    Weeks in advance of our 2/1/24 scheduled fireplace appointment, Eric and Sons was provided the make, model and serial number of our Superior fireplace. The surprising $175 bill charged that *** said the part for this fireplace to work again was a pilot, but that part was discontinued by Superior. We questioned the office manager ******* and she said she would credit the $175 to the purchase of a new fireplace. Not believing the fireplace was obsolete or a part was not available, we called another fireplace company. The new company sent out a REPAIRMAN that fixed the pilot with a brand new universal part. We called ******* again and told her a universal part fixed the problem. Her comment was that Eric and Sons DO NOT USE UNIVERSAL PARTS. If they couldnt get all the parts on the unit why did they come out to the fireplace appointment in the first place? Good news about a company travels fast, but bad news about a company travels faster in a small town.

    We have expressed our regrets to ********************** regarding the availability of parts for his Superior fireplace. Unfortunately, when fireplaces are over 20 years old the support for replacement parts can be hit or miss. Eric & Sons commitment to using factory-authorized parts ensures the highest quality and safety standards for our customers and ensures that we can provide future warranties for the products that we install. After diagnosis, ************** recommended that the pilot assembly be replaced, after contacting the manufacturer they informed us that the pilot assembly was no longer available. We understand the frustration of having an old appliance that is no longer supported by the manufacturer. We want all of our customers to have a positive experience when working with us. We are happy that ********************** was able to get his fireplace operational, and have refunded his diagnostic charge.
