      Speedway Movers was contracted for a domestic move from California to Georgia through ************ Moving Broker. Our belongings were picked up on September 13 2021. Delivery to out new address was said to be made at the most 21 business days later, which would have been October 12, 2021. We were informed we would get notice 24 hours before delivery. We have contacted both ************ and Speedway since October 11 2021 Movers only to get the run around. Unfullfilled promises that someone would contact us with information. We have left messages when we could, but there has been multiple disconnected phone calls after being placed on hold. Customer Service is non existent.

      I contracted through Gold Standard to move my things at ******************************************** **********************************************. The price on the binding estimate was $*******. Gold Standard hired Speedway Movers out of LA. The movers missed their scheduled pick up dates several times only to arrive late at night and did a very quick careless loading. Upon "completion," the place was a mess and they had left several things behind, even a mattress. After everything was loaded on 8/26/21. they gave me an additional bill for $*******! Doubling the actual bill, plus they said delivery would take 30 days, also never previously mentioned. There was nothing I could do as the new owners took ownership that night. It is now 9/27/21 and nothing has arrived. No one from Speedway returns calls, texts or emails. Now I am beginning to wonder if this could be considered, "Theft?"

      Dear BBB - ************ backed me into a corner the day they dropped off my items and held my items hostage. They told me if I did not pay and extra $340 I could not have my items. When I asked why they said "we have to pay our workers" as two men, not the person who drove the van, moved my household items in. I have attempted on multiple occasions to settle with this company. Please note, I believe that this company has engaged in unethical business practices as they worked with Priority Vanlines out of *************** *******, which is now shut down. Attached is the insurance claim filed for $1548.95 plus documentation of the additional $340 the day of the move in. Can you please help me with a reasonable settlement?       They have not responded to me. Please continue to help me resolve this issue and advise if I should contact the ********************* of transportation as well. Kind regards, *********************
