My father was transferred to Peoria Post Acute & Rehabilitation back in October of 2022 for failure to thrive while battling cancer. While my father was in this facility mostly bed ridden and under the care of staff his dentures went missing. His dentures which were placed in a pink container with his name and my phone number on them were on his table and he noticed when lunch was delivered his dentures were gone. He told facility staff who said he would check and that was all that was said to him. Hours later I came to visit is when they finally started looking for his dentures. They put my dad on liquid foods, and I reminded him that he was there to start eating more and had just started an appetite stimulant medication and he needed to be able to eat as much real food as possible. They assured me they would handle the matter, however, they said they had to wait the weekend until head managers could address the issue, and I was assured they would handle it. When the beginning of the week came, they were still dragging their feet and had no answers to get him new dentures, they just kept saying how sorry they were. I knew time was critical for my father's health and was able to get him seen by a dentist in the area. As soon as my father was released from Post Peoria the following Wednesday, I took him to be fitted for his new teeth. I was told to keep the one liaison updated so they could help in the matter. My father and I had to stay in a hotel as we live 90 miles from the dentist. They rushed his dentures and got him new ones the following day. I forwarded the bill I paid for the dentures but was eventually told Post Peoria couldn't prove that they did anything wrong and stopped answering my messages. I feel this facility failed to care for my father in so many ways, lost his dentures and did nothing to help get him eating again or cover the cost to replace the dentures they threw out. The cost of replacing his dentures was $4510
