This complaint is years in the making. I originally posted all of the information on ******, but after my most recent experience, I want to make sure their inability to have basic customer satisfaction is well noted. Buyer beware - Capital Heat does not care about you. I had several companies give me an estimate, but Capital Heat had the best sales pitch and really made me feel like they had my best interests at hand. Fast forward to things being installed, their technicians used electrical tape to hold the condensation line to the back of one of my units. We went on vacation and returned to a lot of water in my basement, from the second floor. They came and fixed that but offered no apology or any form of compensation for the trouble they caused me. They’ve drilled holes to my basement and left them open at the end of the day, won’t acknowledge that they caused me to have mice in my ceiling, they upsold me the **** Cloud which is a subpar piece of technology for wifi enablement. Their technicians even say they don’t like the product and don’t know why they sell it. All of this was in my original ****** post, and then some, including pictures of some of the horrific drain line work they did in my basement. Fast forward to 6/6/2024. I called Capital Heat because I had more water in my basement. After tracing it to my kitchen unit, I took apart some of the duct work to find MORE electrical tape had come apart leaving the condensation leaking everywhere. To their credit, they came out quickly to offer condolences and promises to order new parts. I’m writing this post on 9/10 because they have not come to fix anything. I’ve called on 9/5 and 9/6 for a follow up and no body has returned my call. This company is a joke and once they have your money, you’re no longer a priority. They have come to clean the mini splits twice, and the first year had water dripping all over computers. Their apology was doubling the price for this service a year later.

I had one of their technicians come to my home and replace an inducer. He told me the part was $992.94. He gave a senior citizen discount of 10%. I believed their technician mistakenly overcharged me for the part. I looked up the retail cost of the same part and it was a third of the price I was quoted. I know it was the weekend and the young lady I spoke to told me the difference would be a $40 to $50 service charge. It was 17 degrees outside so I was willing to pay the additional service charge. I tried to resolve the problem for over a week. They did not respond to my emails. The billing department said the Inducer cost included installation. I told her the bill did not indicate any separate labor cost, only the cost of the part. The exact part they installed had a retail cost $319.92 at *** ***** ************. You can imagine how little they paid for it. Clearly their installation charge was @$700 dollars for a 10 minute job. It took their technician more time to write the invoice than installing the inducer. The job"s total cost $1071.16 . I believe this was a clear example of Price gouging. It is not a reasonable cost to charge a customer around $700 dollars for installation, which was not itemized as an installation charge, for 10 minutes of work. I am always willing to pay any reasonable price for service but this is an example of taking advantage of a bad situation.
