Unprofessional, ************ abuses customers property. Are rude when it's addressed. Total invasion of personal compartments. All Item thrown into a trash bag. Which had ACTUAL value. Unfortunately because of a banking error my vehicle and personal possessions have been damaged. I wish the BBB would sincerely investigate this ill companies operations. Total lack of experience and customer **********************. Our items should not have damaged to a misunderstanding. Theyre excessively barbaric, and they get off on having the slighted bit of power. I understand it may have been a mistake but however we have to follow laws and we have to bag up all personal property out of **************** me when I say my employees do not enjoy digging through people disgusting vehicles to bag up their property trying to distinguish trash from items ...Sorry you had a bad experience hope your life gets betterReview from Lindsey S

Very rude and unprofessional. Its also sickening how you charge high fees for a person to retrieve their belongings out of the vehicle. Before you take the vehicle at least give the person a chance to retrieve their belongings instead of being cold hearted evil people, especially right before the holidays! Life is hard and you dont know what people are going through right now. I understand you have a job to do but to be that heartless, and not let an old lady with severe health issues whos also becoming disabled due to her health issues retrieve her personal belongings is just disgusting! Bad things happen and unfortunately some people struggle to get back on their feet, definitely dont need your ugly heart and rude employees making it worse!Image Recovery Service Inc Response

Went to go get my belongings I had 2 ******* watches in my car got 1 back my 2 **** and my brand new floor **** all missing my floor **** was on my bags in the property room and there's pictures of it I was told and it just up and walked away not so upset the **** or the watch my **** where from my father's funeral but just called and said they are still waiting on a call from **************** to see if they are still in thereReview from Cameron N

A family member had her car towed a second time within a year. The first time someone at this company stole about $40 in change and when I took her to pick up her car, the owner/manager was extraordinarily rude. She told me that she reported it to the finance company who ordered the ******** forward to last week. Her car was towed again and her brother took her this time. She got all of her stuff back including the change in her middle console. However, she also got a ***** pound bag that belonged to someone else. Her brother opened the bag when they got home not knowing that it wasn't hers. Pictures were taken of the bag and the contents at the top of the bag which includes a license plate. I will be following up with the ********************* to make sure this 1 star rated company will get this property back to the correct owner. This bag will be returned 8-24-23. The people who hire this company (cities, finance *** etc.) beware. This company could very well be a liability to you.Image Recovery Service Inc Response

Thank you for returning the bag ....We investigated and you received all your property but were given a extra bag the extra bag in question was expired in April 2023 and should have been destroyed but was not and was given by mistake ....I appreciate the honesty. My employee made a honest mistake. I have found that generally people make mistakes and I try to correct them and move on. Wish ****** had no start because they dont deserve that one! First of all you cant get copies of your paperwork your signing, its a doorway where the transaction is made, they have letter all over the door, stating no pictures or phones, nothing states check your car for damage, before leaving the lot cause like a lot of people have to go and be at work or get kids from school etc, Ive had my car repossessed so I didnt the ins and outs of it, car was repossessed at 3am and I guess the guy was in a hurry, damaging my fender on the left side, Ill had my baby for 3 years now, wear and tear on the vehicle but not this bad, I called and the young lady stated I could have gotten in a accident after the lot and I wasnt I stay 20mins away from the location and then they rude a** told me that couldnt help me, the man that gave me my car was very polite and thank you, they need letters and posters in there stating check your car before leaving for new damage, its nothing in there stating that, this really hurt my heart, Im a widow with 3 children working, going to nursing school and fell behind with explanation and still cant get the respect I need. I know yall dont care for others properties I see the other reviews. Sad even if someone state that to me the 3 times I call I would have look, now my car damage and they are not taking accountability! And I wouldnt write this review if I didnt talk to someone already and they told me what they told me I wasnt aware that I needed to check my vehicle and they need a sign stating that! The paperwork that you signed literally says that I have inspected my vehicle and its in the same condition that it was taken in ...I don`t know why we have to make a sign for you when its wrote on the paperwork that you signed ...I understand people are busy in life . You called 40 minutes after leaving our facility to say your vehicle was damaged. My guys have made mistakes and we do take accountability for it when its done in the proper manor but people only post negative tings on the internet which is why you see the great reviews. The reason for the no video and pictures is because we are not public servants this is a private business and people who are angry ruin it for everyone by posting pictures of my employees online and harassing them for doing their job. Also privacy comes into play not everyone is proud of the situation and doesn`t want there business on the internet. Ive never have a repo before, you can assume everybody know what to do when it comes to repossession of a vehicle so Im not sure what supposed to happen. I told the guy that I was here to pick up my vehicle. He asked me my name get my paperwork and CSI here so Im assuming Im signing some type of release form so I can get my car which thats all I thought and then I asked him I say sir do you mind if I get a copy of those he told me that it was up to Westlake to give me a copy and Ive been calling them and they havent received a copy of the information yet, yes, it was very quick and you guys were closing I believe 30 minutes prior to me getting there, so yes, it was a miscommunication. And you can assume someone knows what to do in case they cant be repossessed. I didnt have anything valuable in the car because they have been sitting for four months. So that explains the things that was in the car and the man ***** was correct about the front bumper port and I bought it like that but no one talked about the damage on the back end or the driver side of my car. I didnt make this review because I was angry. I made this review because of the response I got from the lady basically saying I couldve been in an accident or something about my car. And that wasnt true and not to mention, I was just in a car accident a month prior to you guys towing the car while almost lost my life so someone making a type of accusation was mind bothering to me. I sign the papers was looking over them and the guy grab them, and ask for me keys. I just want my car so I could go on with my life. I stay 20mins away. I stop for food and home I went. Nothing happen to me, I noticed the damage when I got out the car, it was behind so if I would have walk around my car then I would have saw it, I didnt know I was supposed to inspect my vehicle before I left. No one that was there at that moment was rude, it was when I call and talk to someone. This place should be put out of business. They are towing vehicles illegally. The company came and stole my 2013 Kia Optima 01/27/2023 at 2 AM in the morning. I have all the necessary documents from the Secretary of Treasury and the IRS stating I'm the original creditor of the property and the tax for the property has been assessed. With that being said they had no right to retrieve my property based on an order from the debtor Santander Consumer USA, who claimed to have a lien on the property which would be impossible, being I'm the original creditor of the property. I spoke to ***** over the phone, she was very rude. She made the statement she can't speak with me because I'm not an attorney, I then told her I'm my own power of attorney(Pro Se), she then said I would have to speak with the companies attorney but refused to give me his/her contact info before hanging up in my face. The company has now auctioned off my vehicle and lied to me over the phone stating the property was returned to Santander Consumer USA, when I'm competent and have knowledge of how the towing companies operate. I have now filed a motion with the court, and they delivered a summons for Image Recovery Inc to show up to court to prove they had the right to retrieve my property. I emailed them a true bill charging $1000 each day my property is in their possession, it's going on 2 months now. Clearly you do not know how this business operates because if you did you would know that we have authority to auction off your said vehicle. If ********* sent a order for repossession on your vehicle and we recovered it then we return the vehicle to Santander. What they do with the vehicle is their business. I did receive a random bill in mail for 1k a day. However the name listed did not pull up in system. Your quickest solution if what you are describing is true would be to call Santander and sort it out with them. We are not told anything other then to pick up car we are not told how much is owed etc. And yes company policy is when you say you are a attorney or your are taking legal action you have to speak with our attorneys that's pretty normal practice for businesses since we are not attorneysCustomer Response

Based on the complaints and comments against your company, it's quite clear your establishment is unprofessional and your staff is rude. Clearly you don't know the laws because how can you have the authority over a property when I'm the original creditor of the property? On the record permission was never given to you by me to seize my property or else you wouldn't have come at 2 AM in the morning to steal it while me and my family was sleeping. I have a copy of the tow order sent to your establishment on the said date from American Auto Recovery, and a motion will be filed with the courts against them next along with ********* ******** ***. Thanks for verifying you received my true bill invoice which will hold up in court, and my name probably didn't pull up in your system because Image Recovery *** had already auctioned off my property. Normal business practice would have been for your attorney to get in touch with me(Plaintiff-Pro Se), once the motion was filed against your company on 03/09/2023, and served to Image Recovery *** 03/13/2023. When I called and spoke with ***** and asked for a number to contact your attorney, I was told I have to get that information from the court I filed the motion with, which is not how this process works. Once a claim was filed against Image Recovery ***, your attorney should be getting in contact with all parties involved. Today is 03/28/2023, and I still have not heard from any council on your behalf.Review from Landin H

These people are absolutely racist and even when I escalated with the manager *** he was rude cut me off and said oh sorry I hurt your feelings condescendingly while he still cut me off and wouldnt let me talk. They started by lying about when they picked my car up and wanted to charge me an extra day - then the tow ***************** was so racist and rude hes yelling at me because I was upset that my tire was flat when it wasnt flat before they got it - he showed me a picture of my tire in the dark when they picked it up in the afternoon the picture didnt have a date and he refused to give me a copy - he was going to put air in it then refused - and continued to yell @ me . *** the owner was beyond disrespectful and so unprofessionalImage Recovery Service Inc Response

You need to look up the definition of raciest. Just because we are two different races and I don`t give you your way doesn`t mean I`m raciest. We have a Picture of your car prior to touching your car with your apt numbers in the background. You said we are lying and took that picture at our lot. Also you stated the two happened at 3pm when I told you it happened at 3am you said I was a liar. All tows are signed by law enforcement for that reason but you didn`t want to hear that. Yes he was going to help you and put air in the tire until you were disrespecting him and yelling at him at that point he no longer wanted to help you which I fully support. In this world people get treated as they treat others no matter what color they are. This is 2022 I feel sorry that a disagreement can`t happen with another person and the racial accusations must come out.Customer Response

Im not the first nor the last person who has had a negative experience @ your establishment countless ppl I know have had a racist encounter with your all white staff .you were rude and are still rude and ***** initiated arguing with a woman . Of course you side with him thats why you cut me off and wouldnt hear my side . I am a federal employee pay everything in full and my lender sent over the release and they will not release my vehicle they are racist and are trying to let the cars sit to get money and I need to speak to someone in charge..Review from Donald W

They charge $25 to give you your property. The highway patrol had to educate them they can't charge or hold license plates. The people are not nice and the negative reviews about their behavior are accurate. It's not just me they ripped off apparently. This is completely false and customer knows it he has threatened to file BBB and Attorney General complaint which he did. Customer was not charged for his property he was charged a 25 inventory and storage fee which is allowed by the state of missouri.400.9-207. Rights and duties of secured party having possession or control of collateral. (a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (d), a secured party shall use reasonable care in the custody and preservation of collateral in the secured party's possession. In the case of chattel paper or an instrument, reasonable care includes taking necessary steps to preserve rights against prior parties unless otherwise agreed.(1) Reasonable expenses, including the cost of insurance and payment of taxes or other charges, incurred in the custody, preservation, use, or operation of the collateral are chargeable to the debtor and are secured by the collateral; At no time ever was customer told he could retrieve Plates wallet prescription medicine child safety seat free of charge. Customer started out cussing my staff out and when got to me had to be hung up on 7 times for screaming and cussing. I did receive a call from state trooper when I explained everything he told customer there is nothing he could do because we are doing everything by the book . This took place ****************************************************************** out again
