      What an oversell and underpromise situation. We ordered a whole living room of furniture in January 2022 hoping to have it when we moved into our new home in June 2022. I was told repeatedly that it would be in the first week of July. Ok— I can be flexible. It wasn’t until I inquired 3 weeks out from that time frame that I was told the largest piece of my furniture would not be in until the end of August. When I asked about my options to have it expedited or to cancel. I was told there was nothing they could do to expedite the process and that I could not cancel the order. I asked if my furniture was already in production and I was told yes (but it still would not be ready until the end of august…) I spoke with the manager and asked what I was supposed to do for an entire summer without a living room? No gatherings. No movie nights. I was left with a apologies and no solutions. Did they provide pieces from their showroom to use in the interim? No. Manager stated they would follow up with me in two weeks after they checked in with the factory. He did not call. I had to follow twice and he still had the sales associate reach out to me to tell me that not only was the time for one of the pieces still end of August but now another piece wouldn’t be in until end of September/October. What an absolute joke of a business. It’s a con. Take a deposit. Make it impossible to cancel even with a fee. There’s no option to expedite. No customer service provided when items are back ordered. I will never buy from them again. I will never send anyone to them for furniture. It’s overpriced and, at this point, not worth the value of the furniture or the service.

      18 months ago we bought a group of furniture that includes a full size couch. The couch is experiencing a popping noise in the back of the center section which sounds like a loose of broken spring. We called La-Z-Boy last week to get it fixed. We were told that they would come look at (not fix) it for $194. Then, when they get the part, we would be charged $95 per hour to repair it with no estimate of how many hours would be required.

      My order ********* on 3/19/2021 with a deposit of $5000.00. It was promised by their sales rep to be delivered in August and no later than September 2021. About a month later upon checking on line it listed December 20, 2021. I spoke with my sales rep about other options but none could be accommodated. Now I have received an update that that my order will be completed on December 27, 2021. I tried to speak to or email The Customer Service Manager, Carolyn W******* but no phone number or email is listed. The 800 number only list options with AI. It seems like they are in financial trouble and my $5000.00 will be lost.

The order that was placed on March 19,2021 is currently due to ship from the production facility the last week in December. I can assure you that the furniture is being made specifically for you and will arrive to be delivered to your home as soon as the production has finished. Each item that was selected for purchase at the time of sale are custom made choices specially chosen by you in coordination with our design program. The custom order time frame at the time of your sale was specifically, but not limited to a six-to-eight-month production time frame. Our associates strive to relay the most accurate information we have at the time of your purchase, and I apologize if that your order producing a date of a month later than expected. The representative you have been working with has reached out multiple times to you to discuss the delay and keep you updated to the best of her ability. I will be in contact with you in the coming days to discuss your experience and attempt to regain your confidence in our company. The deposit that was made at the time of purchase is the initial payment that was agreed upon to create your special-order purchase. The documentation that was signed at the time of sale states that special orders require an initial payment of at least 25%, that is not subject to cancellation, refund or exchange. It also states that fabric, leather, and wood delays are source dependent and can cause delays which are outside of LA-Z-BOY control. The furniture you selected is being produced just for you, and I can assure you that our company that has been in good standing for over 45 years will be delivering on our promise to you of your custom selected furniture in the near future. Please accept our sincerest apology for any trouble or inconvenience we have caused you. We highly appreciate your business and feedback.       Tipperary Sales Statement: The order that was placed on March 19,2021 is currently due to ship from the production facility the last week in December. RESPONSE: Are you assuring us the furniture will ship from the production facility the last week of December 2021 and will be shipped directly to our home.? The items purchased were not custom pieces but included options (power recliner switch and head rest). According to your Sales Rep, it is and probably would be in stock at the warehouse or another store. The options were not custom and the Sales Rep did discover the items were not in stock so, an order was created with the two standard couches and two standard options. TIPPERARY SALES STATEMENT: The custom order time frame at the time of your sale was specifically, but not limited to a six-to-eight-month production time frame. Our associates strive to relay the most accurate information we have at the time of your purchase, and I apologize if that your order producing a date of a month later than expected. The representative you have been working with has reached out multiple times to you to discuss the delay and keep you updated to the best of her ability Response: Once again it is not a custom order but your stock chairs with standard options. The Sales Rep’s most accurate information, at the time we placed the order, was August 2021 and no later than September 2021. I trusted your Sales Rep and still do; I believe incorrect information was given to the Sales Rep. We only signed the agreement based on the Sales Rep’s word of August 2021 or September 2021. I informed the Sales Rep of a recent article in the **** ****** ******* quoting a La-Z-Boy executive, that LA-Z-BOY would not be able to deliver orders until December 2021. The Sales Rep said to us that “it was just covering all bases and the August 2021 or September 2021 was accurate. So, we signed. The representative and I have spoken especially when I tracked the order and found out that August was not going to happen and the ship date was December 20, 2021 and now changed to December 30, 2021. The Sales Rep is doing the best she can but has no idea about production or what stage of the production of our order. The Sales Rep does not have access to that information. Tipperary Sales Statement: The furniture you selected is being produced just for you, and I can assure you that our company that has been in good standing for over 45 years will be delivering on our promise to you of your custom selected furniture in the near future. Response: The furniture we selected is not custom and can easily be sold to any other customer, it is standard in every way. Yes, you have been in good standing for over 45 years but these are unprecedented times, so all of us must really keep our fingers on the pulse and know what is happening in every part of our business. What does near future mean? I assume December 30, 2021, correct? We need to know what the productions status is of our furniture. For example, it is a log book at the manufacturer, is it on the production line, is it waiting for a container to ship it, is being shipped by common carrier or Ocean freight to a port, where is it being shipped from etc. We need to know that our deposit is working for us and have the correct information. I think someone from Tipperary Sales needs to contact LA-Z-BOY headquarters get the production manager to get you the answers,so you can keep your finger on the pulse of your business. If you can’t give me the information and I will do it for you. ****** *******
