Do not hire this **mpany. They came in and tore out sheetrock that should not have been taken out, ripped up carpet that should not have been taken out, took out baseboards that should not have been taken out. Bottom line there was overkill on the entire project. All they were **ncerned about was how much money they **uld extract from the insurance **mpany. They **llected over $11,000 including a hefty ** pay from us. They never came back to fix the place up. My wife and I had to **ntact **ntractors to replace drywall, carpeting, bathroom tile, and painting just to mention a few items. I would never re**mmend this **mpany to do any work.Review from Patricia F

AVOID DRY STAR RESTORATION AT ALL COSTS End of March 2023 Dry Star Restoration promised to repair flooring, walls, and countertop after we experienced a flood due to a burst pipe in bathroom. Damage included flooring throughout and lower kitchen cabinets. We were told to leave everything where it was in our *************** winter home. Well take care of everything. Take everything down and put it all back when we are done. 3 months later they were still trying to get more money from the insurance company. When they finally started the work the floor was left with a gap between rooms, a gap in front of tub, unfinished baseboard: uncaulked, unpainted dirty mess. The painters didnt remove window treatments, items on the walls, or cover the new floor. Paint was dripped, smeared and slopped everywhere. They destroyed 20 feet of custom drapes, valances, shower curtain/liner, a piece of art. They left a film on new floor, apparently wiped up paint spills? The trim job at base of cabinets was amateur-obviously inexperienced workers. A rounded edged post formed countertop was estimated at $3,000 for a ********************************************************************************* front corner. ROC complaint filed. They (ROC) seem to have very little power to issue directives regarding damages. ROC did require repairs of flooring. We finished all of the baseboards-cleaned, caulked and painted them. We replaced some of the amateur trim with low profile improvements. They refused to reimburse for custom drapes calling them store bought . They hire Bonvue Custom Drapes to low ball the value of items destroyed. Their license requires subcontractors for plumbing, A/C and electrical. They put our kitchen sink in without sealing it down. We had no cold water in one bathroom, no hot water in the other bathroom. The hot and cold water were backwards in bathroom sink. We had to call a plumber to repair. There is nothing better than being free of this company.Review from Justin C

I have used Dry Star multiple times when experiencing flood damage in my home. Their mitigation team has always shown up within an hour of me calling. They are efficient in their work and have always started the process as soon as possible. All the employees have been empathetic to our situation and assure us that everything will be taken care of, especially *****************************. Ive called him every time something has come up, and hes been available every time without fail. This has been extremely helpful during the stressful moments of going through multiple remediations over the years. Their demolition team has always been careful and make sure that the work area is always clean as possible before leaving. This last run I worked with ****** during the transition from mitigation to repairs/construction. He was quick to send out a project manager so we could get the reconstruction process done as quickly as possible and was on top of getting things taken care of with our insurance adjuster. Their reconstruction team has always done great work and has gone above and beyond to make sure that the finishing touches were on point. I recommend Dry Star for all your restoration and construction needs. Call and ask for ******, theyll take care of you.Review from Chris C

Dry Star ****** on their website -"Drystar Restoration, LLC is committed to excellence in every aspect of our business. We uphold a standard of integrity bound by fairness, honesty, and personal responsibility. Our distinction is the quality of service we bring to our customers. Accurate knowledge of our trade combined with ability is what makes us true professionals. Above all, we are watchful of our customers interests and make their concerns the basis of our business."Reality- Dry Star repaired my home and in the process, they put a drywall s**** through my hot water supply line. The issue didn't surface for 2 years to to the day from I received my invoice. Dry Star outright refuses to own their simple mistake and participate in the repair of my home. They categorically do not care for their clients, they are not bound by honesty or personal responsibility and above all are absolutely NOT watchful of their customers interests or concerns which are not the basis of their business. They are outright liars on their very own website. I gave them 2 chances to right their mistake and they told me they met as a company and claim no responsibility.Dry Star Restoration LLC Response

My restoration experience was not a good one. Dry Star came out to handle water damage to my bathroom. They left a hole in the floor and left the sewer line open for two weeks. The was a strong smell and the fumes make us sick. I had to call a plumber to plug the line. This was an insurance claim and they could not get the information needed to the insurance company. Only when I sent it did the information get received after 3 weeks. They never let me know what they wanted up front until 5 weeks had gone by. They took 2 and a half months to fix the flooring and baseboards in the bathroom. They blamed the insurance company for the delay. However, it was mostly their fault. They literally allowed us to get sick from the open sewer line. They didn't speed up the process for us and wouldn't start until I gave them money. They gave me a credit for one hour of the plumber's time, that was all. They gave me no other compensation for making us sick and dragging out the process for over 2 months. The general manager was not interested in having caused us harm. When I told him he didn't care he said ,"I care, I've been talking to you for 12 minutes. I would say they don't care about their customers. They were the worst company I've ever seen for following through. I had to contact them constantly. 2 and a half months without the master bathroom is ridiculous.Dry Star Restoration LLC Response

Hello Mr ****** I do apologize for the time that this project had taken, and for any missteps that had taken place. Please note that the typical pre-pandemic time frame for a standard water loss is 6-8 weeks, and unfortunately post pandemic time frames due to various factors such as availability of material, workers, and how long it takes the insurance company to respond. As you stated, the insurance is claiming they never received they documents, however we have documented proof that we had started sending the documents in April all the way through until you called with an approval of your own. It is standard to wait for the approval, however customers do have the option of agreeing to accept the charges as out of pocket, as long as they understand they would be agreeing to pay for anything the insurance chose not to approve out of their own pocket. I apologize nobody had mentioned that availability, but this does not negate the delay being the result of the insurance company not doing their own job. The common procedure for an insurance company to pursue, is if they are having trouble receiving the scope of work to review, they can send their own employee to view and write the estimate. You have admitted multiple times that you had trouble having them follow up with you as well. The claim of no compensation is false on its surface. Please note, the plumbing **** that you submitted would normally not be something that would be covered. We compensated you for the plumbing **** as a goodwill gesture. When you spoke with my team, you attempted to claim we had too much business, and that you would leave a review to make sure we didnt have too much business anymore or we can consider what kind of credit would be worth. The proposal you came up with originally was off your remaining balance and/or free duct cleaning work. Because you were already compensated, we still are forced to decline your compensation request.Customer Response

Two weeks of sewer gas into our house was not a small matter even though Dry Star seemed to think it was. Every person I told this story to said they should at least compensate you. When I mentioned what it was most were surprised that was all since the plumber was called out again because they didn't do the work properly. However, if there are people that think this review is in error they can contact ******* Plumbing and ask them what they think of the job Dry Star did and on how long it took, 2 and a half months to complete.Review from Pat L

Stay away from DryStar *********************************************** and their law firm, ***** ******** both businesses in ****, *******! After my plumber fixed the pipe leak in my wall, DryStar sent two workers who spent approximately two hours at my house setting up and then finally removing four industrial electric dryers which ran 24/7 for five days. Of course, these dryers used my electricity. My insurance company negotiated charges for this dry-out work with DryStar and sent them a check for $2,062.01 which they accepted. Then ***** Law started contacting me about signing a document that would allow them to represent me against my insurance company so that they could get paid more. DryStar is claiming that their two hours of work and dryer usage is worth $6,632.62 in total. I refused to sign ***** Laws Request for Representation document because my insurance company said that they would continue to handle my claim. Even though they were told to contact my insurance company directly regarding my claim, ***** Law continues to harass me via telephone calls, text messages, emails, and letters. Now ***** Law has threatened to *** me for the remaining $4,570.61 that DryStar claims they are owed. Thankfully, if DryStar/***** Law does file suit for breach of contract, my insurance company informed me that they will hire an attorney, at their cost, for my defense.Dry Star Restoration LLC Response

Thank You for the review. It doesn't appear in reading this review that you have any issues with the quality of work performed, but rather the cost. To be completely transparent every insurance company has us use the same program that gives us the cost. We just have to punch in time and equipment. After this they then like to pay a fraction of that cost, and we do not accept that amount as it is insulting. Our lawyer was asking you to sign a document keeping you completely out of it so you would no longer have to deal with it. I am sorry you do not agree with us getting paid what the insurance sets as the standard rate, but if you have zero issue with the work performed I am unsure why you are writing a bad review. Thank You
