In early February, had Big O work on the air-conditioner in my car (a recharge and a test of the system). They returned the car to me saying everything was fine, and when I went to turn on the a/c the unit did not work. When I brought the car back to them, they insisted that it was my fault the a/c didn't work. They also purported to do an alignment on my car, although I doubt they did as the car's steering was exactly as it was before. Again, I brought this up with them, and again, they blamed me. They offered no recompense or refund. They offered to work on the car for a further charge, which I declined. I am out hundreds and hundreds of dollars because of their dishonesty and greed. I have contacted Big O corporate, and even though they said they would get back to me within 48 hours, it has been over a week and I have yet to hear from them. I did leave poor reviews for this business on Yelp and Google - and noticed there were many other customer reviews with similar complaints about this business. Thank you for your time.

I am rejecting this response because:

This is not a response from the business – this is merely a copy of the same receipts that I already have copies of, which prove nothing.

The attached photos on the "response" were taken on my second visit to big O, and not the first visit when they told me the work had been completed which it obviously had not - their own photos prove that point.

I have since had to pay another mechanic over $500 to get the work done that big O had already charged me for and lied about completing.

That new mechanic also informed me it was quite evident that no dye test had ever been done on the refrigerant discharge hose from the AC - and Big O told me that they had done that.

I have also had two independent mechanics look over the receipts and they said the labor charges were absolutely padded out to charge more than the time it would actually take to get the work done – that's if Big O had done it at all which they had not.

I have been offered no refund nor offer of complimentary work by Big O to set this right. They are merely blaming me for everything.

As pointed out before, this business has committed fraud upon numerous other customers as shown in the yelp and Google maps reviews online.

I have filed a complaint with both Big O corporate as well as the bureau of automotive repair of the state of California.

If I'm not refunded the money I spent for work that was not done, I have no choice but to take this to court which I'm prepared to do.

      Thank you for your time.

On October 29 2020 I went to Big O Tires in ********* **** CA and had my brakes done. October 29 2021 my brakes began to not stop as well as usual so I called BigO and asked if I could bring it in and that the warranty ends today. I brought the car in with my old receipt and they checked the brakes. ***** ***** is the service manager and he told me its not the front brakes its the back brakes and it will be $450. He said they checked the front brakes and they are "like new". ***** went out and came back and told me $250 instead of $450. I told him thats great, but I cant do it until tomorrow. i A different guy had me at the counter and said they already put the new back brakes on. I didnt have much money with me thats why I said I couldnt do it til the next day. I had come in with my warranty and was not expecting them to sell me something else instead of honoring the warranty. They said they already put them on the back. It was almost closing time and the other guy yelled out, fine you dont want it, take em off, put the old ones back on. ***** and I were arguing I told him I didnt say do it now. I ended up leaving him $100 and Id come back the following day and pay the balance. When I left my brakes were worse. It had nothing to do with the back brakes, its still the front brakes. I couldnt believe ***** said the front year old brakes were still like new. I called and told him they are worse, he said come back in, but when I did come back it was all *****s condescending attitude trying to make me believe I dont know what Im talking about. I wrote to the corporate office after the 3rd visit and still not having the issue resolved with my brakes. ***** called me to come in again . Nothing has been resolved, I now have no front brakes today. Wrote corp again no reply,

      Hi Bertha,

***** stated she needed front brakes.  *****  had just visited another shop where front brakes had been recommended.   *****  gave us  a call and asked if she could have her front brakes replaced under warranty , which  happened to be the last day before her warranty would end, she informed us.    ***** was scheduled an appointment for later that day.   After inspecting the front brakes we find the front brakes to be fine.   upon further inspection we find the rear brakes to be low and needing be be replaced.  We take ***** into the garage to show her what we found.  ***** agrees to have rear brakes replaced. (from what i was told by *****)    ***** does call up back stating her brakes are worse, asking to have them looked at.  My  mechanic test drove the vehicle and stated brakes feel normal.  I then ask ***** to take a drive with **** (mechanic)  and explain what feels off while she braking.    They return and ***** appears to be happy, Thanks us and goes on about her business.   a few days later I receive a complaint about the brake job.      Now i see here ***** is stating she has no front brakes.  that can not be possible when her brakes were just measured at a 9/32nds .  like new.   If ***** would like to have her brakes inspected at another shop and is told her front brakes in fact do  need to be replaced , i will gladly replace her front brakes at no cost.   i would love to get this taken care of for *****. I want every customer to feel and know that they are safe on the road after leaving my shop.   But one thing we will never do is replace or recommend any part that has not failed.

now just to go back and  touch on   the misunderstanding between ***** and *****, I tried to handle that as best as possible.   Issac told me ***** did  approve the brakes to be done at the time of visit, and that"s why our mechanic was given the go ahead.  ***** states she did not approve. but since service had already been completed,   I only asked that  *****  leave her ID or CC just to make sure she would return to pay bill.                      - ******* *     Manager

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me regarding going to another tire shop and getting a written estimate, which i really shouldnt have to waste even more of my time doing this after being at the Big O shop 4 times. I will get another estimate within 7 days or so, Im recovering from a procedure and it might take a few days before I am able to walk around again.
