Final Finish ********** painted our cabinets in June 2022. Although the majority of the painted areas looked good, there was a problem with a few areas splitting and things not being properly finished like nail holes that were promised to be filled before being painted never getting filled. ***** came back July 2022 and wanted to wait through fall to see if any other splits occurred. After two no show, no call missed appointments and many voicemails and texts, ***** did come early 2023 and sprayed a different shade of white over some of the spots now leaving us with multi-colored places on our cabinets. He also took a support piece for a cabinet part that he offered to spray with him and said he'd bring back by. After more calls and texts, he did return and said he didn't have the piece and must have thrown it away. He also offered to set it up with a cabinet maker that if we would pay for the doors that he would paint them. I texted him on May 24, 2023 with how many doors we were wanting to do but he said he was out of town and would be back in two weeks. I texted and called him in June and he said the cabinet maker was booked until August but that he would get us booked with him them. I have called and texted multiple times since then with no response.

I took the bottom portion of my marble top vanity to Final Finish, Inc. on January 21, 2022, to be repaired, by closing the gap between the storage section and the marble top, filling a hole in the drawer and attaching the latch to the door on the bottom portion of the vanity. I was quoted a repair cost of $85, to be completed within a month. I emailed *************************, Final Finish, on February 17, 2022 requesting an update. He responded stating his employees had *****. I emailed ****************** on April 15, 2022 for an update, and never received a response. On August 19, 2022, I emailed ****************** telling him I was coming to get the vanity. I didn't hear from him. I went to the business on August 24, 2022 to get the vanity, but no one was there. I called the business, at ************ and left a message. I haven't heard from him or anyone from the business.

Keith, with Final Finish came out to paint our cabinets in 5/2020. Initially, we were happy with the result. However, then the paint began to flake and chip off in various areas of the cabinets upper and lower. On 7/18/21 we contacted Keith to come out and look at the cabinets and see what he could do to repair as it had only been a little over a year. From July - Sept he said he was too sick to come out and look as he had Covid. He finally arranged a time after several repeated attempts at reaching him. He came out on 9/27/21 and stated that the flaking and peeling of the paint was due to wear and tear, and that the steam from us cooking on the stove caused the peeling. He then said it was water damage, which we have had none of. Normal wear and tear should not cause flaking and peeling after a year He said it was not his fault and he would not respray the cabinets . He offered to touch up the spots, but would not sand, prime or do any of the other steps necessary to fully repair

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/08) */ In response to the complaint from Mrs **** ; I have inspected the areas of complaint and determined that it is due to water damage in front of the sink, heat damage over the cooktop, and general wear. Mrs **** herself has confirmed at Huntsville Decorating that I used the best paint I could buy. This damage is not due to inferior workmanship or inferior paint. My offer to touch up these areas was declined by Mr **** and I was told not to come back to their property. I am not refunding any money because I upheld my end of this bargain. It's simply out of goodwill that I offered to do a touch up. I can't be responsible for the way people treat their cabinets after I leave the job. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/10/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Again , when we contacted the owner it was 13 months outside of the job. Paint on the cabinets should not be chipping, flaking or peeling after 13 months. We have not had water damage in our kitchen and many areas of the cabinets that are chipping are not even handled. We cannot be expected not to cook on our stove with fear our cabinet paint will chip off. What we requested of the owner is that he not come back to the our home to fix unless he planned to properly fix the areas ie. sand, prime and then repaint. The owners solution is to cover up the flaking and peeling of the paint with just spray painting or covering up with paint. This will not solve the problem as it will happen again. The areas must be properly re-sanded and primed to correct from happening again. We are asking for a complete repair of the areas that are flaking off /peeling. We are also asking for touch up paint for when the job is complete like we should have received and requested to receive from the beginning. I do not believe the areas were primed correctly or else we would not have this problem a year out. In addition the owner was unprofessional in dealing with us , blamed us for " tearing up our kitchen" and stated that it would be like us being responsible for his wrecked vehicle. He is more than welcome back to the property to do the above repairs, but this includes the full repair and not just painting over the areas . This has been a 3 month process that we would like taken care of. Business Response /* (31001, 13, 2021/10/20) */ I would like to pursue next steps in this matter. Can you assist with arbitration ? Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/10/20) */ Hi Peggy I'm a little confused at to why our case has been closed. The business has not contacted us to do repairs and they did not respond to our rebuttal. Since this is new to us can you explain? It doesn't seem to be any repercussions for business not being held res We really need our cabinets repaired. Thank you BBB Wed 10/20/2021 1:41 PM Ms. ****, Possibly, does your contract have an Arbitration Agreement in it? I need you to send me a copy of the contract. Thank you, BBB Wed 10/20/2021 2:04 PM No we don't even have a contract ???
