On June 3, 2021 I had a mobile auto glass replacement by Presto Auto Glass. They quoted me a price over the phone of $269.00 and we set up an appointment for them to come out and replace my front windshield. On June 3 "****" arrived at my house and installed the windshield. He charged me $279.00 (not sure why $10 more) and handed me his card which had Power Windshields on it with a phone number of ************ and ************. He said to call him if there was any problem. The next day when I went out to my vehicle, the windshield was cracked on the bottom. I called **** back and he said he would get back to me but he never did. I called Presto Auto Glass and spoke with **** and he said that cracks can happen (stress crack) and that he would have it replaced on Monday, June 7. When I drove the vehicle air was whistling in around the edges. Over that weekend, **** called me and left a message saying that they could not do it Monday that it would wait until Tuesday. I called them on Monday morning and told them that I did not feel safe driving the car with air coming through the windshield. I was not sure if it was stable or not. I told them that I wanted it done today. They said that the batch of windshields for my car were defective and that was why. I found that very hard to believe since it is such a common car....Honda. At that point I told him I was going to have it done elsewhere and that I would hold the glass and he could pick it up and refund my money. I went to Five Star Auto Glass and had it replaced no problem the next day. They said that the windshield was not sealed properly and that probably led to the stress crack. Presto said they wanted the glass back when I asked them but never made arrangements to pick it up. I texted **** to pick it up but he said they didn't need it. I am confused about the 2 companies (Presto and Power Windshields). Somebody is responsible for my refund.
