July of 2023, I brought my 2018 ******** **** GLC350e to ************** repair for an engine knocking noise and loss of power. I have had brought my vehicle there previously to replace the engine coils. They told me the issue was a bad engine coil and it was replaced. Less than a week after I got my vehicle back, my engine started losing power and knocking, which was the same symptoms which I brought it in for in the first place. After more than a few weeks they told me that I more than likely have a bad head gasket. After testing, they determined there was a hole in the cylinder head. Before the testing, they gave me a price of $3400 and then after raised the price to $4912.66. I do not understand why they didn't tell me the cylinder head was the issue in the first place, instead placing the blame for the bad performing engine on a head gasket. A whole two months pass from the time I first brought in vehicle. I made several complaints to the owner ******* throughout the entire ordeal. On September 09, 2023, I finally received my vehicle back. The check engine light came on immediately after I got it and it was still losing power once in a while, but I was trepidatious about returning the vehicle back to ************** repair. On Saturday September 23rd of 2023 the vehicle broke down near *****, **********. The vehicle had the same symptoms of engine knocking and losing power. I talked to the owner ******* and he said he would take care of it if he was responsible. After towing the vehicle back to *****, I had diagnostic done by the dealership. They determined the engine had a bad Rod **** A) and a bad compressor. I have made the owner of ************** Repair aware of this. The mechanics and owner were dishonest about what work was actually done on my vehicle because after all this time and money, the same symptoms are occurring in the vehicle in which I first brought it in to the shop for. Cost for the diagnostic at the dealership = $265.67. Tow = $716.66
