On January 21st I went in for wisdom teeth extractions. They handed me documents with an estimated breakdown of what my insurance would cover and what I was responsible to pay. They estimated my responsibility to be $320.20. On the day of service, they instead charged my card for $360.20, $40 more than what was written on the estimated record. I hadn't paid attention because the figures were so close and I was in recovery for a week after. Within that week, my insurance statement came back, stating that my responsibility to pay was actually $278.60. I immediately got on the phone and called their office to get the issue rectified, they tried arguing that the overpayment was only $41, I told them it is actually $81.60... They told me a manager was not available and my call would be returned. I emailed them a copy of the insurance record as proof of the real overpayment amount. That return call never came, and we're heading into a month since my initial contact alerting them of the payment discrepancy. The company overcharged me $81.60 and did not rectify it when brought to their attention. Now my FSA account is threatening to lock my card for future use if the overpayment is not reconciled. I would like for them to return me the overpayment of $81.60 that was paid to them.
