MALPRACTICE SUITS, INSURANCE FRAUD, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, and more....Michael Obeng has charges pending with the State's Atty and CA Medical Board. Read the 17 page report yourself on the CA Medical Board website. You must access the site from a computer as opposed to a phone in order to see the documents. He charges $500 for consultations when other surgeon's consult for free. His surgical fees are 2 to 4 times that of other surgeon's. Perhaps because his practice is in financial peril. He was sued by his office's property management company and his accounting firm just a few months ago for unpaid rent and accounting fees. He has several malpractice suits against him, past and present. Read all of the 1 star reviews here and on Yelp of how he mutilated patient after patient. When I confronted him about the aforementioned charges and patient complaints he lied and stated I was mistaken. I demanded the return of my consultation fee because he did not provide a true consultation by giving me the risks and benefits of the procedures I was interested in. I'm an RN. I know what a proper consultation consists of. He also lied about not having any negative outcomes and being "in good standing" with the Medical Board. There are so many 5 star docs out there, why would you trust your life in the hands of someone who is so desperate for money and incompetent? If you give this man a deposit, he may not even have a license by your surgery date.
