The information described below outlines an incident involving ABT Plumbing. The information is being furnished to the Better Business Bureau and has also been sent to the **************** who ran an article on this business several weeks before the incident ), The *********** Council, The ********************************** and The *********** Chamber Of Commerce. Apparently the detail of the incident exceeds the word limit. This complaint then concerns the fraudulent misrepresentation to a homeowner of work to be done which was never done. The work concerned a simple shower handle that was sticking. The ABT Plumber who came to the owners home fraudulently informed the homeowner who is an older lady who lives alone and knows nothing about plumbing, a false representation of the work that needed to be done. The work did not need to be done to repair the shower handle. The ABT Plumber never did the work but instead merely applied silicone to the handle and left the owners home twenty minutes later with a check for $319.00..This fraud and actually out and out stealing has been reviewed and corroborated by an independent licensed plumber who also happens to work for Placer County. This is the way ABT is doing business. I have the hard copy documentation, two witnesses and the aforementioned corroborating expert licensed plumber. If ABT is bilking people who know nothing about plumbing or the extent and cost of repairs such as this person, it can only be imagined what they are doing to others. We have spoken to the customer and determined that this was a training issue with the technician who had just recently started working with us. The customers have been given a full refund. I'm not sure why this continues to be an issue.

**************** - Here is what both myself and my Plumbing Contractor Friens think of ABT's response:
P.T. ****** once pronounced," There's A Sucker Born Every Minute." An idea followed by various Charlatans and ********* Salesmen. eg. ABT PLumbing
Many crooks when reigned in will say they are "Sorry" to their victims. The only reason why they are "Sorry" is because they got caught. ABT thought they were dealing with an older single lady who lived alone and who obviously knew nothing about plumbing or the work to be done. However, the customer was being watched over by people with applicable backgrounds and ABT got "Caught." When I initially filed this complaint, I stated to the BBB that ABT would try and **** this incident off as an excuse due to a new employee or an employee in "Training." Why is an employee with that status out servicing customers by themselves with no oversight?
While ABT is diverting to a refund given with the left hand to keep the customer at bay, they take advantage of numerous more consumers with their right hand. This IS NOT a situation of a mere refund but a question of a company's deceptive and fraudulent business practices. On its face, the proof of their sneaky behavior is the fact that they would not return my phone calls as I iindicated I was the one who paid for the job, but instead waited until the next day to call the customer with their so-called Field Supervisor.

My dad, who is about the last person to know whether or not he was going to get ripped off by a plumbing service, called to have our grandmother's water heater replaced. Quote? $6000. This is after ABT tried to get my dad to pay $11K for the "high-end option".
As soon as I heard that I was annoyed, and told him to let me call around, even though he'd already given ABT a deposit via check. Found another option here on Yelp that was much better rated. Price for the same service? $2500. When I mentioned that was so much cheaper than the quote I'd gotten before, they said, "Yea, lemme guess, ABT." Apparently the other plumbing businesses in the area know the con-job in their midst.
The ABT guy originally told my dad he could fit him in "some time in the next few weeks" after taking the deposit check, even though my dad explained to him we had no hot water. When I called to cancel the service, he called my dad an hour later saying he could do it the very next morning. How convenient of him.
Gross.
Do yourself a favor, don't use these rip-off artists

I am very disappointed. I feel duped and plan on reaching out to the Better Business Bureau. I recently had a clogged toilet. I called ABT. They sent out ****. **** was very kind. He was professional. I paid $500 dollars to have the line unclogged and the camera ran in the line. The end result was very extensive, expensive work. I was needing a new sewer line. A quote of over 5k! They were quick to offer very low interest financing. Wanted me to agree to repairs on the spot. I decided it might be best to get a second opinion. I asked if I could get a detailed scope of the work and they said they can't do that. I asked if there is anyway I can get the video or see it, they said they can't do that either. Just a vague work order for over 5k worth of work. I called Comfort Plumbing. ******************* came out. Did the scope and said that they would need to water blast the line. There is about a 1/2 foot or less that has a small root in the area which is more than likely the point of the hang up. He is able to fix it and guarantee the work for $450.. It makes me sad for the ********************** that we have such a large company, that lacks integrity out here in our community with the large elderly community we have. Easy prey. ABT was perfectly comfortable ripping me off. After 2 other companies coming out to my house assuring me that a totally replacement of my sewer line is completely unnecessary I can confidently write a review telling you all to be aware of ABT and their lack of integrity. I will file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau to make sure this company holds itself to a higher morale standard with higher integrity for our community.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I won't let it happen a second time. Three times as expensive as required. Replaced a garbage disposal and took my soap dispenser with them when they installed an air valve. Tried to hype me with extra work like replacing pipes, etc.

Rip off! Charged me $580 for 35 minutes of work To repair a leak in a pvc pipe. Wish I had read these reviews before calling them.
Want to read some more? Because there are plenty more. Descriptions of ABT's Fraud and Deceptive business practices including egregious overcharging. If I was still at my former job with another agency, I would definitely petition to have their license suspended. My friend who is the Licensed Plumbing Contractor and works for Placer County would also like to see them out of busines. They leave a bad **** for all of those who are honest business people.
