We have discussed with a few contractors and decided to hire Home 2 Renovate to replace the roof (including fascia board) of our 8-unit apartment complex. They are definitely not the cheapest, and I would consider their price is slightly above the medium range, based on the quotes provided by the other contractors. The main reason that we decided to engage with their service was the knowledge and commitment of the owner (*****). After the initial walk through and quote estimate provided by the project manager, we asked if ***** can come by and perform another thorough inspection and provided us with his honest opinion on the roof condition of the apartments, and we still have not decided to move forward at that point. The owner did come and spent almost 2-hour to check on the roof conditions and provide us with the more detail explanation as what need to done. We ended up selecting Home 2 Renovate as the contractor as the trust and sincerity were established during the 2 weeks of discussion. The actual project lasted for about 8 days and the crew was extremely professional and did a great job on the new roof and cleaning up the debris and trash in the end of each workday. The ** / management are always available and provides us with daily progress update (with pictures). We are pleased with the overall roofing project and would definitely recommend their services. Again, a big thumb up to the crew as well as the ** and Owner.Home 2 Renovate, Inc. Response

Thank you and it was a pleasure doing business with you. Glad we met and delivered on all expectations. The real superstars of this large project was the crew and carpenters who worked efficiently to finish ahead of schedule and pass all inspections. Your roof system warranty has been registered with the shingle manufacturer as well. Once again, thank you for your trust and business.Review from Mitchell J

Originally I had Home 2 Renovate replace 2 large windows in my master bedroom. They did a professional job so I had them look at my second story deck and outside staircase. Home 2 Renovate rebuilt my second story deck and outside staircase that were rotted and falling apart. Their quote was less then two others and they did great work. When normal minor problems happened they were quickly and professionally addressed. Finally, I was so happy with their work on the deck that I had them paint the outside of my house that was complicated by a lot of dry rot. They did major prep work and painted the house in ********. Three Jobs and all three done well.Review from Sevak C

Hello there. Accurate review will take several hours to describe how amazing and professional are all employees of this company. Not only they replaced the windows in the timely manner, but completed the job with absolute professionalism.Review talks about good quality, professionalism, responsiveness and being on time. What about Good value? Should say GREAT VALUE. Yes, there are companies that will do it for lesser price. However, we are talking about professionalism, warranty, being licensed and insure and much more. What makes it Great not just good is their financing options. For instance I choose 10 months with 0% interest. I can go on and on and on. However, will just say thank you Home 2 Renovate and thank you ********************* and *********************** ( just to name a few). Thank you all.Review from James F

I hired Home 2 Renovate to repair/replace the fascia boards, stucco and paint on my house. From start to finish H2R was professional and very thorough. I had a project manager at my house at the end of each day checking to see if I had any questions and how things were going.(Rare, nowadays) The crew that was onsite did a great job as well. They cleaned up at the end of each day and their work was top notch. They also took attention to detail and went above what they were asked to do. I would definitely hire H2R again for future projects.Review from Julio Alexander S

Very bad experience with Home 2 Renovate, they coming to say "my house not need plywood the others companies are lie", "we are a lot experience", "you not will pay more money". then the city inspector don't approved because "the house need plywood" and home2renovate came to say sorry you need to pay for the wood. the original price was incremented +$3000. that was on Thursday 29 march and Home2Renovate left my roof without protection until Monday 03 April my attic finish with a lot of dust. when another company came to offer a better price and the plywood included just one date after sign with Home2Renovate, i tried to cancel but another manager are came to my home to say "you not need plywood", "you was saved you of a very bad company". finally the project was done but the subcontractor left a lot nails around and inside of my garage, home2renovate say we will send someone to clean but anybody never arrived. i have a little kid, i can't wait until they have time, i did clean all. another note: please don't share your bank card information to home2renovate i shared my credit card for pay the extra amount and only one day later my card was used for try get giftcards.Home 2 Renovate, Inc. The executives and managers of Home 2 Renovate have looked into this customers complaints. We did not solicit Mr. Juarez for his business. He called and inquired about our company and services which we provided. He decided to choose us as the best choice. He had multiple quotes and knew a great deal of information about his home, the condition of the roof, and requirements by the city to stay in compliance with building codes in taking on this project. Prior to going into contract and during our inspection we verified that the home has a plywood roof deck. We estimated and agreed to only repairing damaged areas as required to pass * deck inspection by the city inspectors. Upon the cities inspection, they have recently changed the building code only in that city. The building code that they enforced upon us as the builder as a requirement to add sheets of plywood over the existing roof deck. We cannot do anything about this situation but abide by the rules that are governed by the cities building requirements. Not all building codes are the same nor do they all apply in every jurisdiction. Home 2 Renovate can understand the customers disappointment of being required to bring the house up to code and the additional costs that come with it. We don't make those rules the city does. At the point of sale, we do not have the permit nor can we know wheat the city inspector will require to enforce code as those change periodically. This does happen and very normal. To receive a one star does not represent how well his roof will preform & look. I'm happy to say the work was done well. We cleaned up and he signed a job completion certificate of satisfaction. We passed **** inspection, and registered his roofs lifetime warranty with the material manufacturer. We feel the customer was very knowledgeable and did his due diligence. His review is unjust and not a reflection of the work we preform. Its simply someone who experienced the sting of additional costs associated with re-roofing his home. I too, can understand that the additional costs is always a hard pill to swallow, but he would have had to deal with this matter with any roofer he would have chosen. Last we take the highest level of security when dealing with customers sensitive information and there was no evidence found of any funny business with his or any customers sensitive information. I hope Mr. Juarez can realize that this review leaves a unfair representation of the work we perform and reputation all our employees have worked so hard for. Our attempts to reach out to you have failed. Mr. Juarez, please feel free to call the office and speak to any of the executives/owners of the company to further discuss this matter and come to a fair resolution. We are reasonable. Please be the same. Thank you.Review from Kim S

Bad experience with Home 2 Renovate, Inc. and the subcontractor they used for our roof replacement: Advanced Roofing Systems Inc. First there were a number of service issues and condescending or rude communication issues throughout the job. The biggest issue however was that the new roof did not pass ********** by the LA Dept of Building & Safety for a few reasons. The most egregious was that, during the demolition phase of the roof replacement, the team pulled up electrical conduits which disconnected our HVAC system without warning. Rather than give us the option of delaying the roof work, they just proceeded to focus only on the roof. The inspection specifically called out the electrical conduit disruption as a reason it failed. However, Home 2 Renovate refused to pay any more than half for the full electrical repair. This was after getting multiple bids from BBB accredited electricians. Also, the offer to pay half the repair came with a clause saying we could not leave negative ratings or reviews. No thanks, I would rather warn others about their business practices and pay for the full repair myself. We will never work with Home 2 Renovate or Advanced Roofing Systems again.Home 2 Renovate, Inc. Response

Home 2 Renovate and our affiliates have been in many different situations over 30yrs of business. We want potential customers to know that undertaking any roofing project comes with a great deal of understanding from each of our customers. On these large projects, we sometimes encounter and have to work around such things as antiquated electrical, HVAC systems, hidden and unforeseen damages. Normal part of the business. Each city has its own building codes that we must abide by. On occasion, some roof jobs may have a correction notice in which we take care of. On this customers job, we had to work around some electrical conduit with antiquated wiring. We inspected ourselves and paid her for a third party inspection for her satisfaction and nothing was good enough for her. She was looking for a contractor who she would try to use this situation to get more work than necessary. We found this out easily when we spoke to the electricians she chose (and of course the most expensive). The electricians provided us a itemized list of the work quoted and it was more than just the simple repair of the electrical conduit repair. This immediately gave us the evidence that she was trying to swindle us for more work. Thank god for doing business the honest way with a detailed contract that prevents homeowners as such, from taking advantage of a small family and friend owned and operated company.Customer Response

The cheaper electrician you wanted to use never visited the house, so the estimate was only based on the verbal description Home 2 Renovate provided. I also removed the extra work originally requested to the bare minimum to restore power, but nice try in playing the victim.Home 2 Renovate, Inc. Response

Home 2 Renovate has been around a long time and has many other trade professionals such as licensed electricians whom we consult with in these rare circumstances. The "cheaper", but no less qualified electrician we would have used was given all the estimates that this customer had obtained and provided to us along with pictures. If it wasn't for our "cheaper" electrician whom advised us, we may have been swindled by this customer to pay for pre-existing conditions and additional add-on items that were requested by this customer or un-necessarily recommended by her expensive electrician thinking he has a blank check and a for sure job. Why would a company who's in the trade pay full retail price for any work we may be responsible for. Home 2 Renovate is no victim, we are diligent and experienced enough to read through the lines of this customers attempts to get free work on our dime. Home 2 Renovate is satisfied with the end result as always...We fulfilled the contracted work, repaired the electrical in which we were responsible for with the electrician of her choice and closed the roof permit. At the end of the day, Home 2 Renovate is satisfied and hope this customer can put this behind her and move on as we have. Best wishes to her.Review from Ruel B

The estimators were good, presentation was convincingly great.. paint materials to be used were discussed and show the thickness and quality to deflect heat (cool-wall product). However, when done, pain didn't get even close to the presentation thickness seen during the sample material presentation.
Assistant manager came to discuss additional wood needed , not even looking thru the entire balcony, standing still staring at small rotten wood , and tag a price for additional 8k. When I told him to stop the work , he then brought it down to 4K (just for a piece of beam?)
I told him I have to discuss with wife, but he wanted me to sign, so he was trying to put guilt trip on me saying he drove all the way down to our place to check... I said, that was a cheap way of excuse since it is his job to be present when needed, and the replacement of rotten wood was part of the original project for 14k already... he wanted to make 8k more.
Project manager, shows up but doesn't inspect if the materials being used are according to agreement. The annoying part towards the end was, he was trying to make me sign off the project even the workers still have lots to do, so he won't have to comeback the next day. And he did not do a walk through...
Shoutout:
The father and son workers (****** and ******) are good and very professional and knowledgeable on what they do and needs to be fixed/do (very recommendable), as well as Sebastian the estimator who took time to measure and inspect for a close to accurate estimation.
The PM seemed not knowing the scope of the project. Coming to the site not knowing what the estimator has prepared. That's why the outcome, though looking good, was missing the expected cool-wall looks we signed on during presentation.
Another thing, I asked for a minor change, the PM called the owner and I heard him say without measuring, to charge another 1k. I did not go for it.
The bottom line, besides the workers, whom deserve 5 rating, I think management and owner are irresponsible and not paying attention to detail AND OVER PRICING. We paid almost 19K for the exterior-over-the-garage-balcony project and the deck-flooring replacement was not even included.... A riff-offHome 2 Renovate, Inc. Response

We always aim to deliver quality work throughout and at the end of any project we take on; hence this customers "shoutout" to our crews (the real stars of any job we perform) as he mentioned above.
The owners of H2R spoke with this customer and he said "the crew cleaned up well daily, the quality of there workmanship 5 stars". We were baffled by this 3 star review.
Our project managers had nothing but good notes and interactions with this customer. Most compelling thing was he signed a job completion certificate at the end of the project and checked off all boxes for satisfaction, catalog referrals, and would recommend us to his friends & family.
He probably doesn't realize how this affects the moral of the company that delivered a solid product and quality work, despite us working with him on the costs of additional work needed and requested by him.
If your reading this judge us by the many happy customers. That's what you'll get with us. Satisfaction.Review from Richard M
