On 6/7/21 I made an online room reservation at the Carriage House Inn in Downieville, CA for 6/17/21. I specified in my reservation that I needed a cot in the room (which is advertised to fit 3 guests with 1 queen bed). I had been searching for a room with 2 beds but this was the only room left in town for the 17th. On 6/11 I had to cancel and I notified Sonya, the Hotel Manager. My hope was she would be able to issue a refund and open the room for another guest to reserve (again- this was the ONLY room available in town for the 17th). She would not open the room up for another guest to book nor would she issue a refund due to their cancellation policy. Shannon left a voicemail on 6/17 concerning my cot request. She stated they do not have cots available nor would one fit in the room. Why was this important detail not addressed on 6/7 when I made the reservation, before my credit card was even charged, since the room was clearly inadequate for my needs. I feel a refund is warranted.
