****** from Shaws Appliance Repair in Hollister California came out to repair our stove on November 12th of 2020. We paid him for the part that he said needed to be replaced and the labor to do the work. A total of $282.29. We have not seen him since. He never answers his phone but some times responds through his internet web site claiming he has been sick and will get to it soon. It is almost 6 months since we paid him for the repair and cannot reach him now.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/05/30) */ ****************************************************************************************************************** In November *********** contacted us to schedule an appointment for his range, one of the burners was not working properly. I had just been released back to work after major surgery. I had been on bed rest for 6 months. This occurred in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. An order was placed for the part order and it unfortunately was on back order as were most parts coming from Whirlpool as their Plainfield warehouse was closed due to COVID-19. I explained to *********** at that time there was no ETA for the part to arrive. Over the next months *********** called and I did my best to keep him informed of this situation and it was not in my control. Unfortunately in January our family contracted COVID-19 and I had to close business for over a month as we were all affected by the mandatory Quarantine and the following time for testing. Again *********** called and I explained this all to him. In the following time I had gotten the vaccine and had a bad reaction and became very sick. Unfortunately this caused me to reschedule his appointment. I notified *********** and assured him that the repair would get done but he persisted. I then had another vaccine reaction and was home again. I decided to hire another service company to complete the repair and when they arrived unfortunately Whirlpool had placed the wrong part in the box. It has been very challenging dealing with parts during COVID-19. I explained to *********** the difficulties that we have had to endure throughout this last 18 months, from my surgery to COVID-19 and apologized for the inconvenience. The second part arrived and it was installed by the company I hired to do the repair. During this whole time I was very transparent with *********** and kept him notified when I had any new news to update him with but unfortunately he chose to file this complaint. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2021/06/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) All that ****** from Shaws Appliance Repair says in his response to my complaint is probably true. The problem is that the new burner that was installed did not repair the stove top. The stove top burner still does not work. The repair man (***** from ***** Appliance)said that he knew what was wrong and would get the correct part and fix the stove for me. This all took place several weeks ago and I have not heard back from *****. I have called twice with no response. ****** from Shaws did call me and asked me to withdraw my complaint. I responded to him telling him that the stove was still not repaired and that I have paid for a part that did not fix the problem. ****** ******** Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2021/07/20) */ I am sorry, the company (***** Appliance) I hired to do the work has closed permanently as the owner suffered a heart attack. I will be having surgery again on August 6th. I'm not sure what to do in this instance. Consumer Response /* (2000, 16, 2021/07/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I am very sorry for all of the health problems and issues that ****** has been dealing with. As I was not able to get someone to repair my stove, I was able to make the repair myself and now have the stove working well. I don't expect ****** to do anything more. I could never recommend Shaws service to anyone.
