On about May 8, 2022 my boyfriend, ****** *********, called his friend, *****, who is a mechanic that works for **** ******* ******** at Import Nation Motorsports to help with my car that broke down on the freeway. ****** asked ***** if he could pick it up from the freeway. ***** said he could. ****** went to the shop and paid $200 to ***** for towing it. At that time, we knew it was the transmission. ****** traveled to Modesto on 2 separate occasions to get a new transmission, spending approximately $200 in gas. We spent $500 for the transmission. There were some disagreements about the work and the transmission was never installed in my car. I called the shop to find out why it was taking so long to fix my car. He told me that the transmission that ****** brought was the wrong one. The owner told me that he would charge me $1,450 for parts and labor, to get the transmission and install it. I agreed. When I called again to see what the status was, he told me he could not find the right transmission. I asked him to reinstall the old transmission so that I could take the car somewhere else. He said he would but that he would charge me. After that I went to the shop to see what was going on with the car, ***** told me that the owner wanted the car out of the shop but he did not want to install the transmission. He wanted me to sign a car stating that I was taking the car “as is” without a transmission. ****** refused and told him he was going to call the police. At that time, the owner threw us out of his shop. He called Dinuba Police Dept and they told him he had to call the Sheriff. The Sheriff was called and came out and since we could not come to an agreement they told us that it was a civil matter and that we had to file Small Claims in Court. At this time, the car is still at the shop. We have not come to an agreement to get my car back. I simply want my car returned so that I can get it repaired.Business response

In regards to ****** and their camry . I brought their car on my trailer i only charged them 100 dollars i checked his car and it was a bad transmission he supplied the wrong transmission 2 weeks later from the day of may 8th 2022 at this point the transmission was already pulled total labor cost was only 500 for removal and installation but at this point we only had done half of the work pending correct transmission from Martin. A month later after speaking to ****** a few times saying he is still looking for it his wife calls angrily insulting my guys and i will not tolerate that. She was told to pick up her car we no longer wish to do work for them. The engine is hanging from a support bar only i asked them to sign a release of liability if that engine falls through during tow out of my shop they refused so i offered to re-install the transmission for 200 total cost to them thats including the removal and installation only 200 so i could have them out of my shop. Again the refused and instead call the fresno county sheriff, the officer said there was not much he could do since i was not denying them their car at that point i just wanted out but they refused to take it and instead drove off. We waited another week and heard nothing we called them and still refused to pick it up at this point i had no choice but to call the lein machine in clovis and proceed with the proper paperwork to have this car removed. At this point they have 30 days to reclaim their vehicle at the set price of 2200 dollars. Its been over 2 months they never picked up their car nor did they gave me a response. I gave them many opportunities to pick up their vehicle and resolve this issue in a civilized manner.Customer response
