On March 4, 2024, Power Pro Plumbing **** came to my house. The plumber told me that he had to charge me extra because he needed two additional workers. However, the one plumbing crawled underneath my house and blew air through my pipes to test for a gas leak, which he didn't need any other plumbers to assist with. The additional plumbers might have been needed to perform additional pipe replacement work, but they didn't do that on March 4th. Aside from the evaluation of one out of three plumbers, they didn't do anything! I was charged $1441.55 for an evaluation that other plumbers perform for free! What a rip-off. The company committed to fix my gas leak, but then stated that they couldn't do it that day and that they'd have to come back a couple days later. I had no gas! (i.e. no hot water, no dryer, no house heating, no stove, etc.) I would like a refund of my $1441.55 in full. I spoke with the business twice, but nobody in management has reached out to resolve it. I'm not sure what else to do but file a complaint.

The service we provided was needed due the the City Red tag and locked the meter.  We did perform the work and he agreed to have the repair done, however he canceled the job.  We still performed the gas test and that portion should still be paid, However we are willing to give a 25% discount.

      Thanks

I am rejecting this response because 25% off is not enough. I paid $1500.55 in total for an "emergency" Sunday visit, in which nothing was done, and a Monday visit in which only a gas test and under the house evaluation was performed, which my next plumber performed at no cost.

I expect at least 75% off. I was taken advantage of because I had no gas and was in a vulnerable state. Power Pro Plumbing took advantage of my desperate situation and grossly overcharged me.

      Sincerely,

My elderly parents had leaky toilets. The plumber from Power Pro arrived and proceeded to charge excessive amounts for unnecessary work. The leaky toilets turned into $2,575, with another $5,800 due for sewer line repair. I learned about this after the fact, and had another plumbing company out for a second opinion, and they verified their sewer line needs no repair, and that they were scammed out of thousands of dollars. They had my parents sign a bogus "contract" where they agreed to pay the full amount, and were given three days to cancel. They were worried sick and could not sleep. After multiple attempts to contact the company, they agreed to cancel the extra work.I feel sorry for other elderly folks who are getting cheated out of all their savings, and don't have someone to intervene. If this company did this once, then they have done it before and will do it again.I feel this is fraud, elder abuse, and predatory business practice at the least.I would like a written apology to my parents and a refund of the excessive and unneeded work.

We are in receipt of the complaint.  We are looking into the details of the allegations, and the company's General Manager will reach out to the Son of the Customer.  We did have the service manager call and they were unwilling to speak to him.

      Thank you

On 10/27/21 ***** came because there was a booming sound coming from the guest house living room. We also spoke about the hot water system, and he suggested that we put a recirculating pump in the attic where the tankless water heater sits. When other workmen came to install on 11/4/21 they knew we were here but did not communicate with us during their visit or that they were leaving. Instead of installing the pump in the attic, they removed the brand new one from under the kitchen sink and replaced it. This obviously did not meet the criteria for the estimate that I approved. On 11/17 ******* came back to the house and explained to us the following, which is taken from their notes on the invoice they sent us: "The reason why we install the recirculating pump underneath the kitchen sink is because the re-circulation pump that we installed was designed for the furnace fixture away from the water heater which is the tankless Noritz and the pump is designed from this company to be installed at the first fixture which is designed to pull water to all the fixtures So from the tankless water heater which is in the attic in the garage the kitchen is on the other side of the home and when the water gets pulled from the fixtures bathrooms and kitchen that recirculating pump kicks on to pull the water to the fixture that's getting fed hot water" This had not been approved or communicated to us. This also meant that we would need to install a brand new water heater to fix the problem. We asked PPP to work with us on the price (8k) due to them changing something that we didn't approve. My 90 year old mother lives there and its hard for her to bend down and open the cabinet, to reach the button which used to be on the kitchen counter next to the sink. They refused and we would like a full refund from the original job, our old circulation pump brought back, and for them to pay for the labor for our old one to be reinstalled. Communication is well documented with PPP via email.

On December 29, 2021, I was given an estimate of $236 to repair a leak at the base of a toilet, I authorized the repair, during the course of the repair it was discovered that the cut off valve was "stuck" I said to swap it out, it was then recommended to replace the very short supply line, i said ok. I never assumed that the additional material or labor was gratis. When I was shown the display on their hand computer the display was $496, I said, "496"!, Mr. ****** took the computer back and said, "296" handed me the computer back where I signed electronically the computer displayed $296, Mr. ****** stated I would receive an e-mail of all the computer displays. What I received was Invoice ********* (as an email) stating the contract price was $496.36. I had agreed to pay $296 which was $60.00 above the agreed price. The work was completed in a satisfactory manner: however. I'd advise against paperless contracting. What happened to the computer display with $296 and my electronic signature next to each other?

The business has contacted me and a solution was agreed on to resolve the issues; howerver, nothing has been implemented yet.As of this time I feel they are acting in good faith, the issues should be resolved only when what was agreed has been completed which may take several days 2 Feb 2022, 2:05 PM PST ** ******* Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/02/14) */ We have resolved the compliant and completed additional work that was approved by the customer. Consumer Response /* (4200, 15, 2022/02/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Power Pro did issue a creditor $200.00 and sent a Quality Control Inspector to inspect the initial work that was done, he agreed the toilet was loose. Two new technicians arrived and stated the Flange was broken, the initial technician stated the Flange was not broken and repair was possible without Flange replacement. They left with the toilet in a non-usable condition. The next day I received two estimates: 1) $547.50 and 2) $********. I agreed to the $547.50, which I paid After the Flange was replaced, the toilet was still loose and 4 plastic shims were installed to steady the toilet. In conclusion I paid a total of $844.86 to have a toilet repaired. To replace the Flange required repeating all the work i paid $236.36 for (which was under warranty). From my perspective I paid $236.36 twice. The work as it is now appears satisfactory.
