This happened on Saturday, July 3, 2023. I had a leaking pecs pipe in my attic, but I thought it was my AC since it was dripping down in the inside closet where the heat unit is. I called Cool Willy's, and someone came out within an hour. He found the problem.........it was NOT the AC, but the leaking pipe. I was told that they now do plumbing as well as AC, so not to worry. I called the plumber that had re piped my home 4.5 years ago, installing the pipes in the attic, but I never heard back. I was told by Cool Willy's rep who was here that I could wait till Monday, but the temp fix would probably not last till Monday when I might be able to call someone else. He told me I would have to pay over $800 but since he was already there, he could do it. I said yes, and he spent not even 1.5 hours working on my problem and went to Home Depot for a 24 inch piece of piping and 2 couplings. He was in the attic and down again in less than 45 minutes. I know I have to pay for his services, but now that I'm asking them for a detailed invoice showing what was purchased, what was replaced, etc (So I could possibly get some reimbursement from the original plumber). They told me I have an invoice, although it just says $845 less 10% discount, and they do not provide such information that I'm asking for. WTH? I am NOT pleased. I am not stopping payment or anything like that, but they must have pulled the estimate out of thin air, because nothing backs the cost up. People beware!! They get you in an emergency situation and pad everything under one basically blank invoice.
