      No communication. I have tried too many times and left too many voice messages to (SportsMed in **********), ************** (****). The phone has never been answered by a person and I have not received any call backs after leaving my information. I have made six attempts over the past two weeks. All I want is an appointment to have my $320 pair of inserts, which were purchased at Sportsmed, adjusted as per my podiatrist prescription. Im in a tremendous amount of pain daily and I need the adjustments to my inserts. I went as far as driving to the Sportsmed ********** location to try and make the appointment. I was told at the reception desk that it has to be done over the phone. I tried to make an appointment online. I was called back immediately and then abruptly transferred to this same non-responsive number. Abruptly meaning, I tried to stop the lady before being switched over to explain that this number is non-responsive but she obviously didnt want to listen and switched me over there anyway without me having the chance to explain. Im at a complete loss on what to do. It should not be this hard to make an appointment.

      On 10/27/2021 I had an appointment with Dr. Ocampo at the Madison, AL office. A co-pay was required and collected at the time of service. When I received my BC/BS statement, BC/BS told me that my co-pay should only have been $20. No refund was received from SportsMed by January, so I requested a refund via mail. My request was totally ignored. On 2/10 I called to request the refund and was told that "*********" would call me with information. She did not. On 2/14 I called again. At first I was told that the refund was issued on 1/13. Then I was told there was a "problem with the bank" preventing refunds from being mailed. Finally, "*********" called me around 10:45 on 2/14. She informed me that SportsMed is NOT RESPONSIBLE for refunds once they are requested from the bank and that "other people" had received their refunds. (I have not.) Then she informed me that if I wanted my refund, I would have to pay a $30 stop check order fee and then request the refund again. I am not responsible for what SportsMed's bank does or does not do, nor am I responsible for the Post Office. SportsMed and SportsMed alone is responsible for seeing to it that I receive my refund in a timely manner.

      Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/16) */ The overpayment will be refunded. The January refund request by mail, as stated in the complaint, was in fact completed in January. The original refund check for this consumer was submitted and processed through the bank on January 17th, 2022 and was mailed via USPS. SportsMED received confirmation from the bank that the refund check was processed and mailed. After further investigation into the matter it was discovered the mailing address for the original refund was missing one number. A stop payment on the original check was done at no cost to the consumer. The consumer has been issued a new refund check. SportsMED billing manager contacted him personally on 2-16-22. SportsMED offered to refund the check via mail, or pick up at office. The check will be mailed per his preference, and will go out in the afternoon mail on 2-16-22 for a full refund. Thank you. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/21) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) The refund is satisfactory.
