    I bought the Boss CS-3 . I always liked the boss compressor but it was noisy and just not there with clarity. This was my first Modest Mikes mod, the transaction was fast and easy. The compressor is nothing short of amazing now,. It has not left my board, sometimes it’s on, sometimes off, sometimes its on and I don’t even realize it, it’s that good. Quiet , clear and easy to dial in. You could spend a lot more but why, get what works , this Mikes modded CS-3 is so good you could always leave it on and that says it all.

    I wanted to mod my Mad Professor Bluebird Overdrive to access the internal controls. I emailed there modders to see if it could be done. The first said it was impossible, and the second said he'd need to take apart the entire circuit board. Mike said he'd need to take a look at it in person, so I sent him mine. Got it back a few days later, the work was top notch and exactly what I asked for. Great communication along the way and very quick replies to my emails. Highly recommended.

    Mike: Hello there. Just writing to let you know that I've received the MXR Phase 90 pedal with the "vibe mod" this week. Wow man, it blew me away !!!     I have a 1987 vintage Rat 2 which had become noisy. Mike previously sold me a mod'd GE-7 EQ pedal that was incredibly quiet, so I asked him whether he could repair my Rat 2. I listened to the sound samples of his Phat Rat mod and was very impressed and decided to include the mod along with the repair. My main concern was that since my pedal was vintage and in great cosmetic shape, I didn't want the sound selector switch to be placed on the top face of the pedal. Mike and I e-mailed back and we settled on placing the switch on the side with the input / output / power supply jacks. The mod includes the installation of an OP07 op amp, which is quieter than the LM308. I was initially concerned about losing the desirable vintage LM308, but Mike agreed to send me back my old LM308 along with a newer LM308 so that I could experiment. He even provided me cautionary instruction on how to orient the chips correctly so as not to damage the pedal. (Knowing the location of Pin 1 is crucial.) The Phat Rat arrived yesterday and I immediately plugged it into my amp and 2 of my guitars. It’s amazing in two ways: 1) It’s incredibly quiet now! 2) The tones I get from both Phat Mod selector switch positions are fantastic. I especially love the Phat gain circuit in the “up” position. The pedal sounds fantastic whether used with single coil and humbucker pickups. I couldn’t be happier with how the Rat Phat Mod turned out! Mike is definitely my go-to guy for any pedal mods or repairs! Tom VC

    March, 2023 Mike is the very best when it comes to pedals. Had a Vox V847 wah totally modded. He fixed it even when it was not working! I was lucky to find him, very few experts on pedals. Look no further and don't try to do it yourself. He guarantees his work! Thanks Mike! WILL
