My husband and I entered into a contract with JVM Landscape Construction to do a large residential home landscaping project. We spent several hours in several meetings discussing with JVM exactly what we wanted. They started the project on 11/22/21. They started off building the fence completely wrong, with no regard to what was discussed and in the contract in terms of height, elevation, look. They started off digging trenches with no regard to the finish grade, and then had to re-dig those. They built the walled planters to the incorrect height, slope, drainage - no regard to the contract or discussions. They had no plan of action, just start digging - incompetent. They did not call for *** Dig to mark lines. They punctured a gas line and had to have PG&E come resolve it. They asked for and accepted payment for materials never ordered, never delivered. They asked for and accepted payment for a change order never even started let alone finished. Not one item on the contract is completed, but substantially paid for. The president of the small, family-ran business would not answer several requests to meet and discuss the project and the materials - always pushed off - "Let me get back to you," "Let me try to get a date and time." Those dates, times, answers, never came. They flat out lied that tile was ordered and ready to be picked up. That was not true. There are so many materials to be ordered - they had all the money, wouldn't do it, wouldn't answer our requests, wouldn't contact us. We always had to contact them, usually to no avail. We finally had to file a complaint with the **** on 4/15/22, which resulted in JVM completely abandoning the project without legal excuse. They have not returned our money that they illegally obtained from us. Due to all of the above, we do not want them back. I want my money back, and I want them to not have an A+ rating with the BBB.Initial Complaint

We have paid for a landscaping service, work is not complete, final payment is due upon completion, however, we cannot reach the owner or employees by phone or email to coordinate work completion and final paymentBusiness response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.We have been calling the number we been given by the principal of the business and the number where we have reached the business previously.

Hello,
we received another correspondence From BBB and ****************** today, and promptly called ****************** back, however the voicemail was full. We also tried via text, and will be awaiting a response. One of our crew members experienced a family tragedy recently. Due to this, we have been short staffed, but we want to assure ****************** that we want to work with him to close out the project in a fair manner. There are some relatively small items we have to address to compete. We will try to contact again to creat a schedule to wrap up as soon as we possibly can. Thank you ****************** and BBB.

Just got a note this morning from BBB indicating the case is closed. Please understand this case is not closed. The vendor never called back to complete the arrangement. I still have their tools, material here at my homesite and no idea when work will be completed. I understand I missed your call, apologize for this as I probably did not recognize the number as I get many solicitation calls.
