I brought my vehicle in on 02/23/2024 at 8:40 due to the left passenger door not being able to open from both the inside and out and the speaker on the driver's side was blown out. My service advisor, *********************, had originally quoted me $380 for both fixes and I had chose to wait in the lobby as my vehicle was in service. After two and a half hours of waiting, I had to talk to several people within the building to see get an update of my vehicle and the progress that has been made, ******* had told me that they disassemble the door and that the latch was broken, due to them ripping the door open, it would not stay closed and the cost of fixing it would be $945. Almost a $600 increase! I changed my mind and went to see the status of the door myself and they had to duct tape it shut to prevent it from opening and told them that the number they had given me was out of my budget and wanted to see if it was possible to return my vehicle to it's original condition when I had brought it in, in which they said that they could try their best, but there was a possibility of it opening while the vehicle is in motion even though my original issue was that the door could NOT open. They refused to take accountability for breaking the latch of the door and told me that the $380 I had been originally quoted for was a diagnosis fee which I was not told prior to them taking my car for service. Now my vehicle is in the same condition, but with a possibility that the door may fly open in the near future and $380 short.Elk Grove Toyota-Scion Response

Hello *****,
I apologize for any miscommunication. I spoke with our Service Director about your concerns. The $380 is for the diagnosis of the door. When they did the diagnosis of the door not opening they found that the latch assembly was the issue. Once the diagnosis is done there are parts and labor for the actual repair and I apologize if that was not made clear. Once we notified you of the diagnosis and repairs, you declined the repairs. Again I apologize for any miscommunication. We hope you give us another chance to earn your business.
Sincerely,

I was about to buy a 2023 to ****** Corolla Cross SE. I had already got the money in a cashier's check it was about to go and they phoned me in the afternoon that a trade-in was required for me to purchase the car. They asked if I had a trade in and I told him I might have for the right price. Nowhere was it mentioned in our texts that I was required to have a trade in to purchase the car. With a trade-in I was put on a list to reserve the car. I was working with *************************** and she was very helpful answering all my questions. Her sales manager named ***** is the person who told her that a trade-in was required for me to buy the car. I spoke to her the same day and she reaffirmed that the trade-in was required. If they had told me in the first place that a trade-in was required for me to be on the wait list. I may have not wanted to get the car but they didn't emphasize that. I just want to let you know that this dealership may not be a dealership that's very honest.Elk Grove Toyota-Scion Response

Hello,
I truly apologize for any confusion. With the vehicle shortage we do prioritize customers with trade in vehicles. It does show we communicated this to you in previous messages. It is my understanding that you were talking about trading in one of your two vehicles for the Corolla Cross, however you decided not to trade in either vehicle. We are happy to continue trying to get you into the vehicle you desire. We do our best to get our customers into their vehicle of choice as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope you give us another chance to earn your business.
Sincerely,

I had taken my the Elk Grove ****** body shop; however, at the time of the pick up I noticed a big crack on the windshield that was not there prior to drop of my vehicle. Per the pictures taken by Elk Grove ******, there are no evidence of the damaged. It has been over a month that I am trying to resolve the issue; I found the manager of the shop *********************** extremely unprofessional/not fit for job/poor communicator who has given me the run around thus far. The assistant manager of the dealership has been aware of the issue but no resolutions yet.Since the crack had ran out across and down the windshield, I had replaced the windshield using my insurance. Although, I did have to pay a $250.00 which I am seeking reimbursement for.Elk Grove Toyota-Scion Response

The worse dealership to take your car in for maintenance and body work. I took my Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition for body work after my truck was a victim of vandalism. Elk Grove Toyota Certified Body Shop not only caused more damages to my rear bumper upon picking it up but they also don't cover the rest of your car/truck to paint; I had spend another $1000 to detail the inside and outside out of my own pocket. The deductible was $500; however, they raised that to $1000. Since, the mechanics/body work mechanics are highly unreliable; I would never take my truck to them even if my truck break down right next to their dealership/body shop!

We were looking at a ****** Hybrid Highlander to buy. Due to the demand, we put our name on a wait list about 2 months ago with the understanding that it would take some time for it to come in. We checked on this waitlist since the total time frame given was 3 months. The person in charge of this list asked if we had a trade-in; we do not because a squirrel nested in our old car and totaled it from the damage. This person said they prioritized those with trade-ins on this list. This policy wasn't in place when we put our name on this list. We asked if we would continually be placed on the bottom priority as new potential buyers could put their name on the list, and they said no, that we wouldn't be the bottom priority. We called back to talk to the original sales person we were dealing with to ask about this policy but got a different person. We confirmed with them that, instead of honoring the list, we would be moved to the bottom of the priority and others who came after us, if they had trade-ins, would be placed above us in priority as this policy was put in place two weeks prior. Poor customer service, communication and policy to waste our time thinking we could purchase this car from them all for them to basically extort customers and bolster own inventory. While this isn't illegal, it is selfish. I'm not surprised since car sales is an industry known for lack of integrity.Review from Hanna H

Elk Grove ****** advertises no dealer **** up, but unfortunately that does not make up for their complete lack of customer service. I was assured that after filling out a credit application a vehicle was being held for me and I would be notified when it arrived and would have 48 hours to claim it. I was contacted when the car arrived at the dealer, but then I was informed that the car was no longer being held for me due to the sales woman's mistake. She did however promise that the car would be held until the end of the day so I could make the two hour drive. While I was driving there she texted me "the car is sold"... no call to explain, just a text. After an unbelievably bad experience I do not recommend doing business here. If you are brave enough to shop here, be sure to ask for any sales person other than *******.Elk Grove Toyota-Scion Response

This is the worst place to go to buy a car. The way we were treated by the sales manager *** and the sales rep was just crazy. We were told that we are buying 2022 car after all the paperwork is done they said oh this car is 2021 and refused to hear us and told us to leave.
