I wish I had read the reviews here before partnering with them to do my taxes. If there's anyone doing their proper due diligence do NOT work with this company. They charge you an exorbitant amount of money for services and then they don't deliver on said services. I scheduled to have my taxes filed through them in February. After I submitted their required documents in the beginning of March, I did not hear back from them. A whole month goes by and the deadline is approaching and I reach out to check-in. Not only are they NOT in the process of doing my taxes, the *** hasn't even opened up the docs! There was no warning, no courtesy call, no reminders/updates that they were overbooked and unable to meet the tax deadline. It was only once I called that they even told me I need to file for an extension. So I decided to cancel the service and move on.When asking for your money back, they only refunded half of it claiming "filing" fees and inexplicable charges. How in the world does it cost over $300 to "file" a PDF that hasn't been opened or looked at is beyond me. They also charged for filing an extension.....the IRS extension is a free service.....But, that's their business strategy.Thankfully, I was able to find a good reputable accountant on short notice. For only $600 which is about $150 cheaper than Traders Accounting I was able get a team (2 accountants) dedicated to doing my taxes before the deadline. They finished it in a day and I got back waayy more money than I thought I would. Please please please....SAVE your money.

*******, When you signed on with us we made you aware that we would not be able to get your return completed for months. We also let you know that we would be filing an ext and you signed off on this on your Letter of Engagement. We also sent a Tax Deadlines email which set the expectations for both parties. When you called asking for a refund we explained that it would be minus the work that was completed. I spent another 15 minutes with you go over the charges that would be assessed. At that time, you stated that you understood and we ended amicably. I thought we had a pleasant interaction, I'm sorry you now don't agree and felt it necessary to write this review because you didn't get the amount you requested. You original paid $745. We charged you for the following:$50 for the extension $54 for the 15 min he spent on the phone getting tax advice from the *** $100 set up fee that is non refundable $100 for our Tax Coordinators time processing the information that you sent us to start your return While I respect your perspective, I would also ask that you understand, as a company, I also have to pay employees for their time spent on client files. Our work and time is not free. We wish you the best and glad you found someone that could accommodate your needs.

That first statement is factually untrue. When I signed with Traders Accounting in February, I was never told that my return would take months, nor that I would have to file an extension. I was only told about the delays and extension AFTER I checked in with the company in April. It was in April, over the phone, that I was notified that I would need to file an extension. I understand that every business has their own payment structure. The breakdown of fees is not stated in the contract/letter of engagement when you sign up for this service. The breakdown of fees was never given to me verbally until AFTER I requested a refund. My issues with this company are their hidden non-refundable fees (especially given the fact they were unable to file my taxes) and their lack of communication.

Their motto is You Trade, well do the rest. But the fact is that they will do the rest incorrectly. If you hire a housekeeper, do you want them to forget to clean the baseboards and under the table?Their initial draft had me receiving a 10k refund. Final submission by a different Firm has me receiving 14k. Although the extra 4k is nice; most importantly I know my Taxes have been submitted accurately.

While we respect your opinion, we disagree. You are on your third CPA in the last three years. You originally came to us 2 weeks prior to the tax deadline with the exact same complaint about your 2nd to last CPA. While you may disagree with the numbers, that does not mean that they are incorrect. I'm sorry that we weren't a good fit. However, the things that you were requesting of us, made us feel extremely uncomfortable and highly concerned about carrying on a relationship with you. We also felt that things being asked of us were highly unethical. We like to think that we are a fair company and can be reasonable, which is why, even though your return was completed and we had spent well over three hours with you, we refunded you in full and also refused all future services to you.

The response above from the business is factually incorrect just like their work was. It was correct that I was on my 3rd *** in the last 2 years when I decided to engage with Traders Accounting. It was also correct that I was on my 3rd *** in the last 6 years. In addition, the documents were submitted to the Firm on Sep 14, 2022 and engagement agreement on Sep 20, 2022. Not 2 weeks before the Oct 17th deadline. Yes, the Tax preparation by Traders Accounting was performed incorrectly this is factual and undisputable. Real reviews of them detail similar experiences. See details below.Summary Their motto is You Trade, well do the rest. But the fact is that they will do the rest incorrectly to your disadvantage. If you hire a housekeeper, do you want them to forget to clean the baseboards and under the table? Their initial draft had me receiving $9,807. The final submission by a different Firm has me receiving $13,732. Although the extra $3,925 is nice; I know my Taxes have been submitted accurately and the Firm that filed them stands behind it 100%.Background I had a *** that I love that prepared my Taxes for 4 years. The only reason I decided to search for someone else was because my Taxes were becoming more complicated with Trading. I still highly recommend my old *** to friends/family.Review I am a Professional (Physician, Trader and Entrepreneur). I had been trialing a new *** in ********** and had concerns about what he had prepared so I reached out to Traders Accounting to review his work ($200). They agreed that his preparation was riddled with significant errors so I asked them to prepare it instead and they agreed they would ($745). The owner/manager is named *****. I am unsure of her qualifications, but I do not think she is a ***. I asked if I could do an Introduction with the *** (*************************) that would be preparing my Taxes and she said that that would cost extra and recklessly stated that it would not influence the documents prepared. They began to send me various upselling offers to sign up for products or attend various conferences. I attended one of the Virtual Conferences; it was full of sales pitches to buy their products to help your Trading. In fact, the *** from TradersAccounting was supposed to speak at the Conference about Trading and Taxes: How does it affect you? but days before they apparently cancelled on the Firm due to unknown issues. After I received the first draft of the Firms preparation of my Taxes, I emailed a detailed summary of questions. I was told that it would cost $215/hr to have the questions addressed. My goal is the have my Taxes prepared accurately and so I was not concerned about the additional upsell fees. I scheduled to speak with the *** but they stated that it could not be done virtually, which is very odd in this day and age it might take 10 mins to discuss something virtually or facetime but would take longer via phone. Nevertheless, I had no choice as the deadline was fast approaching. The *** called me and ironically, he had not seen my detailed written questions that I sent to the Firm via email (***** and her assistant never sent it to him) so I had to spend at least triple the time to spell the questions out to him again over the telephone. He seemed nice and knowledgeable, he acknowledged some of the errors quickly. And as far as I know, he only told me one significant incorrect interpretation of Tax Law. Also, knowing more of my personal circumstances did in fact change deductions he included in draft2, contrary to what ***** had previously stated.****** assistant then sent me the second draft. I reviewed it and emailed back 2 questions. One of those questions did pertain to a mistake my old *** had done in not accurately carrying over losses from previous years. But even after having the mistake pointed out, this Firm refused to help fix it to ensure that the current preparation was submitted accurately. It appears that some of my questions were being answered by non-***s (i.e. ***** and her assistant) but it was difficult for me to know because I was only able to correspond with the middle personal (i.e. ***** and her assistant). Lol, ***** acts like the pimp of the ***. Per the advice of my old ***, I asked the Firm to reference the *** code to support incorrect information they were telling me, but they would/could not. About 4 days before the deadline, ***** forwarded me a response from the *** which continued to stand behind an incorrect interpretation of Tax Law. ***** attempted to pressure me to either sign off on the incorrect preparation or miss the deadline. At this point I knew that I would not be working with this Firm again in the future - so I responded to her with an ultimatum: either a) provide a full refund within 24 hours or b) agree that your Firm would be responsible for all expenses necessary to fix the errors in the future.Like a teenager, ***** immaturely attacked me as being the problem by incorrectly characterizing that I had been through 3 ***s in 2 years when in fact, Traders Accounting did exactly what they bashed the Redwood *** for doing. But luckily, she quickly provided me a full refund so I could be done with her and her Firm. Since ***** provided me the refund, instead of filing a complaint with the ******* *********** of ************ I am only writing this review to educate and warn potential clients to save them similar experiences. It is my hope that the Firm will either drastically change its practices or just shut it down.Positives of Traders Accounting: -Response time to communications with ***** and her assistant is fairly quick.-Initial Tax Preparation Fee is competitive Negatives of Traders Accounting: -Firm stands by incorrect interpretations of Tax Law -Owner attacks you if you question errors and submit evidence in a professional manner to try to educate them to do their job accurately.-Appears to be targeting unknowledgeable Traders -Upsell you all along the way, almost weekly or more -Spam you with Random stuff

We apologize if you ever felt attacked, that certainly was not the intention. We simply chose not to work with you. Again, you were requesting us to do things we didn't see fit. However, I would like to clear up a few items that you have pointed out. First, I was very clear in explaining my qualifications to you. I explained that I was not a ***, nor have I ever claimed to be one. I do however, have ***s that work on behalf of TA. Second, you asked us to write Paypal a letter on your behalf to try and help you get a refund from your *** because you were not pleased with the work he performed either. Third, we don't send emails from our company trying to upsell trading services. We do however, work with various affiliates in the industry that offer services that we think may be of interest to our client(s). In fact, many of our clients do take advantage of the offers we send out. On these emails we send, it is also important to note that there is an, "unsubscribe button" as well. This complaint you are listing was not brought to my attention while you were a client, only now on this review. Forth, I personally did not send you any draft. ***y were sent from our Tax Coordinator, *******. You were corresponding with her and CC me on the emails. *** purpose of the Tax Coordinator is to work as a liaison between you and the *** so the *** was in fact, addressing your answers, just not direct to you. This was also stated in the emails to you. You also had several calls with the ***, all of which you were not charged for. Finally, referring to me as "the pimp" of my company, I find highly offensive, rude and uncouth. That is NOT how you act professionally, sir. *** name calling and this type of behavior that you continue on with, is why you were released as a client. I maintained professionalism and ***** all while dealing with a very difficult client. I stand behind our company, its ethics, its policies, employees and our work.
