I was approv d for a mobility scooter through medicaid; as I am disabled. Home medix is the certified dealer. I had nothing but problems with it- I was stranded overnight in the parking lot if McDonald's, at the grocery, etc. ******; the owner took it, said it was repaired 3 separate occasions , But it kept breaking down . He finally just ordered a new one and I received it in August of last year. It worked fine at first, but now; less than a year later, it seems the battery is shot as I can't even go to the grocery and back without me having to charge it at the store while shopping . It is 3/4 mile round trip!!! I called ****** and he said," No . I'm not going to do anything more ." And he hung up! Mind you, he is a CERTIFIED DEALER.The battery is still under warranty. When I called the manufacturer, he gave me the mane of another certified dealer, but because I didn't purchase the scooter there, they charge me for picking up my scooter, diagnostics on it, and; finally, shipping on the battery. I am now looking at approximately ******* which should not cost me anything.I cannot just order a new battery, but if I could, they are ***** I am on a fixed income that is **** a month, so either of these options for this elderly woman is out of the question. I might also mention I don't drive and this scooter is my only way to get to the store, etc.
