      Meritain forces me to make COBRA payments by the snail mail which usually takes an entire month for the payment to be processed, I started sending payments certified mail a month ahead of the due date, which seemed to work better as far as proof my payment was received. I have to call each month to make sure they get my payment, because even once received it takes an additional few weeks for Meritain to process the payment. In January they changed my payment mailing location so I mailed ( certified) my February payment to the new location printed on my coupon booklet. I mailed it on January 4th and it was sent back to me on Jan 25th stating no such address. You cannot actually speak to anyone in the COBRA Department of Meritain so you speak to a customer service person that also cannot talk with the COBRA Department and can only send an internal message. The customer service representative said the new address is for overnight payments and does not know why it changed or why it was sent back, At this point I cannot even send my payment as the customer service representative does not know what address to mail it to. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DESERVE ANY STARS!!!

      Aetna meritain is the worst insurance. Nothing is covered. Difficulty with getting medications/ office visits that are medically necessary.

      inept...very poor phone etiquette and difficult to get a clear and concise response. Providers consistently complain about this insurance.

      Should be negative 10 stars. THIS IS NOT REAL INSURANCE BY THE WAY! They billed me over my out of pocket max so I filed an appeal, which they only allow you to send snail mail. Then they claimed they never got it. They take so long with pre-determinations you could DIE waiting to get certain treatments. Also, they're not a real insurance company. They just help cheap employers to give their employees the illusion that they have health insurance. They manage your cheap awful bosses info so THEY get to decide if they want to cover something or not, even though the employer passes ALL the healthcare expenses on to the employees. Meritain is a garbage middle man, screwing over your health for the rich old white guys at the top of the capitalism chain. Good luck being able to understand their reps on the phone. They hang up and claim poor connection because they have no intention of helping anyone resolve their claims. They don't pay for anything!

      Terrible insurance. High premiums and they won't pay for anything. Every claim takes multiple tries and half the time they don't pay. Nothing but frustration and more work for their clients. Read some reviews on here. "We're sorry, jump through more hoops and we might pay something, but most likely not". Copy and pasted response to another customer.       Terrible customer service- requested information on local in network providers and they sent me a list from a different state across the country. Also they do not support mothers, medically necessary and standard ultrasounds are not covered causing massive out of pocket charges for required prenatal care. In addition to ultrasounds, many tests required for determining viability of a pregnancy are not covered.

      I wouldn't give them even one star if I didn't have to. They're paid to lie, withhold vital information AND payment. They held me hostage for at least six months, not paying for "specialty" life-sustaining meds! Now they're not paying for anything that was their response while they were primary. In a word, they're crooks! I don't recommended them or ANY ***** product! ***** let three of my friends die due to only approving the worst facilities!

      I would give zero stars if that was an option. Absolute worst experience ever with a Health insurance company getting any kind of answers. They string you along and give you no feedback. Awful.

      I was diagnosed with psorisis 9 years ago. I used to have ****** Healthcare and finally they.put me on *******. It worked great . Then the company I work for was bought out and my insurance changed to Meritain Health. Now I have been trying gor over a year to get a medication to help my psorisis and they won't approve anything that helps! I keep hoing round and round in circles between the pharmacy,the doctors office and the insurance over and over again. Whsts the point of paying so much for insurance if you can't get the meds you need!!!! I'm so frustrated!
