disputed date. Thankfully, after persistent calls, I reached someone at my previous insurance company who will contact Happier Living/Hardloop to verify the missing claim. As someone with mental health concerns, including PTSD, dealing with this billing error caused significant stress and frustration. Mental health providers should be working to support their patients, not adding to their challenges. I urge Happier Living to improve their billing processes and customer service training to ensure these issues don't cause further distress for patients with mental health needs.Happier Living Response

This company is a scam. They'll ask you what insurance you have, make an appointment, then tell you the doctor doesn't take your insurance. Then, if you cancel the appointment, they charge you a $500 cancellation fee for THEIR mistake, even if it's several days before the appointment. I genuinely believe every person who works for this company and has any degree of awareness that this is how the business works deserves to suffer in prison.Happier Living Response

Billing nightmare.Extremely difficult to get anyone on the phone. They Emailed me a horrific bill after months of visits stating that although they approved me my insurance didnt go through and the months of billing was reversed to my out of pocket. After numerous calls and emails and tons of stress for this avoidable situation we came to an amount due. This was completely obnoxious, time-consuming and stressful. I warn everyone Triple check your insurance yourself as this companies bookkeeping and billing made a mess for my wife and I.Happier Living Response

The absolute worst. Charged me the morning of my ********* to have the practitioner no- show. Their policy is to charge anyone who is too late or a no-show to an appt, and yet they refused to uphold themselves to their own standards by reimbursing me for my time by rescheduling a free first session. They said since they gave me back my OWN money, they owe me nothing. I'm a doctor, and I would balk at treating any patients I do not show up for like this.Happier Living Response

Less than 0 stars from me.My therapist was wonderful, but the business office is absolutely horrendous.I was told & it was confirmed multiple times, that my copay for teletherapy is $0. I had a 3 way call with them, my ****************** after they tried to say my therapist with them was out of network. We had it all resolved, until I started getting emails saying my card would be charged $25 copays for each of our visits (approximately 10 of them). I went around in circles with them, even sending them emails that they sent me, telling me my copay was $0.I'm on disability. I have very limited income & purposely chose teletherapy due to the $0 copay. They submitted all of my claims as office visits, even though all of them were either phone or zoom visits.I was told they had a legal obligation to submit them that way. They are a predatory practice & only care about the money. They caused me so much ********** mental health suffered because of what they did.My therapist left the practice because of how they treated ********* clients.I will be contacting the state insurance **************** also will file a grievance with my insurance company so they stop referring people to Happier Living. What they are doing is criminal. The last woman I spoke with about my account told me she was glad I didn't have any future appointments with them. What an awful thing to say to someone. I will tell my friends, family & the world to avoid Happier Living if they want to improve their mental health & not get robbed in the process.Happier Living Response
