I had a new roof replacement was completed on 9/19/2018 by My Home Renovations (MHR). During painting this summer, missing flashing was discovered on an eve, which I considered a workmanship problem. I called owner ************************* personally. ****************** said since the roof was signed off by the county of **********, so it was not their responsibility to fix the problem. I bought a GAF 50 year Silver Pledge warranty, so I then filed a warranty claim with GAF. It appears I ran into an issue whose responsibility it is to cover a warranty issue for missing flashing, a workmanship issue, which is covered in the contract. In the 4 years I had this roof, ****************** did come out the first year to fix missing flashing on the opposite side roof and a flat roof polymer issue as well in year 3. It has been frustrating as these issues occur, all caused by shoddy workmanship at installation. I want to know what MHR's warranty responsibility in the warranty I purchased. That is not stated in the warranty or MHR contract and subjective interpretation I get is inconsistent.Business response

To whom this may concern,
I did receive a call from the customer and I reinforced that her complaint of "missing flashing" is not consistent w/ our services and ultimately would not have been signed off by the building department if that were the case. As per her Yelp complaint on Yelp, "Choki D" decided to convey to the public how many times her inspections "failed" a few times as we make proper provisions to her flashing repairs per Building Code standards... Ultimately her project passed inspection which should imply the project met all of these requirements.
Choki D voiced concerns of flashing issues per her photo. However, when she drafted this complaint, we already sent out our team to reinforce the flashing that was loose and needed to be tighten down (see attached photo).
Her warranty was registered w/ GAF and we have records of its submission.

I appreciate all that review this complaint to do so w/ a grain of salt and recognize there exists ********" in this world and there is no solutions in this world that ultimately remedy their fears and concerns.

On March 4, 2021, St. John's Lutheran Church contracted with My House Renovation, Inc. to replace a roof on an adjacent property. This was a store front with a flat roof, and an apartment above that was pitched. The flat roof was to be replaced as it had inadequate drainage. The project included adding pitch to allow for drainage. The work was done quickly and within a week of completion we were told by the contractor that the City of Sacramento had given their final permit approval. Upon recent inspection, the flat roof does not have drainage pitch, has pooled water, and the drain pipes were not reattached. There are also nails protruding into the apartment from that part of the roof. We have attempted many times over the course of the last 3 weeks to contact the contractor with no success. I have spoken with the City of Sacramento permitting department, confirming that a permit was never pulled, nor was an inspection done.Business response

To whom this may concern,
This complaint was filed due to a lack of a communication conduit from the customer. Our land line 916-331-5800 was going through a phone porting transition from our previous services to that of Verizon. Without being able to connect with anyone, Linda reached out to BBB as the best vessel to voice concerns. A majority of the issues outlined are either inaccurate or derived from miscommunication of services performed on project. Being the owner of My House Renovation, I take pride in being able to walk property owners through there project from start to finish and make sure the train does not get derailed. Unfortunately, I never met Linda ******* and the project was "managed" by Micah Whitehead.
I've attached the permit that we pulled on the property and finalized through the building department. I believe the representative at the building department was going through any active residential permit and failed to see the active commercial permit pulled on the property. I've attached this document to this email.
We are meeting today, July 7th, 2021 @ 3pm to go over any concerns Linda might still have over the repairs we made to her legitimate concerns expressed when we met last week.
