Exchange week 6 -13 March 2022 I rented / paid for a week in a 1 bed room condominium with a king size bed and got put into a 1 bed room condominium with a queen size bed that did not have box springs (room 144). I was not informed of the down graded room at checkin. I was also not informed at checkin (or prior to checkin) that the elevator was out. Even after requesting assistant to carry my items upstairs from the parking garage, none was provided. Elevator was not working for 4 days. The sign on the elevator said ‘temporarily’ out of order . . . for 4 days! I have contacted the business and have received no adequate resolution.Business response

My response to the complaint is listed below.
An emergency repair to the walkway, which included areas around the elevator, caused last minute closure of several rooms and the elevator. As a result and due to the nature of fixed unit ownership of the property the room the guest was assigned was the only option. We apologize for the inconvenience and not giving prior notice. We are working with the guest to issue credit for a full week and look forward to welcoming them back.

The business has not contacted me about issuing a credit for a full week. I took the initiative and looked at my account on the GPX website (management company for Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort) and they have issued an exchange credit valid only through Sept 5, 2022. I then looked at available California resorts in that time frame and found only a few but I would need to leave in 2 days to 2 weeks to take advantage. That is clearly not acceptable. The initial exchange credit was available for 2 years, which would be more appropriate. I reject their offer as an exchange credit that can not be used is like not having a credit at all.
