    My elderly mom contacted Shamy when her 12 year old furnace abruptly stopped pushing out hot air during a cold snap. They came out quickly, which I applaud. However, they told her they could fix it for 3k with no warranty on parts or she could get a brand new furnace for 6k. Of course she went with the new furnace option due to the extreme cold in the forecast. After contemplating this for a few hours, I told her to get a second opinion, so she did and she canceled the new furnace and requested her down payment back, which she received timely. Another company came out and was able to repair the furnace and the total bill was right around $400. I think its fair to conclude Shamy tried to take advantage of an elderly female during an ****** blast. Shame on Shamy!

It's important to provide you with a detailed account of the events that transpired during our assessment and subsequent communication.************** conducted a thorough evaluation of your mother's furnace and discovered a significant issue with the evaporator coil. The coil was severely impacted with pet hair and cigarette smoke, indicating a lack of regular filter maintenance. Due to the unique horizontal configuration of the furnace, gaining access to the coil required not only disassembling the furnace but also removing it entirely. This involved additional complexity and labor.To ensure transparency, ************** performed a video inspection of both the evaporator coil and secondary heat exchanger. This inspection was witnessed by both your mother and brother, providing a visual understanding of the severity of the issue. The technician then explained the necessary steps for the proposed repair, emphasizing the importance of addressing the extensive buildup on the coil.Upon discussing these findings with your mother, she opted to explore the option of replacing the furnace instead of proceeding with the extensive cleaning and repair work. We provided a quote for the furnace replacement, and the decision was made to move forward with the installation.Two days later, we received your cancellation request, and we promptly halted our installation crew as per your instructions. Subsequently, we received an email from you stating that the furnace had been repaired by another company for $400. However, the invoice you provided lacked a detailed description of the work performed, leaving us with doubts about the completeness and correctness of the repair.It's important to note that our temporary repair allowed your mother to have heat temporarily while she considered her options. We also want to emphasize that, until your recent communication, we did not receive any inquiry or request for clarification from you regarding the issues encountered during our service call.We understand the importance of clear communication and customer satisfaction.
