If I could give a negative star I most very would without hesitation. Worst experience even worse company. I was charged a no show fee for canceling a reservation after being told the truck was not available at that location. I called customer service only to be told Im being charged because I canceled the reservation same day and that they could only reverse half of the charge. Just use U-Haul, ten times better, no hidden bs.Review from Wanda R

Rented 12ft truck on 2/3/24, returning on 2/4/24. I was late returning the truck. This location is closed on Sunday. So no problem, I knew I would be charged EITHER a late fee or for an extra day. I call Budget Monday evening because I hadn't received my receipt, we will email it to you should have it shortly,no problem. 24 hours later, I'm charged a late fee, drop fee( how else are you going to return if you don't drop it off), an a extra day, and a location fee.So when I explained to the lady you can't double charge me either it's a late fee or an extra day!!! I asked to please explain how can you charge someone a drop fee when you have to drop the truck off??? You didn't have to locate anything because the truck was returned before the location opened it was at the front door!! After I asked to speak with a manager she placed herself on "mute" no music but before I asked for supervisor when she actually placed me on hold there was music. I work in a call center setting so I'm VERY familiar with the sounds and lack there of. She comes back and says she's going to refund the charges. This was 2/8/24 and I still have not received my refund. I don't care what type of business it only takes 5-7 Business days for a refund to post back to the original form of payment. I have called multiple times and they say wait until this day then this day. I had to fill a dispute with my credit card company. This is unprofessional, and unacceptable. I have never had a problem with Budget truck rental. I hate Uhaul and it seems Budget is going into that category with how they treat their customers.Budget Truck Rental Response

Absolutely terrible customer service. They are clearly not concerned with you or if you rent from them, even if you fly in to town to pick up the rental truck previously arranged. To get a manager to contact you back for assistance, they require a two hour return call window. The store was closing in an hour and a half so they were unable to follow through with our rental or have a manager contact us.Budget Truck Rental Response

Rented a 26ft box truck for business i was cont contact anyone at the location so i didnt fly out .Budget charged me **** i went back and rented another 26ft and the truck broke down had to wait 3 and a half weeks for a replacement my business lost thousands of dollars now i have another truck thats broken down budget will not compansat me im done with then ill file a claim in court this is sadBudget Truck Rental Response

When I went to rent the Vehicle Brianna lied to me and told me that Insurance was a must since you can't drive on TX roads without liability. When I go to return the vehicle on the receipt the insurance is under OPTIONAL SERVICES and $231. I just don't understand why she would even lie as if the money went into her pocket. This is totally unexceptional at all it benefited her in no way at all to lie about that. Even the first time when I called customer service he said that she was telling the truth. Now this second time the rep was able to put in a request for a refund. Thank God at least 1 person out of the 3 knows how to do their job.Budget Truck Rental Response

They are terrible. We needed a truck for moving our daughter to VA and she booked one to pickup in Kannapolis. We go to get the truck and they say they no longer have trucks there because people were stealing converters off the trucks there. They tell us to call the 800 number to find another truck. The 800 number tell us to go get our truck at an auto repair place that has budget trucks in Concord. I call them on the way to verify and the place tells me they don’t have trucks available. We finally find a truck ourselves at a budget in Charlotte and get that one. In case you are wondering we didn’t want to go with UHaul because you pay miles plus the rental. On the way to VA we stopped for gas and unable to put gas in the truck, kept shutting off. Stopped at another station later and it was fine. We completed the move and when i stopped at 2 gas stations on the way to dropping the truck off neither worked. When we got to the auto repair shop to drop the truck there was no one there at 11am on a Friday. I wrote a note on the contract about the gas and dropped it with the keys in the dropbox. Five days later I get a call from Budget loss prevention saying they can prosecute me if I don’t return the truck. I’m livid at this point. My wife and the loss lady call the shop we dropped off and they don’t answer. The woman said they would get it handled and show the truck returned. Several days later I get a certified letter about returning the truck dated the day after we spoke to the woman and I get $165 charge on my card for the $65 worth of gas i couldn’t put in the truck. They finally show the truck returned, but they were only willing to credit $35 on the gas. I filed a dispute with my card which i just lost the dispute. Do not rent a truck or waste your money on their insurance. We had an incident were we had to get a tow truck to assist us and we tried calling Budget to assist us before paying out of pocket. First when I reached out and they replied, they emailed me w the wrong name and hadn't even looked at my reservation before replying. Ultimately, they decided that it’s not their fault so they didn’t help us pay for a tow truck even though we paid about $500 insurance. I rented a Renault car on November 19th, 2023. at the Budget Office Istambul Downtown. Harbiye Mh, Cumhuriyet Cd. No:*** ***** Sisli/Istanbul, Türkiye. Rental two cero two three one one one eight nine nine four License Plate ********. I got into a snow accident and roadside assistance was called by the police. Budget kept charging me for days I did not utilize plus 5 extra days I did not have the car. Also never refunded the original hold. Hundreds of dollars were taken from my account. I have called 4 times to customer service and they say they will call me back and they never do. I emailed customer service 7 times and I never got the issue resolved. I sent a certified letter and Budget did not resolve my case. I even wrote to Budget in social media (Intagram, Messenger and Twitter) and no response. I am beyond disappointed with the company's silence and lack of follow-up and follow-through. I do not recommend this rental company. Avoid headaches and rent with someone else. Deceptive business practices. More than once I have reserved a vehicle online, received confirmation, and at pick up, found out that they do not have the truck that I reserved. Their staff at the West Palm Beach Florida location are absolutely incompetent, unhelpful and do not know their way around their own system. They receive a 2 star rating because the only good service I received was from a Budget Truck Rental in Sacramento California.
