I had got an maintenance man out here twice to fix the socket in my bathroom, and the man say he couldn't fix it. I wrote them a letter telling them about the problem, and it's been over two weeks and I have not heard from them. I want someone out here to fix this socket in the bathroom. The green light only comes on when the light is on, and when it's off there is no green light. It needs to be fixed so I can use the socket in the bathroom.Business response

The work order in reference has been reopened. It was originally marked as completed and there was no communication that the issue had returned. A tech will be in touch with the tenant asap to get it resolved.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The tech is here now on the phone with someone trying to fix it. Hopefully he fixes it.

I am rejecting this response because:
I have put in a complaint about the socket in the bathroom need to be fixed, and they still haven't come to fix it. When they were supposed to fix it, they said it needed to be two or three people to help one maintenance guy. Still haven't fixed it. Now, I have problems with the hot water tank that is gas and have a gas leak that is endangering my life. That can blow anytime. I have called the fire truck and spire out here. This passed on Saturday at about 3:30 because I smelled gas. Someone was supposed to come out Monday on Labor Day to fix it, and nobody ever came. I have placed an order and wrote them a letter. I have left messages with the company and my case worker with housing authority to let them know what is going on. It need to be fixed, or I'm moving out, and I want all my money back that I have given them. They have the hot water tank boxed in when it should be a door, so if anything happens, people can get into it. The socket doesn't work with light off, which is crazy.

We are writing this as a response to the letter received about a work order complaint. All work orders have been dealt with and there is no health or safety issue in the home. The outlet in the bathroom is wired to the light switch and it turns off and on when the light is off. When you are not in the bathroom and the light is not on, there is little need for an outlet to work. However, the vendor is still working up an estimate to rewire the plug since this appears to be an inconvenience to the tenant, estimate is forthcoming.
It would be much more productive to have all work order issues dealt with in the office as opposed to the tenant filing a complaint with the BBB each time they need to submit a work order. This is counter productive. Any future issues can be dealt with through our front office or our email **************************************************************.

I am rejecting this response because: I have reached out several times about the outlet in the bathroom, and no one has come to fix it. He said he was going to come back out with two more other guys, and no one has came. It is a safe hazard, and it needs to be fixed.

The entire apartment complex has no water utilities connected and it has been this way for over twenty four hours. Apple st apartments has a private water supply that is not operated by the Birmingham Water works utilities company. On Friday July 7, 2023 the main water supply breaker was turned off, shutting off the water supply to all apartment units. I have been informed by Birmingham Water works company that my apartment unit is not listed as a valid location therefore, I can not get water services from the city. I told an agent at Barrington Friday but nothing has changed, we still all have no water. The water utilities are paid to the property management company.Business response

We just took over management of this property. We sent out a request to ********** Water Works to have the water transferred into our name at this complex. However, the previous management company must have submitted a request to have the water disconnected, rather than allow it to transfer directly to our companies name. The moment that we discovered that it had been disconnected instead of transferred, we had the water company go right back out and reconnect the service. I applied for housing with the reality...I provided all the information necessary and she still move to the next application..I feel they only collect application fees and rent to who they want to...after doing all credit and background checks and all was good the only excuse she could provide was she didn't get my Section 8 voucher bedrooms size...attached is a email I sent her with the bedroom size on it..I was the first to apply for the house and feel like they discrimination against me..instead of her calling me saying she needed the information she just rented it out to someone else...I feel it wasn't fair housing and I want my application fee backBusiness response

She was approved to rent from us, however the home she was trying to obtain was a 3 bedroom home with a rent amount of $790.00. This tenant has a section 8 voucher for a 1 bedroom which would not pay the amount that we were requesting for rent. This tenant was told that since she was a qualified renter she could still look for a one bedroom or a two bedroom home with our company but she did not qualify to rent a 3 bedroom home based on her income and voucher size. We have been in contact with Ms. ***** and informed her that if she finds another home that she would like to rent from us that is within the criteria of her voucher size we will be happy to submit her voucher for that property, as long as no other applications are pending. However, to avoid any other issues or concerns, we will refund this tenant's application fee and she can now use those funds to try and rent from another company if she so chooses. This information is false ...I have emails to prove otherwise..I gave her the one bedroom voucher because they gave me the one bedroom voucher at first them they gave me a 3 bedroom voucher and I inform ******* and sent her a copy of the 3 bedroom. I sent her the one bedroom voucher because it stated the voucher amount in which thats what she was asking, because she was asking for a amount for the voucher which she wasn't suppose to ask me according the Secrion 8 ...I have emails showing here I sent her the information..I asked for my money back after she she told me no...I also have texts where I asked about other properties after she told me she would find me another property since my application had already been approved and once I saw another property she again stating someone else had applied for it but my application had already been approved...I do not want to rent from them at this point but iy the principle and you all need to know they are scamming people out of application fees, there taking multiple application fees for one home. I have a 3 bedroom voucher and I have prove I sent it to her..I have all the email and texts to prove what she's saying is false
