Scam artists that prey on grieving pet owners. We had a 13 year old, end of life cycle Pit Bull that we brought in with severe pain to a Woodland Hills, ** VCA. They immediately tried to leverage and used hardball tactics to try to obtain $16,000 from us for exploratory surgery. The dog had final stage prostate cancer discovered in a blood test and exambut instead, they thought we looked rich and could ****** the funds from suckers, not giving us the blood tests and exam results until they were sure we werent biting on surgery. When we balked at $16,000 (we did not have it), they lowered their price to us, which sent up red flags. It turns out he had less than 1% chance of survival. In the end, none of us get to stay here forever, and that includes Fido the dog or ****** the cat. As a great number of Americans choose to bypass the process of parenthood and, instead, invest emotionally in pets, I can imagine this scenario will continue to worsen, taking advantage of these folks that care derply about their pets. VCA, shame on you, for not giving proper medical advice (recommending to put our pet down) and instead, going for the throat and preying on pet owner grief to leverage peoples credit cards and finances, many of us being put into financial collapse over it. Makes no sense.

Where's the negative stars. I feel wrong leaving even one star! Took my dog there because he was in extreme pain. Was told it was age related and sent home with pain pills. Took him to a REAL doctor to have him put to sleep. REAL doctor looks at him and tells me "He has Lyme Disease " and runs tests on him. His test results came back perfect but for Lyme Disease! I wouldn't trust this office with a gold fish!

Re: ****** VCA Animal hopspital, Last minute office visit cancelation. I had scheduled a consultation for ***************** with Dr. ********************** at the ****** location on Monday, February 19th, **** at 11:00 am due to an upper respiratory infection. After waiting for a long time for this appointment, I received a call on February 15th, **** at 6:00 pm informing me that my dog's consult visit had been cancelled. I had cancelled another internist visit and two personal doctor visits to keep this appointment, and it is unacceptable that the hospital was unable to offer me another provider. My pet's health is not being taken seriously, and the first available appointment was not until mid-March. The office staff did not show any empathy or were not trained enough to handle any conflict. As we are in *******, this hospital should have better rules with providers. My dog is still sick, and we are delaying her care when she is fighting for her life.

They are extremely expensive. when I first starting going to VCA they had 1/2 price vaccines if you went in on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Then all of a sudden the ********* evolved. It covers vaccines, unlimited visits and a dental however when your pet passes away and you think you can cancel the care club think again. One of my pets passed away in May and March was the beginning Month of a new year for the care club. They said I would either have to pay $800 fir tge vaccines and the exams or I would have to continue to pay the monthly cost which at that time it was $99 for a senior. I continued with VCA with my current pet but for some reason the dental went up so the care club cost went up to $166 a month. This doesn't include extractions which when I came to pick up my dog I owed $800...Recently I went in because I was concerned about a large bump on the side of my dogs head. The vet quoted me a price of $1500 to remove it. That was the last straw. I have 1 more month to pay the $166 and that's it. I went to another vet at a different clinic. He said the bump does not need to be removed. He took my dog off of a monthly medicine saying that was a waste of money. Shop around. I love my dog but like my husband said "We don't own a lexus we own expensive vet care...shop around!

Total rip-off! When I asked questions about their pricing policy, I was told by the attendant that she did not feel safe and left the room. The doctor came in and told us to leave.

My granddaughter took her cat ***** to this animal hospital due to an infection or something going on in the rectal area. They charged her over $970 total the cat is in terrible pain the infection is still running rampant they have done nothing except give a couple of antibiotics shots. I called it was on a Saturday and was told that the doctor was not in and that since the cat seem to be aggressive which vets are supposed to be able to handle that type of situation that they didn't have anyone that would treat her I asked them so is she supposed to sit there and scream in pain for the full weekend because ************* or whatever her name is would not be back until Tuesday they told me that they would contact another vet there and ask for a medication. I told them that would be fine something to ease the cats pain I said in due to the fact that you people have done no tests no blood work no ***** samples no urine samples nothing just a couple of antibiotic shots for $970 they refuse to even give a discount on the pain medication. Please don't take your pet there I would never ever take my animal to these people this is the worst that that I have ever had contact with and I'm 74 years old and animal lover and have had pets all of my life. For your animal's sake do not take him or her to this vet.

Please do NOT take your pets to this groomer or to this vet. If you have a pet currently at either of these, find another groomer and vet IMMEDIATELY. We took our dog there to be groomed on a Friday, by Monday she was deathly ill with a respiratory sickness (and then it turned into pneumonia) and by Saturday she was gone. Our dog wasnt by any other dog and hadnt travelled anywhere prior to being groomed. We went to the emergency vet and there were no other issues going on after they did x-rays and labs so it 100% was from her getting sick at the groomer. There is clearly negligence going on there, either the cages arent being sanitized after the dogs leave or they are putting dogs together in cages. Either way its not ok. When we called to let them know, no one called back to give their condolences or try to warn other clients that a dog they had there was sick. In addition to groomer negligence, the vet themselves are horrible. The place looks dirty and they clearly dont really care about your animals. We called to try to bring our dog in to be seen, explaining what happened, and they couldnt fit her in. Even though its the groomer there where she contracted the virus. So we had to go to the emergency vet to be taken care of. So needless to say, avoid this business by all means.

Absolutely ridiculous! Daughter rescued a kitten, only option for free follow up was VCA. She made 3 appts and they cancelled them on her every time she walked in for those appts. Said they were understaffed. The kitten had an ear infection. They gave what they said were meds for his ear. Week and a half later ear isnt better, gets a call from ******* clinic that his meds were still there. VCA never informed her that the meds they gave her were for wax not the actual infection and she had to get meds elsewhere. We are now 10 days out and still on ear infection meds. He now has a polyp in his ear. Went to another vet, they said they believe its because the infection festered for too long and she gets a lot of cases from VCA that is pure negligence and it has turned into something more. So now looking at a hefty surgery bill simply because VCA changed the appt numerous times, and failed to communicate meds being elsewhere. Absolutely no written record of this either. Couldnt pay me enough to take an animal here.

My dog sitter had to take my French Bulldog to the nearest emergency room for breathing distress while I was out of town. This *************** VCA hospital was an absolute nightmare! They know that they have the owner over a barrel and feel free to extort as much money as they can because they know the owner is not going to tell them to let their pet die!Their invoice was full of duplicate charges and within an hour of arrival, they had a treatment plan that was estimated at $6400 for an overnight hospital stay. The grossly inflated charges included $80 for each and every blood pressure taken, $727 for a chest X-ray, interpretation, and sedation of an already sedated dog! Their charge for medications in addition to $200 for IV medications was $450 -- for 15 tablets of Trazodone sedative, and 9 tablets of Prednisone -- very common and inexpensive generic medications. There is absolutely no regulation against this kind of price gouging for anyone unfortunate enough to enter their doors. Their greed is unconscionable, and probably all too common for this industry.

********* Vet in ************* The manager put a credit on my account expecting Trupanion to pay them for a visit to the doctor but their office told Trupanion to send it to me Suddenly the credit turned into a debit and added to my Tinkerbell's account The manager and one desk clerk are calling me a thief and a liar but I do not owe this bill. I am a patient for 22 yrs and paid every bill from exam room to desk I am livid The manager threw me out of the office and ended my association with them and denied food for my cat with urinary problems. I am about to go legal I wish I knew the supervisor of this manager She is not a professional or a valid accounting manager Now going to another non VCA Vet *****************
