I ordered a rental in advance and had confirmed said rental , that said unlimited miles in their site , only to go pick up the car and be told I cant take the car anywhere besides the city I rented it in . So as I was trying to figure things out a manager came to ask me whats going on and I told him that i rented a car because Im going out of town at which time he tried to help me but couldnt and in turn he said I need to reach out to Priceline a 3 rd party company I rented the car through for a refund . As I reached out to Priceline as well as car *************************** I was then told U Save didnt want to refund the $135.00 .Initial Complaint

I rented a 7-person SUV with U-Save June 16th through June 20th. Upon arriving at the airport it was incredibly difficult to locate their shuttle and it was delayed over an hour. When it finally arrived, the driver was rude and there wasnt enough room on the van for the number people waiting, so people were forced to continue to wait in the 96 degree heat.Upon arriving at the facility, I had to wait an additional 45 minutes in line. When I finally reached the agent he was also incredibly rude. He told me that they didnt have the 7-person SUV that I reserved, and instead I would be given a minivan. When I noted that I specifically did not want a minivan and that I booked this company because of the promise of SUVs he stared at me blankly. I asked if they had a fleet of SUVs and if this was a bait and switch. This question made him so angry that he threw my license and credit card at me and told me to go rent from someone else. I told him that I had traveled with my entire family (including 3 small children since 4am) and we needed to leave with a vehicle. He gave us a broken down minivan with a broken taillight, busted tires, it was filthy inside, was missing panels, etc. When I called to complain they were rude and refused to help, eventually hanging up on me and screening my calls.Eventually, one of the tires exploded on the highway. They refused to send roadside assistance. Telling me that I needed to figure out away back to their headquarters and that another car would not be provided. Worse yet, they wanted me to provided a new tire to sit beside the bald busted other tires. This company is so bad that I had to ****** to see if they are a real company. They appear to be full of scam artists.Initial Complaint

Dates concerned and amount of the service: 26 april 2025 - 4 may 2025. We rented a car for $258.48 (via internet, using Wisecars) After our flight delay, the LAX U-Save Green Motion rental agency was already closed upon arrival, with no solution provided by ************ / U-Save *********** on the phone. We had to pay two **** rides ($58.75 and $36.90) to reach our home and later to come back pick up the car (ruining a morning of our trip) no support or refund was offered, no apologies either. At pick-up, despite having ****************** (compliant with California state laws) and coverage through our international credit card, we were aggressively forced to pay an additional $300 for insurance, under threat of not being given the vehicle. Once on the road, the car turned out to be unsafe: the tires were visibly mismatched (three different brands), and despite appearing superficially fine, the rear tire exploded suddenly on the 3rd of May, on the highway, causing us to momentarily lose control in dangerous traffic in a desert highway. The company dismissed it as a road hazard without proper inspection while we presented them with a picture of the tire. Their only answer was a 20% discount for a future rentalabsolutely unacceptable and insulting given the risks, expenses, and distress caused. All these issues piled up day after day, but the tire blowout was the final straw that turned our trip into a nightmare (we lost two more days because of the tire). Their response afterwards was first non existent (customer service never answered me after a whole week) and the one I got through the website was insulting and dismissive. After all this, I realized that if I had read the ****** reviews beforehand, I would have seen that these kinds of scams and abusive practices appear to be their usual way of doing business. I demand U-Save a full refund of the $300 insurance, **** expenses, and compensation for the unsafe and traumatic rental that wasted 3days of our tripInitial Complaint

Our rental was booked through Kayak and we chose U Save for the simple reason that they were open 24 h/day and for the fact that ours was a late flight. Our estimated rental price for 10 days was around 370$(Cad) initially. As recommended by the ***** we purchased insurance which was with ******* at the cost at 164$(Cad). We also brought a insurance card from our ins. company which is ************* and covers us in ****** and in the **. We arrived at their location around 10h30 pm., the place was busy enough. They immediately told us that our 2 insurance policies were no good and that we could not get a rental if we didn't purchase insurance through them. They then imposed the daily toll fee of 14$(US) a day saying that most tolls don't take cash and that we'd end up paying more later if charged. We were now at double the price we thought we'd pay. Once the documents were signed electronically, we asked for the papers and they replied that it was gonna be sent to our email. The car was then brought up and they said we were good to go. No walk-through was done with us but we did walk around and took notice of a scuff on the front bumper passenger side, a chip in the windshield and how dirty it was especially the outside of the vehicle. We tried to get their attention but they were already serving other customers. It was late, so we decide to leave. As we were leaving we noticed that the car was only at 3/4 of gas and not full as supposed to be.Come 10 days later, dropping off the rental at 7 am full of gas and cleaner than when we first got it, the same ~ my husband was wanting to somewhat mention about the condition of the vehicle upon pick up, the guy was brushing him off saying "it's all good, you're good to go". The next day, we had a pending charge of 585$ therefore we called to be told that it was probably a mistake and that the account was at 0. Next day we had been charged, called again to be told it was for the windshield. Big scammers!!Initial Complaint

On Dec 11th at around 5:40pm I booked a reservation on Expedia for a rental car with U-Save since they were advertising cheap rentals for as low as $6 a day. I paid $77 for rental car protection and the remaining balance included $36 for the rental for 6 days and $28.10 for taxes and fees for a total of $64.10 due at the counter upon pick up. When I got to the counter, the *** first asked for $500 deposit for insurance. I told him that I paid the $77 for insurance and he said that that was only for ********** affiliated with U-save. I was confused but gave my debit card. When I presented my debit card to pay the deposit, he then says that since you have a debit card and not a credit card, the deposit is $2500. I told him that *** already p***aid online and it doesnt mention $500 or $2500 deposit. He refused to give me a rental so I cancelled my booking and had to wait for a shuttle back to the airport. I provided my receipt below.Initial Complaint

Confirmation #APRL069668. Booked ******* camry or similar" far in advance. Then, one day before my reservation I received an email that indicated my reservation had been changed to "kia *** or similar". I did not request this change. These cars are not equivalent or similar. Kias are noto***usly terrible, unsafe cars. I emailed the company and did not receive a response. I attempted to call but was told by the woman who answered that she was busy and to try to call later, before hanging up. It is too last minute for me to make other arrangements so I will have to keep the rental car, which is probably why this terrible company felt that they could get away with this bait & switch scam.Initial Complaint

I rented a car for $111.02 which I was charged for. The rental car company then charged my credit card an additional $27.50 for parking and then $50.00 for an unknown charge. I called and the representative and she said it could be for cleaning but didn't know. I returned the car spotless and she said she would have to ask someone else what the charge is for but they will not respond to my email or calls and will not give an explanation or refund this miscellaneous charge.Initial Complaint

This company lies to you! First, they charged me for services I didn't want or need, when I asked the man to decline services not needed or wanted, he told when then you cant take the car. I was in ton for an emergency so Obviously I had not choice and thought I could resolve the issue later. If that was not bad enough they also changed me $500 deposit that I was told would be retuned as soon as I returned the car. I have a few times to be laughed at by customer service by a named ******** each time. The 2nd time I called to ask the status of the refund he sarcastically told me to read my contract that it would take 10 business days for the refund to process and in additional he out in a request. Well, its been over ************************************************************************************************************************ When I asked to speak with a manager he laughs at me, this is how I know its the same man answering the phone, tells me that there are no managers that he is the only one there. This company is a scam, fraudulent...whatever you want to call them. They are definitely not conducting business in a professional manner and I believe they hope you forget about your deposit so they can keep it.Initial Complaint
